I went to Pet Express in Saugus, MA. The people were very friendly and personable. We looked at and inquired about over 5 dogs initially. They were great! We ended up buying a beautiful Cavachon. He’s going to be well loved. Thank you!

i got my puppy here. her name is coco chanel but when we first went to look at her her name was sweetie. getting coco was the best thing to ever happen to me. i love that dog with my whole heart. she is happy and perfectly healthy. the customer service here was great and you can tell the workers really care about the dogs. i cant even explain how much i love my puppy.

The sign out front shows 🐈 s, 🕊️ s and 🐕 s, but, they sell only puppies and items for dogs. The bakery for dogs was cute. I liked the huge 🐠 fishtank. The puppies pull at your ❤️ heartstrings.

UNETHICAL! Refused several times for no good reason to reveal breeder’s details before purchase. Any ethical outfit would want you to know and to be able to do background research on a breeder before purchase. Kept in TINY boxes and socialized only with the staff - any canine behaviorist will tell you that’s literally the opposite of raising a well-rounded puppy! They are not walked, exercise consists only of the playtime they have (in another small box) for a period of time far less than required for most breeds in here.Buying from here would be considered a ‘rescue’ by any rescue standards.

Got my pup Sox from here. Puppies are highly priced and come with a lot of toys and extra items that honestly I don't require but we're given to me anyways that was included in the price. Wish there was a way where you could buy the puppy without all the extra included toys. Some of the items they include in the kit are useful but the toys were a bit excessive. Other than that my puppy seems to be happy and healthy for now.

This place is horrible. All pups look so sad/ or sleeping. They also drink from a tube. What place treats animals this way?! Not to mention there were 3 girls at the register talking laughing on their phones. Not one came to see if anyone there needed any help. Hire people that actually CARE about these poor animals environment.

Not BAD, the staff were nice there, the only concern I have are the dogs, they are in a small place, confined, not able to play around. My dog that I got there bites so much now, I don't think they had any biting toys. And my dog that I got, does not like the food it seems like. She loves the treats though.. Please get a better selection for food, and maybe I'll change my rating. But otherwise, my maltipoo loves her new home and us.

They sell puppies mostly, the store is well staffed, clean and organized. The staff are friendly employees and willing to help you with any questions. However the puppies they are selling are ridiculously expensive over four thousand dollars for a puppy, and thats starting price. They do have payment options you can apply for if you qualify that is. Every puppy has a sold or pending sign on there cage, I think there were two that were actually for sale. They are price gouging because of the pandemic and that's not right!

The puppies are adorable. I only wish they weren't so expensive. Prices range from $3900 +. You can put $500 deposit and then pay the rest when you pick up the dog. There is financing if you qualify. But it isn't simply to have thousands of dollars lying around

I went to the store looking for a Pomeranian, the staff wasn’t too bad they just didn’t act like they cared and weren’t the most helpful. I’m a vet tech and I see dogs all day and these puppies I know these puppies come from puppy mills (you can research it), they often times don’t even have the papers for these puppies. they’re often sick and have behavioral issues. The prices are OUTRAGEOUS for what they’re selling. The dogs were not entirely friendly to each other and clearly weren’t happy. They are kept in too small of boxes for to long of a time, they get distressed and uneasy because of it and that will show and develop as they get older. I bought a beagle from one of these a bit ago and he had issues when we got him, very hard time potty training, and it seemed like they took him away at too young of an age, which is NOT GOOD AT ALL. I recommend a shelter over these places, but the best bet is a local breeder or even the shelter if the breeders are to expensive depending on the breed.

Disgusted with this store , 2 different puppies took a number #2 & then ate it after as we were standing there , most of the puppies you could see there ribs , they all looked dirty , it’s disgusting how they have these puppies & don’t take care of them. These puppies need bigger spaces & more care for them cause obviously no one seems to care .

Purchased a puppy about a month ago, they sold us a sick puppy. We noticed kennel cough as soon as we got home. Spoke with both the manager and owner to discuss, both were unhelpful. Kennel cough is SEVERELY contagious, which means if our pup has it, every single dog in the store also has it. Both the manager, Anthony and the co-owner, John claim they would never sell dogs which they knew were sick. We were told my Anthony, the store manager who is also related to the owners, that the reviews of people's dogs becoming sick, etc were all crazy animal activists who have never even been to the store or purchased a dog. But, my husband and I experienced first hand that these dogs are sick, and the owners and managers are KNOWINGLY selling sick, unwell animals, and they not only refused to admit it but treated it as a business transaction and wouldn't work with us. I would like to warn anyone and everyone, PLEASE do NOT buy animals from this store. These people are crooks and its all about the bottom line-- money. They do NOT care about their customers, or the animals and its very sad. Our puppy became lethargic, weak and wouldn't eat for days. They will tell you in the store that the dogs become sick because people don't take them to the vet, etc-- THAT IS NOT TRUE. We did everything we were supposed to, took care of this puppy as if it were a newborn child, nursed her and took her to the vet 3 times in 30 days, and still we were blamed by the owners and they wouldn't even admit their fault. Awful business and people running it-- so disappointed and afraid for our dogs life. Now her lung function is compromised as well as her immune system at such a young age. We paid $3000 for a SICK animal and their only response was, "so do you want to return the dog then?" Of course we don't want to return her, she's our baby now, we love her and want to care for her. So cold and heartless, I feel like we were robbed, its an awful feeling, and now we fear for the dog's life and future.

Worst customer service... Had to wait about 15 minutes to pay for one item because the young lady at the front was going over the paperwork for a dog she just sold... Ok I get it, they are spending $5K plus and I'm spending $5 on a little stick for my dog, but when another associate finally comes out from the back, he goes to take care of another customer that wasn't even in the line... Also, I feel that good customer service would have been if the young lady let the other guy know that she was going to be tied up on a sale...

I never visited Pet Express 2 weeks ago. It was my mother and I hope her cellular isn't linked to mine 🙏🏼 Because of COVID-19 if you want to adopt pets and safe lives you have to fill endless applications to no avail...you never hear from shelters. Our god died few months ago and it was time my mother got a new dog....her life was very sad...actually our lives were very sad so mother visited Pet Express gave a down payment and 3 days ago we got a magnificent little 10 weeks puppy...She is adorable! But their pets are being sold too expensive $5,500 dollars....and this is the way the world expect you to give them a forever home?.... Many years ago when I bought my malteses, I only paid $1,000 each....They have to do better....🤔🤔🤔

Went here yesterday with my mom and friend. The staff didn’t greet us when we came inside the store. We asked to play with a puppy and the lady who helped us was quite rude. She let us play with the golden doodle pup for less than 5 mins, then said “times up” and snatched the dog away before we even knew what was going on. All while I was asking questions on how to adopt from there. There was a couple next to us that was playing with a poodle pup and got more time than we did. Never going back again! Plus $3,600 for a standard golden doodle puppy is WAY too much. I will go to a reputable breeder instead.

I got a wonderful pug 4 years ago from pet Express . I was very lucky . No health problems . Thank god . I am seeing horrible reviews that these puppy’s r from puppy mills . I hope not . That is very sad way to make money . That would say a lot about pet Express if this is true . It means they don’t care about animals and only the money .

Hard to believe the other locations now named “Healthy Pet” and this location are owned by the same people. The other locations sell smaller animals and food made my family owned businesses. They have a local feel and appeal. But this “puppy” location, Pet Express, is so so sad. The staff is so indifferent. The puppies that are alone in those boxes are so sad. They’re born in who knows what conditions at puppy mills, taken from their family, shipped in a crate across country, and then put in a box on display, often without a companion to even play with. It literally brings me to tears to think about what these dogs go through at such a young age. Please buy elsewhere, even if you have to drive drive drive to get the pup you want.

Only have one star because there was no lower !! Those poor puppies are behind glass panting from being too hot and they all look miserable!!! The rude worker didn’t like it when I asked why they were all panting if it wasn’t too hot in their like someone else said and her reply was , they aren’t hot !!! Someone with authority needs to go in and see for themselves how these poor puppies are being treated !!! So sad that these animals are suffering and have no voice !!!!

I got my pup Mocha from here in sept. 2016, she was 4 months old. I have never had 1 health issue with my little girl and she has the best temperament and is so happy.Don’t get me wrong, I agree that dogs should be adopted, when possible. But the companies make it very difficult to adopt dogs. House checks, income verification, landlord reference. They treat you like a child, then you have to wait a month or longer to see if your application gets choosen.The only thing I disagree with are the staff are very easy to ignore customers (probably because a lot of people go in there just to see the puppies with NO intention what so ever to buy); but it’s still rude non the less. And also, they staff has no knowledge what so ever about the dogs, the company or why the pricing is so high. I was coming to buy another pup from there, same breed as my Mocha, but she was almost 3 times the price and no one could tell me why, but that she did get a price drop recently. I think the owners need to make their employees more responsible and the pricing needs to be better established and not based on “this pup has been here 2 weeks, drop the price $300”

The only location that had french bulldogs was saugus so my husband and I went there to look at them. We found one that was of interest and we were able to bond with the little guy. I had been wanting a french bulldog for a very long time and now is the time to finally get one. We went back on Saturday and the little guy was still there. So my husband went through the financing and was approved but did not realize that dog was really 10,000 not what they were really asking for. When we brought the little guy home he seemed to be fine but then he had major poop attacks like 4. It was all over the place and his energy level was not good either. We feed him the next day and it took him seven hours to poop. We called pet express and told them all of this. We brought our little guy back not know that we had to return him which was devastating to us. They wanted their vet to check him out. It is now Wednesday and we have not heard anything and my husband has called everyday since Sunday to see what the status is. We are both extremely upset about this as we fell in love with this little guy but also do not want a sick pup at home as insurance for pups won't insure us, but I do not like being lied to.

The puppies look exhausted and sick. The prices for them are also ridiculously expensive ($7,500) Whats worse is that its a pet mill they were taken away from their families at only a few weeks old and put into extremely small cages. Please report to the authorities or something no animal deserves to live like this.
