I have a 17 year old pug that is very fragile and this is the only place that I trust to bring her to to get groomed. Maria is absolutely amazing she is the sweetest. She is so gentle and amazing with my Lucy. I would never go anywhere else this place is so clean and so wonderful! this is an amazing establishment! The people that work here are so kind, loving and sweet. They truly love animals. You can tell by the way they treat every single one of them so special. Thank you guys for all you do for my little old Lucy!

I just wanted to say that this place is truly amazing! I saw the bad reviews (obviously fake) and decided to look at the good REAL reviews. I decided to bring my puppy here, It was his first time getting groomed so I was a little nervous, but they truly did an amazing job!!!! He came back looking amazing, he was happy, and most of all he was safe in their care. I will be coming back again, and I recommend going to anyone having doubts :)

I’ve been bringing my Corgi here for grooming since she was a puppy (going on almost a year now). I’ve never had any problems or issues with Kissable Paws (with their appointment availability or the services provided). My sweet little VIP (Very-Important-Puppy) ALWAYS looks GREAT when I pick her up - soft, fluffy and smelling wonderful! I truly trust the Kissable Paws friendly, attentive staff to treat my dogger with the same kindness and care she would receive at home, and will continue bringing her there for regular grooming - thanks Kissable Paws!!!

I took my black lab here and I am so happy I did! I cannot thank the staff here enough for treating my baby so wonderful! He came out looking gorgeous as ever and he is super fussy about getting his nails cut, and Maria was able to get the job done with little effort ! I will definitely be back highly recommend!! First photo is after grooming, second is the before. Base price was $65 for a haircut but it’s been a couple months since he got a haircut so he was pretty matted. This was our first time so she gave us a discount and it was 77 total (not including tip) for teeth brushing, nail trim, medicated bath for his itchy skin, cut and brush. He was happy and looks cute! They answered the phone whenever i called and i was able to make an appointment easily and on a weekend with no trouble. It was cash or check only and I wasn’t able to get a exact price or price range until he was all done and ready for pick up and he was ready an hour later than was originally estimated (8:30am drop off, ready for 3pm pick up). We will definitely be back though! It’s nice to have a reliable, regular groomer in the area. 🐶 ❤️

Super rude owner & does absolutely horrific grooming jobs! Charges full price for services not even provided, lies about what she can do & then blames it on the animal for not being cooperative. Please take your furry friends somewhere else they deserve better :(

I brought my 2 cats here today and am so happy with how they look! They had a bath, nail trim, and sanitary trim. They are so soft! Maria let me know that one of the cats had bad diarrhea (likely due to nerves!) and that they would be done later than expected. Maria was so understanding and even recommended different wet food to help with his sensitive stomach. I will be bringing my cats here again!

It’s been 5 days since Maria groomed our golden retriever, Annie, and the whole family keeps talking about how Annie is so soft and somehow smells so good (and asking me to ask Maria what magical shampoo she uses). Maria also gave her a trim and her coat looks so nice. Her teeth are cleaner than they’ve ever been. We’ve used several other dog groomers before but none come close to Maria! This is definitely the only place we will bring Annie.

I’ve had a hard time finding dog groomers for my Frenchie that knew what they were doing with him and how to treat them since they are such judgmental, sensitive dogs. I came across Maria and am very happy with her treatment of my boy. She not only “just grooms” a dog, but keeps an eye out for any scratches, sores, red eyes, red ears and let’s you know the details so you can take it up with your vet. I feel very good knowing my dog is very safe in Maria’s hands. That then leads me to being a newer (few months) dog daycare customer. In the morning, when I say to my Frenchie, “Do you want to go play?”, he gets all excited and runs to the back door. He can’t wait to get out of the car and into his play time with his furry friends. I have had no complaints about the way I’ve seen or heard anyone at Kissable Paws/The Barkstonian treat dogs. In fact, I feel secure knowing they know what’s best for them leading to a healthy play time. I can’t recommend Maria and her businesses enough. This is from one happy local Salem customer and her Frenchie!

We have been bringing both dogs here for nearly a decade. There is no one else I trust with our dogs…both have anxiety- but both love and trust Maria and her team. In fact, when I was living in DC, and now in California, I still will only bring my dog to Maria! I wait for a trip to Salem because she is truly the best. The facility is amazing, clean, and unlike any other I have seen. From the first interaction with your dog, it is evident how much Maria cares and loves dogs. My normally shy dog went right up to her into her arms. The dogs always look amazing and come home so happy. Not to mention, supporting a local women-owned business is the only way to go! Thank you Maria and kissable paws for being the best!

We have been working with Maria at Kissable Paws for many years, Currently she is grooming our 3rd dog which tells you its been many years. Our last dog was an alpha female mixed breed rescue who could be temperamental but not with Maria and her team. Now we have a Bernie doodle who has no anxiety when we head over to her place. Maria is amazing, so down to earth and very caring about her clients and their pups. Our dogs have never been nervous with her and she has groomed them exactly as we have wanted. On top of that her rates are very reasonable and I am always amazed at how accommodating Maria is in setting an appointment that works. We go no where else! Also, her new place just off 114 in Salem has plenty of parking and is easy to get to.

Today was my first experience bringing my anxious rescue dog for grooming and he looks great! Maria was willing to tolerate some difficult behavior because she said "I know he's not a mean dog, he's just scared." She is willing to continue working with him and developing a relationship so the grooming experience won't be so scary for him. I'm not sure what happened based on the reviews I'm reading posted in the last couple days, but something seems fishy. I don't think any of those people claiming 1 star reviews are actual clients, just nasty people trying to effect a small business.

Let me start by saying, I am a real client of Maria’s at kissable paws! I met Maria 5yrs ago when she opened her new location right next to my house. I have a mini Doberman who suffers from sever anxiety. I have brought him to many groomers, prior to Maria, and none have been able to work with him besides her.( this includes me)As he is a very skittish dog, previous groomers could never cut his nails, without nicking him, and I get it, like I mentioned he is full of anxiety, so I know how hard it was to get the job done without incident. Let me tell you, Maria is a dog whisperer, and a miracle, as she is the only one my dog will go to. She knows her animals. Also Maria is there to answer any questions or concerns, I may have. She has been very helpful in suggesting tips for me to better handle my dog. She is very accommodating as well, as my dog Buddy doesn’t do well with appointments, it’s more of a hey Maria can you fit him in, and she does! I have and will continue to recommend Maria, as she is truly great at what she does!

Maria Rose was the most unprofessional groomer I have ever experienced.My pet has never misbehaved during a grooming appointment and she was unwilling to “Put Up” with my pet.I do not recommend this place to ANYONE who wants their cat or dog to be groomed. She doesn’t know how to do her job and doesn’t know how to communicate with clients 😡😡

Maria at Kissable Paws and her staff have been the best groomer we have ever had. I had (one passed🙏) Papillons. They are very delicate dogs with lots of fine silky fur. Maria has cared for them their whole life. My one papillon is now 12 years old and is still going to Maria. Maria and staff are professional and provide the best grooming services on the North Shore. I trust her with my best friend!

She has such a wonderful way with animals and I have not found a better groomer for my two Persian cats - Tiger and now Sophie! We had a great experience taking our dog to Kissable Paws for a medicated bath and nail cutting. We are first-time customers and were nervous because our rescue dog can be a little fearful and nervous. He doesn't like his ears touched and he is easily startled. Kissable Paws did a wonderful job, and he was returned to us clean and happy, with nice soft fur and skin. We will be back!

Maria at Kissable Paws provides an excellent grooming service from A-Z and I wouldn't go elsewhere. She's upfront and honest and cares about your pet. Extremely hardworking individual. I've been bringing my Shih Tzu and Himalayan cat there for years. My pets have had some health issues and she's always been willing to provide helpful knowledge/expertise that I'm grateful for.

Maria is the BEST!We have 2 difficult cats, as they were wild strays.Maria is so good with them, they come in crying but her soothing voice and gentle handling seems to magically allieve them of their fears. It took us a long time to find a professional who could successfully cut their claws, other than our vet, and return them to us un-stressed.We are thankful for Kissable Paws. Maria is amazing: kind, skilled, efficient. Our cat HATES to have her claws trimmed, and she acts out. Maria calms her down and skillfully cuts her nails in short order. Her services are reasonably priced, and she is a wonderful friend to animals.
