This is a very good store for the most part. The prices are surprisingly cheap for a town that is expensive, especially if u shop the sales. My cashier today was pleasant and efficient, and my bill was cheap in my opinion😃. The only reason I give 4 and not 5 stars is because I was going to make a Tex-Mex dish and dry chili peppers were not available.

Based on second shop here on Sat 9/9/23. Excellent stock generally compared to similar stores (there is a Stop & Shop within 5 min walk of my house in NY).Large parking lot with dedicated ADA parking (blue badge)Plants outside entrance are both well-priced and well cared for. Plenty of space indoors and layout of aisles is well labeled at each end. Good discounts available for Go card customers. Used self checkout which functioned without issues.

Update: 4-1-2023 The pictures of signs below are all expired. Customer service from the self- check out lanes was unfriendly.Previously: Unfortunately when I ask the lady at the self checkout lane to adjust the price to the correct/posted price she ALWAYS gives me a hard time. I'm overcharged almost every time I'm there. If it wasn't the only store in Provincetown I'd definitely go somewhere else. And I DO, when I go south to Orleans.

Love this place has everything. Including local and organic products. Knowledgeable. An helpful staff. We used self checkout, and the assistant followed us out as we forgot. To pack a product and left the supermarket.

We were shopping with our grandson and at the time of check out, one of the staff people (Sandra) at the self checkout, was extremely rude with my daughter while she was trying to calm down a 3 year old child. She was insisting that we must pay the paper bags..while we hadnt yet figured out how to enter the loyalty number. I told her it wasn't the first time for us to be at the stop and shop place and we knew what to do, just needed a time, she also responded to me rudely that she is doing her job...like we were stealing a paperbag??? ..she also was annoyed of our grandson who was extremely tired and cranky. If your customer service pay more attention to the staff that is helping customers here MUST BE PATIENCE AND KIND WITH COSTUMERS NOT RUDE!!!

Store is clean and neat. Biggest concern is that the prices are no longer even close to being similar with other locations in the TriState area. They appear to be considerably higher than in last years, even for a beachside enclave.

Got some Taste of Inspirations Deli Oven Roast Chicken. On sale $7.99 a pound. Made a sandwich on light rye. So good!

It’s disgusting how overpriced everything is in this store. This is a greedy food chain that makes billions in profit. I hope they go out of business.I understand how weekly sales work. It’s the price gouging that I don’t understand.

Terrible selection and service. The woman on the self checkout terminals is horrible. Very expensive.

The store is fine. But many customers are too hurried. Shopping here is like playing basketball except the court has a deli, produce and pet food sections.Who can stop and shop when you feel like a hindrance to miserably over-scheduled shoppers? Maybe we're expected to thoughtlessly consume and move along.I'm more comfortable patronizing the little food stores on the cape.

Friendly staff, great sales and lots of goodies in the bakery. Always a go to when in town.

It is probably the only Supermarket in Provincetown and has the expected items for such a store. There were some items missing, especially in the bottled water section but as a vacation beach destination, that can be expected. Certainly, the perfect place to go to stock up for the beach.

Stop and Shop has the advantage in the area that we live in that they are the only major supermarket around. The next closet major market is 30 miles away. Their inventory, cleanliness, hours of operation, parking, and staff helpfulness are all satisfactory. Their digital coupons are a waist of time and un necessary. It's just another step you have to take to get a coupon that most other stores do automatically. I really feel a more accurate rating would be 3.5 stars, but that rating isn't available. I gave them the benefit of the doubt with 4 stars.

Was on vacation in P-town.. Had to buy a few things.. Store was not bad.. The building needs work..The store it self looks old, and not in a good way.. The paint is pealing off around the sign, and singles look well past their sell by date. The inside is better.. Good selection, the checkers and the workers are very nice.. Food is fresh... One thing, the smell of the seafood department is a bit strong.. Again, I think the building needs a good remodel. Venting needs to be improved.. Its really odd too that it looks like Stop and shop took over a shop next door an they just cut two openings into the 2nd shop and added the medical and paper stuff there.. So yeah.. Good food, good place to shop, workers are great.. Just time Stop and shop spend some money and fix this place up.. It really needs it!

Stocking issues continue, prices on many items, including the S&S brands, are tourist mega inflated even compared to their inflated NY prices.Response to S&S Comment: My comment had nothing to do with sale items, rather, I was addressing "regular" priced items. Case in point: A number of S&S brands at this location (Nature's Promise, etc.) were priced up to 50% higher here than elsewhere. Provincetown has an affordable "living" problem that stretches beyond its worsening affordable "housing" troubles. My primary residence (NY) is in one of the most expensive nationwide zip codes, and the Provincetown S&S prices make even the S&S NY inflated prices look like a bush leaguer.

Good grocery store, decent prices. Mostly friendly service. Produce is pretty good. Fish department is good. Being the only major supermarket on the lower Cape, we're lucky to have it in Provincetown. It's owned by Ahold, which isn't as good as a few years ago, and it shows here.

Decent grocery store. Excellent seafood department and variety. Other than that it can get very crowded on a busy day and hard to navigate around some of the tighter corners and areas in the store.Great rotisserie chicken super long lines in the deli though. Parking was easy enough.

We love coming to this Stop N Shop every year when we stay in Provincetown. They always have fresh produce! They have everything set up well for covid to social distance. The staff is always super friendly! Definitely will be back!

The Provincetown Shop and Stop is a bit more expensive than Stop and Shops not on Cape Cod. But the store is clean and they have a good selection of items.

Great catch-all grocery & pharmacy for a small “island” town. Produce and flower departments were always well stocked and fresh!

We visited for a few staples in September. The store was dirty and poorly organized, and many items were out of stock. The staff inside the store went out of their way to be helpful but the parking lot attendant lost control of a too-long line of carts and ran them into the side of my car. Other patrons attempted to prevent the carts from ramming my car but the attendant moved on without acknowledging the accident or apologizing, leaving my car with a scratch. A minor accident, but the attendant's response is an indication of poor training and oversight. I won't be returning.

Nice to have a stop & shop in Provincetown; hard to find other good grocery stores in the area. Of course slightly more expensive than Boston area, but still reasonably priced and well-stocked. Lots of free parking available. Just like any other stop & shop.

The produce is wonderful. The selection of cheeses is wonderful. I can always find something that I must have. Whether it's just some yummy nibbles, or a beautiful filet of haddock, or wonderful beef steak. Oh my....I really enjoy this store.
