I bought some pre-cut fruit that (to my horror) I saw was five days past the expiration date! To make matters worse, the item in particular was pre-cut coconut, so it had a particularly disgusting smell and funky thick slime all over the flesh of the coconut. I understand that staffing is tight and worker morale is probably low during this holiday season, but there's no reason that fresh coconut chunks that EXPIRED ON 12/25 should still be on the shelves on 12/30. Absolutely nasty. Thank god it was me, a healthy 20 year old, that discovered this and was able to avoid eating the spoiled food. I can't imagine how sick an elderly person or a little kid would be if they ate it instead.If this location doesn't have the sense to check the dates on their cut/prepared fruit section (which is much smaller than most other sections in the store) I would be very skeptical about purchasing meat or dairy products here. Yikes!

One of the better Stop and Shops. Larger and well lighted. Not much of a ghost town as the other ones but still not many customers to bump into.Typical produce selection. Advice, always get the ice cream when it’s on sale. Never know when you need to make a good day better!

Shout out to Bill in the bakery area for being so kind and helpful in decorating my kiddo’s birthday cake last minute!! He even thought to put my son’s name in print so he can read it & reminded me to get candles and directed me to the ice cream isle! So grateful for him today!!

I usually don't do my grocery shopping here but they carry 1 item that Market Basket doesn't carry. This market is EXTREMELY expensive compared to Market Basket. Especially with meat & non-grocery items like toilet paper, paper towels & cleaning products. I just can't believe some of their prices! The store is clean & some of the workers are friendly but the prices are just too high. Market Basket is much further from where I live but it's worth it!!

Was treated in a bizarre, disrespectful and rude manner by customer service employee Cathy, and store manager Michael McKenna. The issue was over a change to a raincheck change made by a Plainville Stop n Shop customer employee over a month ago, which they claimed the customer service employee hadn't made; they had. The issue was eventually resolved, but only after verbal abuse, disrespect from the customer service employee and store manager. After I asked for the name and phone of the regional manager, the store manager acted in a slimy manner; laughed at me, and provided the name; Vinod, but refused to give his phone number.There are other supermarkets nearby including a larger Stop and Shop. Go there.

I always shop at Plainville location because it’s close to my house but I’ve started to notice that the service has turned upside down. The register guy at lotto counter was not nice ,his name is Brian, young adult. He has no service mind, using bad tone and throw money on the counter which is bad demeanor. Honestly, the price in stop and shop is higher than other supermarket.I can save a lot to go shopping at Market Basket and staffs there are well trained and more professional!!!

Consistently have come home to cook meat purchased here on the same day to find out it’s gone bad with a rancid smell upon opening it. Usually it’s ground beef and steak that have been the issue not poultry They’re great about refunds when it’s happened but it’s not worth the risk when we have young kids at home a million things going on to have dinner ruined and it’s shocking that it’s a consistent issue that hasn’t improved.

The rise in prices here are nearly criminal. No one should spend $100 for a SINGLE BAG of groceries. Basic snacks and a case of water. Their prices are INFURIATING. I'm not sure how people are ok with this, Criminal.

Whatever happened to when asking an associate a question they find the answer for you. Instead they say ‘I don’t know’ and walk away and lead you to ask the next person and get the same response. Clearly not being trained correctly or only care about their timing it takes them on getting the groceries for the online orders so they can get to the top of the leaderboard. Seems to be the only priority the employees have here. What about the people who actually got up to shop for themselves?

The BEST location!! Great shopping here. Awesome, helpful staff. Clean and easy to get in and out. Plenty of parking. Recently in and assisted by Stepanie, who loves working there. Very positive employee. It was a pleasure speaking with her. Dan, the manager, was available, responsive and personable. Most folks barely have a minute to read the reviews, so I chose this over the survey. Thank you!

I saved up my winning lottery tickets to cash and do my shopping. Arosa at the desk said she didn't have time to cash my lottery tickets she couldn't be bothered for me to scan them at this self machine and bring the voucher to her for cash. So I started to do that when I got to 100. I got a message and called lady over. She now said I could only get scratch tickets...I said no I need to shop. After asking for manager I could only get scratch tickets and no cash for my groceries.Their license should be taken from lottery for refusing to give cash for winning lottery tickets. What a scam

Five stars goes to Marissa, Michelle, and Kris, who at around 7:45 on 9/30/2021 patiently, quietly, and professionally handled what I think was the biggest "Karen" of them all; who was giving them some serious hard time about her 15+ various item return, the deli hours, and who knows what else. These 3 women had handled the situation so well that I walked back into the store to get their names so I could leave this review. They were much, much more cordial than they had to be and deserve some sort of recognition for their work in keeping the situation calm and orderly.

quick and easy place to get your groceries. the deli is fast and professional, and the bakery does a good job. management seems to sut around a lot though, and cashiers change frequently.

Just got home with my order. Groceries were tossed into bags, kid packing did not double bag 3 heavy bags, and jammed 3 1/2 gallons of milk sideways into bags. Inside of back of my car is covered in milk and bottoms tore through both bags with milk in them. I'm very angry at this carelessness, and, needless to say, won't be shopping here anymore. Market Basket here I come!

Nothing's ever in the same place twice. A few years ago they redid the store and got rid of 1/3 their product. And most of the people working there don't have any idea what's going on. I was in line for 13 minutes because they had only 2 register open. Then a clerk tried to help me on the self check out and it stopped working 4 times. Total time to checkout time 22 minutes. Their so Incompetent.

I really love the renovations. When you walk in the store it is bright and clean. I have to get used to where things are now but will be so worth it. I enjoy shopping here.

This location is pretty big. Like all minimum wage workers, the employees don't ever seem to be too enthused to be there. I'm not a huge fan of the bagging area on some of the registers with the rotating sections. It just seems to be counterproductive for larger orders. Also, we once stopped by the deli a little after 6:30pm to get a roasted chicken, but they were out. There was a sign on the front of the display saying that if they are out of roasted chicken before 7pm, they'll give you a coupon for a free chicken another time. My husband asked the woman who was working there if he could get the coupon for the chicken and she just sort of laughed and walked towards the back. We thought she was going to get a coupon for him. We waited for almost ten minutes before asking the man slicing meat at the deli. He then mentions "oh you have to go to customer service for that" and then proceeded to make jokes about us to his coworkers. It was definitely offputting.

Very good grocery store although they do not sell alcohol here. Crazy the grocery stores around here do not sell alcohol kind of odd to me. I am from Ohio so maybe that is why.Anyway the store was great?n everything was organized and has everything you typically could want.

Every other time I shop at Stop & Shop, it doesn't recognize my or my wife's store discount card so we can't use the Gizmo that scans and totals you groceries as you go. This last time, it made me realize that the other few grocery store chains in the area don't even have those cards any more. So, I'll be shopping at wherever is closest now since it's just easier.

Seemed like they reduced the size of the produce section 🤔. Maybe to reduce the visual impact of low stock levels. A week before Thanksgiving. Clean, plenty of space and very nice staff.

Great variety. The fruit was very fresh. We were able to get our son all the groceries he needed in one stop instead of having to go to several markets.👍
