I bring my anxious 10 year old Yorkie mix to VCA Plymouth and I could not be more pleased with the care he receives every time he is there. The front desk staff is friendly and thorough, the techs are awesome with my dog, and all of the doctors are great, knowledgeable people. I'm so grateful to have VCA Plymouth care for my best buddy. Eddie loves you guys!!!

Front desk staff was courteous, which is the best I can say.I made an appointment specifically because I wanted my cats to receive a 3 year rabies vaccine. Administering a 1 year vaccine with no forewarning is why I left my last vet.Arrived at 4:50 pm for 5:00 pm and 5:30 back to back appointments. Sat in the waiting room until 5:25 pm (even the front desk staff couldn't figure out why I wasn't in an exam room yet; I overheard them discussing it). The minute I set foot in an exam room, I was finally told they do not offer 3 year rabies vaccines. A massive waste of my time, for which I left work early.

As a former vet tech, I can genuinely say that I have 0 complaints. I had to bring my 4 year old cat for a dental and was very hesitant to bring him to a new place as a client (and not as an employee where I know what goes on and can stay with my pets etc). However, the entire process was very smooth from start to finish, great communication from the doctors, the techs and the receptionists. They called me throughout his procedure and kept me well updated. Ended up paying less than the estimate too. I would absolutely recommend them. Thank you again for taking care of my best little friend.

Worst experience I have ever had at a Vet for MY DOG! It is about the animals health. This location has multiple employees who are causing conflict in the workplace. I am no longer going to this establishment. A rabies and Parvo vaccine was administered in my dogs right rear leg... both at the same time. I saw with my own eyes. Then the vet Dr. Breckenhead lied to my face saying she administered them both in different locations. On top of that, the communication and customer satisfaction is not there at all. Everyone here but Brie and Jenifer have been rude. Emma Pomarico will smile in your face and then say you were rude to here. As well as Haley Mcdonough and Jackie Willit. I do not. I repeat I do not, recommend taking your beloved precious animal here. If you care about your animal and communication do not bring them here. New employees are needed. Desk receptionist are not up to task to maintain a phone call. They sit and talk behind eachothers backs. Can not handle a professional matter. They treat customers with low level respect and then expect people to know everything about their pet when you have a question. Dr. Breckenhead told me look it up on google. So here I am making a review on how disappointed I am in this Establishment. As Todd Lavender being the President of The VCA, I expect more of a professional curtesy. The people at this animal hospital do not need to treat people as they do. If they feel upset over a phone call regarding an animal in any instance they are not fit for this job. Multiple people have said I was rude to cover their own tracks. I will make sure this one reaches the top chain of command. If I could give - stars I would. Absolutely disappointed.

The pet resort is fantastic. We have used them with two of or dog's and both of them loved it. The staff is so friendly and caring . I highly recommend . As you can see Fiona was having a great time and got plenty of exercise.

Quite a joke that a “hospital” doesn’t allow walk-ins. Folks, make sure to know ahead of time that your pet is going to be sick so you can schedule an appointment.

My two dogs spent 8 days in their boarding facility while I was on vacation. The staff was really nice and sent me several pictures of the dogs while I was away. Seeing both of them having a good time made me feel secure. I highly recommend VCA for both veterinary care and boarding. Not only did I have a vacation but the dogs did as well!!!

I used to love this place, but now Idk.Three years ago or so, my vet moved away and never reached out to tell me,nor did the hospital. In my dogs final months, she had a whole new vet and I felt so angry at not getting ANYTHING from the hospital about it until I suddenly couldn't schedule her on the app anymore, and had to ask about her during my next visit.I've never really felt like I had the same relationship after that with the staff. They are nice and I do feel that they do an excellent job with my current dogs health, but this has always sat in the back of my mind. I don't see the same vet anymore either unless I want to wait a full month or more.

We love the Plymouth VCA! We take our puppy Lady for routine grooming appointments. She comes back to us smelling LOVELY, so fresh and clean. And, happy! She loves the staff, and we do too! Everyone we’ve spoken to is very friendly and helpful. We’ve also taken Lady here for her annual check-up and vaccines and the Dr. couldn’t have been nicer. I’d highly recommend the Plymouth VCA!

I've brought my husky here numerous times and never once had an issue. The staff are exceptionally nice and helpful. They call the next day and ask how your pet is doing. However, I recently brought my cat here. She has stage 3 periodontal disease. The vet explained she needed surgery and I agreed, VCA has always done me right so I trusted their opinions. I schedule the surgery and my estimate was $1300. I recently left my job but had enough saved for this surgery. I bring my cat for her blood work and the staff on the phone said it would cost $167 for blood work. I agreed, not a super bad price. Time to checkout and the total was just about $400. I was very confused but paid anyway figuring they had made a mistake in the pricing on the phone or maybe I misheard. One week before surgery I get an email on the expected price of surgery, $1800-$2200. My original estimate was $1300. I don't understand how it could bump up so drastically. I didn't save that much money for surgery they said was $1300. What could they have left out in the surgery that was worth $500-$900 more. That's a significant amount to have not included in the original estimate. Long story short, I canceled surgery and found a vet who does it for $600. Ridiculously overpriced.

They don't see things through. Our cat need dental work that turned into surgery. We were told that if any complications occurred, to call at once. A few days later, we called and were told they did not have an opening for several days and to keep trying every day or go to the emergency room. Receptionist was not helpful and poor customer service was apparent. Tried to get an appointment to more times for ongoing problems. A challenge every time. We were eventually able to get appointments. The doctors are very nice. They treated our cat twice and said if that didn't work he would need surgery. When we called to schedule the next steps, we requested to discuss with the doctor. No return phone call. Had to call and explain again the problem and we were told that they could not treat him and we had to see a specialist. That's after 2,000 dollars. Why not do the right thing and tell us that from the beginning? Our cat has been coming here for his entire life. Will not go here again. It's a shame because once you get in there, the doctors are really nice. Customer service trying would be extremely helpful.

We went here today for the first time because our dog has an ear infection . I called first thing this morning they were able to get me an appointment same day(that wasn’t considered an emergency visit.. since we all know those cost more!) when I got there they had already pulled all of my dogs records from our previous vet and didn’t need any information from me , it was great considering I’m lugging around a one year old as well. The vet tech was so nice and easy to talk to as well as the vet. This by far has been one of the better experiences we have had at a vet ! Would recommend to anyone .. we are changing both our dogs to this facility.

I really like this VCA. The staff are always nice and they get you in on time or with only a short wait. They seem knowledgeable and take the time to answer any questions or concerns you may have. I brought my dog in a couple of weeks ago, after she had been hit by a car while we were walking through a cemetery (not badly, thank God) and they got me right in, were reassuring and called me the following day to see how she was doing. It was much appreciated. They're not cheap, but worth it, especially in an emergency.

The staff was so friendly and welcoming. I love how kind they were to my pets. I also love how they have the pet care program where you pay a monthly fee and all office visits are covered no matter how often you go!

Had a very sick cat and hadn't found a local vet, due to covid it seemed like no one was taking new patients. The VCA got us in that same day. My cat on a good day isn't very cooperative aka evil. They were amazing with her and she's feeling much better. Technicians were great and the vet called the next day with lab results and to check on my cat. 😻

Brought my 8 week old dachshund in for an appointment here and they were extremely friendly. My puppy felt safe and comforted. He got a shot and his nails clipped and it didn't bother him a bit. Dr. Lee was very friendly and very informative. Answered almost all my questions before I even asked. I'm sure Guster will be happy to go back to them in a couple weeks. Also, it was very nice in there. Clean and friendly staff. 👍🏽😄

I am a new customer here with three young pups. I have been here twice and met two vets..they were both awesome with my pups and with me. They spend time looking at my babies and willing to stay and discuss any questions and/or concerns I have.about them. It has been very nice not to be rushed in and out.

I was told after just being there that the follow up appointment would be free. They lied and charged me $56.00. My rescue shih tzu needed grooming after waiting for an appt and then them canceling one, my dog now is very knotted. They showed so sense of urgency. And acted like they could care less. It is now going on 3 months and now they tell me December. They told me they have no staff. Not professional. Looking for another place after this grooming. Sad and upset!!

These people do NOT care about animals, what they DO care about is money! They wanted to rip out all my tiny dog's teeth, I got a second opinion and they helped my little pooch, he didn't need one extraction. They won't do ANYTHING unless they figure out a way to overcharge you, and I cannot tell you how bad a place this is. i expect they won't be here much longer, they get a lot of bad reviews....I'm not the only one. They can take any visit and triple what any other vet would charge, and they're vets are not good as noted above. BEWARE....money hungry, not animal loving - it's a big business that's all!!!!

I'm giving this two stars because of the great care from Dan Stewart and the techs during my visits to VCA. I'd personally give him 5 stars, but my review is based on the animal hospital and the nickel and diming I've experienced. This is far from an inexpensive vet, but knowing that being in the VCA network gave me access to 24 hour service was worth the added cost. It's a clean facility and most everyone there is friendly.I'm rating this poorly due to the care I received in a time of need. My dog is suffering from an ear infection, something that consistently returns for him. They prescribed him drops that provide him with relief and the initial prescription was able to last me over a year (30 mg vial). Upon requesting a refill, they would not prescribe to me without coming in for another $70 visit. Their excuse is this could be something else and they need to see him, yet they prescribed a 30 mg bottle on the initial visit, not the cheaper 5 or 10 mg bottle that would have run its course from the initial infection that prompted the prescription. It's one thing to hit me in the wallet, but I'm suffering circumstances that haven't allowed me the time to schedule a visit (caring for a sick family member). I was due for an appointment in April, so there should have been no harm I'm prescribing me the medication to relieve the symptoms and if some reason it didn't work, they could have went with an alternative during my next visit (and hit me for the cost of two prescriptions).Prior to this I would have had nothing but good things to say (other than it's pricey). When I needed it most they failed me. I will never return to VCA. I have two dogs and spend thousands there every year. I'm looking forward to better care in the future and most likely added relief in my wallet.

Our rescue dogs love the VCA in Plymouth....and we do too. We had an issue with one of our dogs that 2 other vet offices couldn't fix. Dr Lear got it on the first try and our dog is like a younger version of herself now. We could not be more thankful to the Dr's and staff we have met during our visits. We highly recommend the Plymouth VCA!

The staff and doctors are very knowledgeable and professional. I wouldn't take my dog anywhere but here. The pet resort is also very good. I've left my dog there a few times during the day. its very reasonable and I feel comfortable knowing that if anything happens hes already at the vet.

Bottom line: Don't go here. Not only are they extremely expensive and pricey but they are difficult to reach. I have been trying to get a prescription for my dog which is necessary for her quality of life due to a severe collapsed trachea. They left me a message that they've written it and that it needs to be picked up. I came before six PM and it was clear that the staff were still in the building. We followed their instructions to call from the car but no one answered multiple times. We could see staff members walking around so my husband and I walked up wearing masks. All we wanted was the prescription. A staff person came out and said that today they are having a staff appreciation party and closed down everything early at five. She and another staff member were clearly having fun and were throwing things at each other. I told her we did not know about their staff appreciation party and that all we need is the prescription for my poor dog's collapsed trachea which was already written. This staff member repeated that the office was closed down early for the staff appreciation party, even though there were more staff members inside and that she could not get it for me.I'm BEYOND frustrated with this place and I certainly don't appreciate the lack of care from these people. I told the young staff member who I was talking to, who had long brunette hair, this and told her that I am going to leave VCA. She smiled and said "Okay, bye!" And waved bye to me. COMPLETELY unprofessional. I've never been treated this way by a professional business. I do not appreciate this staff member nor do I think VCA should if this is the behavior their employee shows to a customer. The best advice I can give you is to stay away from this place and the staff.

Extremely expensive. Obviously overpricing. Deeply regret not researching first. We were shocked at the $1200 charge for routine/common enough checks. If you go, make sure you understand exactly what they are charging you before they do anything. It sounds like they are almost purposely confusing by the sound of other reviews I’ve read online. Yikes.
