Usually do not encounter any issues and have very helpful workers, Went to purchase a Beta fish and was met with an attitude and pop quiz by i’m assuming a manager or a higher up in the aquatic department.I have a patient who has a love for fish and knows how to care for them, I decided to purchase a fish for them, Woman told me I would not be able to purchase because it was a gift, I find the whereabouts of these fish to be none of her concern seeing as they were sitting in micro plastic bags just barely filled half with water. She continues to ask me if I have a tank and how long it has been running and proceeded with an attitude. Very disappointed in the customer service and nasty attitude.

We have gone there for years and have always been treated well, especially the groomers. Staff are helpful for whatever you are looking for. They don't sell cats or dogs but do have food and products for them. They also have fish. Plenty of parking. Handicap parking with 2 or spots available. Restrooms also available. In same parking lot as Chipotle, and the new Ocean State Job Lot.

We went there for vaccinations this morning. I had an 11:45am appointment and brought my vaccination records with me, and we still had to wait in line - first come, first served - to be checked in. There should have been an announcement made asking for those with appointments to get preferred check-in. (Otherwise, why bother?) Once the dunderhead walk-in with NO documentation was sent packing, the wait was relatively brief and smooth.

Friendly staff, that welcomes the pets and their families. Very surprised to see such a wide range of pet clothes. LOL. Everything from high glam to every day running around. Along with the expected items I found some other helpful and unique items. They also gave a adoption and training area as well as a grooming department. If you are looking to purchase they house on a small scale birds, fish, ferrets, hamsters etc.

store has gone completely down hill. workers there are rude and disrespectful to customers. i’ve heard them talk about dead hamsters being in the enclosures with live ones. (what the heck??) fish tanks are littered with dead bodies. it seems nobody knows what they’re doing. the store isles are constantly blocked by carts to where some items are inaccessible. animal enclosures are constantly dirty. new management is awful.

My dog needed to have his nails trimmed for physical therapy, and I was unable to create an appointment for him because For nails only it’s walk-in service. I went in after work at 5:30 and the grooming area was dark, but the door was open. We waited for a while and try to find someone to help. There was one girl there who was on the phone and we were waiting patiently for her call to end, but it never did. Finally after 10-15 minutes, we asked the checkout clerk. He said that the grooming hours were over. When I told him The hours online and on the door says grooming is open until six. Then he told me I should make an appointment Lol. I had to explain to the employee that the site doesn’t let me do that for nails. He told me to come back at eight in the morning but they cant be open during regular hours I’m not going to go out of my way to give them business

The employees were friendly at first showed 16 year old step daughter and 8 year old stepson guinea pigs and there was a chameleon on sale for $60 with the chameleon tank setup kit for just over $100 and that was the one pet that lil boy has wanted since he was 3 1/2 and mom was willing to buy it on the spot when the manager told them that they couldn't afford that lizard and it was to expensive to care for and he wasn't going to sell it to them then he try'd to offer them a $20 gecko instead leaving my family storming out the lil boy crying his eyes out! The they come home and want me to go there and defend them and demand it this manager has no emotions or experience with children and sucks at sales This store is unbelievable

Hackers are for groomers at this location! I have a Yorkie with beautiful hair. I brought her in for a trim, and they shaved all her hair off. Mind you, it's the winter, so she will be also freezing now with a horrible haircut. I could have done a much better job myself. I paid 60.00 to be mortified!

This is the worst Petco in the area. Always under staffed during their busy hours and never have a consistent inventory. I’ve been coming to this one for the last 10years and things have only become worse in the last 6 months

Went with a friend to exchange a fish and get a some supplies for their tank. It was a nice experience and the staff was very helpful. It was fun checking out the birds, fish, and turtles. Made me interested in starting my own aquarium!

I'm adopting a dog for the first time and needed a lot of help selecting the best items. Devin was the associate who devoted a solid 30 minutes to doing just that. And she was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. One quick example: I picked out a fluffy and cute dog bed. Without bursting my bubble, Devin politely pointed out that, given my circumstances, the dog might tear it up (depending on anxiety level) and so forth. Huh. Never thought of that! So, again, I'm grateful that she gave me such expert advice and helped to set me up for success as a new pet parent!

2 stars just because the groomers were friendly. But I took my dog in to get her nails grinded, teeth brushed, ears cleaned, and anal glands expressed. They said it would take 20-30 minutes but they called me back maybe 5 minutes later to say she was done. I picked her up and i realized as we were walking out that they only did 2 of her feet??? And the nails they did trim they clipped instead of dremeled which is what i asked for. I could have just clipped them myself but her nails are prone to splitting when they're clipped instead of dremelled, thats why I decided to pay them to do it. The fact that they were done with her so fast makes me wonder if they did anything at all because she still had issues with her anal glands immediately after. I risked having my dog exposed to this new virus for them to basically do a whole lot of nothing for $45. Never going back.

The staff was very helpful and supportive. I wanted to give my leopard gecko something different other than mealworms. She was quite helpful and suggested a small size so "Spot"' wouldn't get too intimidated. I explained that I only wanted to get a few.. Seeing I didn't know if he was going to like it. She understood and agreed and got 3 small crickets.Which she was right! She was very informative and was very nice. Spot enjoyed his different meal. I will continue to shop there.

Came here for a beta fish about a week ago and was surprised at the large selection they had. As an animal lover it was nice to see all tanks for fish/reptiles/birds appeared to be well kept.

This place is horrible my 8 year old wanted a chameleon for Christmas and manager wouldn't let us purchase it because said we couldn't afford it my son was devastated treated us like we were poor when lizard was on sale for 35 and tank on sale for 80 which ain't alot of money and manager said we couldn't buy it because we couldn't afford it discrimination

Bought a few fish from this location for my tank and my father's. Days after, every fish in my tank and his tank was dead from the sickness these new fish introduced. I will NOT be purchasing any living thing from petco again. We are both extremely saddened and disappointed by the losses. We've had our fish for 3 years and had no issues until adding petco fish.
