Awesome staff. My dog is a little skittish with strangers and he was practically in their lap giving them kisses. He’s had to be muzzled in the past for anything invasive such as ear cleaning and nail trimming which always seemed odd to me (he’s not aggressive), and we recently needed to have an ear infection treated. He was so comfortable here that we didn’t need to muzzle him. In fact, he loved having them clean out his ouchy ear and even leaned into the cleaning. I’d probably still go here even if I moved off Cape.

One of, if not THE best vet visit I’ve ever had!! They loved my dog (they had never seen her breed before) and every worker who came in was on the ground with her trying to make her comfortable. My dog is very shy with new people and I’ve never seen her warm up so quickly to someone. They took blood work and did tests right with her on the floor where she was comfy while I held her. She was totally calm, not even shaking like usual. It was so smooth, and after, my dog was still wagging her tail and going up to them. I love the staff there!!!! Thank you so much. It’s the best feeling to find a vet you and your dog want to go back to.

Adopted an elderly dog who has a history (or so I was told) of being super snappy when it came to vet visits. Between the vet, Dr. Dyer, spending some one on one time for a few minutes along with the vet tech, Cara, doing the same, I was proven wrong very quickly. They are dog whisperers. My 13 y.o. dog was jumping on the two of them like he was a puppy! Very good experience. Thank you for your empathetic and kind natures!

First of all The receptionists and technicians were awesome. Kind, professional and compassionate. Unfortunately the doctor was not. She did not call to update me after my dogs surgery. She didn’t follow up with his experience and how he was doing. My other dog was given a devastating diagnosis which I learned from a technician over the phone! The doctor did not call. I had to call for 2 days to get her to return my call to discuss the diagnosis and care. She was not apologetic about not calling to discuss my dogs disease and apathetic regarding my dogs care and future. Will not be bringing my dogs back to this practice due to her lack of professionalism and compassion.

We recently had our rescue Bernese Mountain Dog spayed under the care of staff at Shawme. From our first presurgery visit to the actual day of surgery, the staff were considerate, kind and very resourceful. Great communication and follow up care. We feel very fortunate to have found such a caring and skilled veterinary group.

Compassionate care. We were dissatisfied with a big chain and decided to try a smaller local vet. Highly recommend. Helped us with euthanizing my older dog and neutering my younger dog within a month of taking us on. Very personalized care. Kind staff that actually looks at you when they are speaking to you. So glad we switched!

My dog, who is 18, needed dental & gum work. Shawme took me the same day I called when I saw signs of blood on the bed. They were all kind and professional. The attending Vet tried to find a day to do the surgery, but had nothing. That's when Alex stepped in & said she would do it. I brought my dog in at 8 a.m. & Alex was there, took me right away & went over pertinent information on my pet. She was very thorough and asked questions about him, which I really appreciated. She also asked if I had any concerns, which I mentioned. She called me early that afternoon to say my dog's surgery was done & he did well. I went to pick him up & Alice was there. She asked more questions about him & gave me his medicine & the directions for his at-home treatment & brought him out to me. I was very impressed by her knowledge and insight, at such a young age. They are all very kind & friendly.

These people are either negligent, or swindlers. My wife just brought our cat here to have her Xrayed for asthma, they took the cat, vaccinated her, examined her rectum WITHOUT EVEN ASKING MY WIFE. Charged us over $150 for that then came back with an estimate for the asthma exam and treatment which she had to decline because we can’t afford it now.Where do you people off? Where is the common sense? My cat needed to be seen FOR ASTHMA. I would assume you people got into this business to help animals. Congratulations you’ve failed.

I started bringing my dog to Shawme Animal Hospital over a decade ago, before the current building was even constructed. Unfortunately, my last visit was very disappointing, and I realized how much things have changed over the years. They are no longer open or "on call" during the weekends. They don't "follow up" with the client after a visit, like they used to. And worst, they definitely seem to care more about money than your pet's health (last time I was there, they had an obnoxious yellow sign posted on EVERY door in the building that a nail trim is $35)!If this is how the service was 10 years ago, we would have found another Veterinarian. It's all very disappointing.

Dr Romeiser watched over my Golden Doodle for 11.5 years. Each time we brought my dog to see him for a concern he made me feel like my dog was his dog. He takes the time and love to get to know your pet and you so that he can work with both of you throughout the years. DO NOT GO HERE! I’ve been taking two of my dogs here for the last 8 years and they were great years ago but have had a rapid decline over the last few years. Not only has the prices skyrocketed but the service and quality as well. Took my Husky there today for a booster and they wouldn’t even try to give it to him with my help and instead insisted on sedating him. Even though weeks before he had blood drawn and 4 shots and handled it completely fine! They didn’t allow me to go back with him, and then they claimed he bit them and wouldn’t go forward with it because there was no rooms available so I could calm my dog down. My dog has never bit anyone!!!! and the fact of that alone happening is the reason I will never go back. I don’t trust them with my dogs what so ever!!!!
