This place always has what I need. Always. The staff always asks to help and isn't annoyed when you ask for help. Great service all around. Stocked brands are good quality. Also, the Ace Rewards system is decent... not quite as painful when you spend the extra few dollars for stuff.

I had wonderful expert help with the perfect paint and primer for my project and then I found terrific perennial plants in their garden section at great prices. Everyone in the store was super helpful and nice and the store itself is huge, well organized, clean and full of everything you could possibly need at a hardware store…. Plus Sherwin Williams paint! Great store and really helpful friendly staff!

best *all purpose* hardware store on cape ann. high quality lumber and whatever else you need for the utmost in one stop shopping. top notch service, super friendly, and helpful- ill even go so far as to say supportive and encouraging! this is especially important if you're a n00b, which i no longer am thanks in part to their help over the years.

Helpful employees. Pretty good selection. The Gloucester crossing one is okay but the Rockport ace is really where it's at. Much larger store they also have a big selection of discount houspaint just ask for the mistake paint.

$400 lawnmower from Ace in Rockport. It's burning oil, rattles and dies. I've had it for less than 6 weeks. I've been using lawnmowers for 20+ years and this has been the worst purchase I've ever made. Ace customer support line told me it's past the 30 day return policy. They won't stand behind their product. They couldn't have cared less. They didnt even ask me any questions about what symptoms the lawnmower was displaying. $400 down the drain. I've used this lawn mower fewer than ten times on a lawn that is 70feet by 70feet. Nothing but bad experiences with Ace Hardware both in Gloucester and in Rockport. They sold me a wheel barrow that was missing a support arm for the wheel assembly and blamed me for the missing part. I should have learned my lesson the first time. What a shame.

All I needed was hardware to reinstall loose tieback for drapes. What I got was excellent service from a floor clerk who helped me not only with the proper choice of hardware, but gave me more support on choosing another product. The service was perfect. Salesman was (?) "Eric", young, pony tail, 5'7", merchandise and computer literate. As a Rockporter, the only place I do shop for all that I need in terms of hardware, household and garden needs will be Smith Hardware/Ace, Rockport.
