Horrible service from general manager John. Lost 240$ in fish due to false information twice now. I call and he tells me I can buy all the fish I lost at his store location and he will give me 20 percent off but the store has no salt water fish on hand due to an algae problem I’m a rewards pet member and was treated like a regular smegular when I spend money there. So if you have salt water fish don’t be surprised if your tank gets ruined

Caitlin in the fish department is an absolute gem and incredibly helpful! They knew everything we needed about starting a new tank and gave plenty of helpful advice! If you need anything for your aquatic pet or need help starting out go ask Caitlin!!!

If I could give a negative review, I would. I had bought fish here and they were dead before I got home. Maybe the cold? Could be, so I called and they told me to bring them back and they would replace them. Went back today to buy new fish, I was told by the 'manager' that the girl who dealt with fish was putting in an order and I would have to 'bear with her'. I asked if anyone else could help me, he said 'no'. I said well can't she help me and then return to her order. He said no, the animals come first at Petco, not the customers.... How do you even respond to that. I have no words. Regardless, I left and won't ever return there. Went to another pet store, was so much cleaner, and the employees greeted us upon entering and helped us immediately.

OMG! The salt water tanks are atrocious. You name it, they got it. Red slime algae, green hair algae, dirty tanks, etc. Yet they still charge full price for the fish. I was told there is no refund or exchange on any salt water fish or coral. I won't be going back there again!

Never coming to petco again. Cashier, she had curly hair in a ponytail with a headband and glasses, I think she was the manager, was extremely rude. I used to always come to petco and have good experiences. I came to her with a concern and treated me like an idiot. So I apologized because 'how dare I come to her with a concern about a LIVE ANIMAL THATS IN HER STORE'. So I got my item, brought it up to the desk, and paid, she asked for my phone number, I declined, and paid. When I left she asked if I wanted my receipt, I said no, and she yells "YOU DO KNOW NO RECEIPT NO RETURNS RIGHT?!" I'm not stupid I'm not going to return this?? She needs a retraining. Never treat your customers like they are stupid.

I purchased a beta fish in great Barrington and it died overnight. The fish was $23. I called great Barrington store and nobody answered so I called Pittsfield store. I explained to the girl that I had pictures and a receipt but not the fish. I asked if I could go in and get another. She said the manager said I could. When I got there the manager said very loudly that isn't our policy and people got fired for doing that. Then she turned to the workers and asked if one of them took the call. Of course hearing they could get fired, they denied it. I will never shop there again

Store manager John was amazing. He was extremely helpful in my pets experience and I was able to get everything I needed, and much more that I didn’t even know I needed. I’m so grateful I came to this store!

Really mean staff played me for a fool. The cashier offered a bag. and I said "yes please", and then she just gave me an evil grin and said "thank you have a nice day". I did not deserve to be pranked especially after spending 100.00 dollars. Never going in there again.

I just had a grooming appointment for my goldendoodle and I am definitely coming back! For a dog my type I definitely recommend Marie, she did a spectacular job. She was very kind and my dog has never looked better! This was the 3rd Petco I have tried for grooming and the only one I will be returning to, very professional and definitely experienced!

Petco truly does not care about their animal practices and only care about the money they get from each sale. The in store setups on bettas and ferrets and a bunch of other animals are completely wrong and are inhumane. Pet Supplies Plus at least puts bettas in bigger containers, and the ferrets are in a 3-tier cage. They even have water bowls, not bottles. This petco is a corporate throw away with a horrible store that does not care for the animals or his employees. I've seen him talk disrespectfully to his employees, and his handling and care of animals is awful.

Went for supplies. Hate the prices, but it's not petcos fault. That's where we're at. But other then the 180 for 1 half filled paper bag 😂 I love petco. They have the bugs I need, and supplies I need always in stock. Can't say anything bad about petco. Plus I love visiting the animals they have.

The Pet Co. staff are just wonderful in assisting me with my purchases. Often ,well almost always, I need help in carrying my bag of dog food to my car. One member, named Jacob, when seeing me in the store will stop whatever he is doing to say to call when I'm ready to leave to help transfer my purchase to the car. It may seem like a small gesture of kindness to others but I am now a new widow and I am so grateful to have his help. Thank you.

So i went to the Pittsfield store to return an item for my fish tank and when i asked if they had anymore in stock ,bc the day before i had bought two tops for my fish tank and one if them didn’t come with the plastic piece i called and ask if they had anymore instock and the guy said they would be getting a shipment tmrw so they should have them in, i went back in the next day and the the guy and the girl basically did t even wanna try to see if they had any instock witch the truck just came in that day the guy first was like idk try back in a day or two and mind u there was a storm coming and then i figured id ask another associate bc he blew me off quick. She then also said “ idk you should try online !!!!!! Like seriously aren’t you employed here to sell things and make the customers wanna come back ?? Idk if they where having a bad day or what but that in my eyes was super unexceptionable !! They should be retrained. There was more to the story bc i also went to by fish but i wont get i to that !! I hope this changes soon !!!!

PetCo, this is absolutely disgraceful, even for you. This bearded dragon very obviously has an infection or injury in his mouth and numerous toes missing. He needs VET CARE ASAP. There is no reason he should be put up for sale in such condition. I considered alerting your staff directly, but the last time I did so regarding an underweight and lethargic beardie I was defensively snapped at. So instead I'm just going to make it known: As per usual, PetCo Pittsfield is all about money and not about animal care. I will never be purchasing from this store again. Shame on you.

HEATHER IS THE BEST TRAINER, HANDS DOWN!!! I just posted pictures of my 2lb Chihuahua on her graduation 🎓 party from Canine Good Citizen classes! She and her best Golden buddy graduated with flying colors! And that is not the only class I took with Heather! She took my bumbling puppy and taught her to sit, down, stay, come and overall just be amazing!!!! Please do yourself a favor and make an appointment with Heather right after you get a puppy! I came into this Petco, which is my local store. I was walking all over the store looking for an item for my kitty when a young man noticed my confusion and distress trying to find this item. He was so nice help me find and even went to the extent of making the best recommendations to his knowledge. It’s was very much appreciate it. Such a great experience.

I went here and brought my Pup, and the staff immediately acknowledged me and my dog. They asked if they could pet her, gave her some love, and then they offered help for whatever I was looking for, This day, I was looking for a petsafe fence system and have very specific needs for the area .. etc.. and the staff member took every type out and read the boxes with me and helped to find the one that is best for our needs she even consulted other team members about particulars and this person shared their experience with this fence system too. It was not a small purchase, and I appreciated the input and knowledge. I went in not knowing, but then left assured that I had what I needed. If you're looking for things for your pets and want friendly, knowledgeable people who are eager to help, then this is the pet store for you.. they even do grooming, and all of the animals seemed very happy to be there. I will be a returning customer for sure.

Nice and clean but so hard to find items. It's like a scavenger hunt, because things are in multiple areas and the aisles are haphazardly at odd angles.Also, the cashiers will suddenly stop ringing up an order to answer a phone without a word to the customer at the register. Do the cashiers really have to be the receptionist, too?

Went in for an aquarium bulb. Despite not having it, I did notice that their fish were more reasonable than Bensons (who also didn't have the bulb). Turns out, the plug was slightly unplugged and the bulb is fine! I will be back to get some new fish.

If you're looking for a small pet/pets to add to your family I'd definitely look here first! Their Guinea Pigs are amazing. I couldn't be happier with the kind staff too. Most times I come in I'm greeted by a super friendly cashier that goes out of their way to help. We have 2 very happy and healthy babies from this shop ❤

There are times when other retailers have a better price on the same item so I ma likely to shop around. That is why I rated an 8 on likeliness to shop there again. The 10 was due to the fact that I could shop from work and pick up on my way home with no real delay and the worker was super nice. Its about time you hired some good people in that store. To be honest a lot of why I started looking at other stores was due to the attitude of the employees at that location.

We purchased a 40 gallon breeder tank in August 5thin the Pittsfield ma location. We waited to set it up because we needed to buy the salt and gravel for the tank before we set it up. The third week of October I noticed the tank was bowing at the top. I was concerned the tank was defective and was going to break loose. I called Petco and spoke with the manager and asked him if it would be possible to exchange the tank because of the defect. He told me no there was nothing he could do because it was past the 60 day return policy. I explained to him it was only like a week week and a half past the 60 days and the tank was defective it's not like I'm asking for my money back I just want to replace the tank so it don't break in my house. He(Cale) told me absolutely not it's against company policy. I then called customer service and somehow I was transferred to another Petco store and the gentleman there told me that he wouldn't have a problem replacing it seeing it was defective he just couldn't give me my money back. But the store was too far away to do that. I then called Petco customer service again to file a complaint with the district manager who was supposed to call me back within three business days it's now been over a week. Petco does not stand behind their product.

Had our dog, Sadie, groomed yesterday at Pittsfield PetCo. So happy they are open again(grooming department) because it’s hard to find people who do what they do for the price and more importantly the way they treat my girl.Ashley was the groomer yesterday and she’s WONDERFUL! Extremely knowledgeable when it comes to her job and offering advice. We were pretty happy with everything except one thing-nail trim. Sadie doesn’t like her paws touched. However, she never has and we’ve always taken her to pEtCo for trims with no issue. Ashley wasn’t able to finish the trim yesterday so Sadie’s nails are still too long. She said by that time Sadie was over it and kept pulling her paws.I’m disappointed as that was why we even made the appointment-she didn’t need to be groomed but figured it included nail trim so why not?! Just wish the trim was finished.Ashley was terrific over all.
