I love this supermarket. They have wonderfully fresh seafood. I come here for the fresh little neck clams and steamers. Never disappointed. The variety of products in Big Y is extensive. This market is a little farther but I am willing to drive a little longer for good seafood. If you have a Big Y membership, you can earn reward points and save money on gas at the Big Y gas pumps (just like BJ and Costco with no membership fees).

Breakfast area isn’t ready for business in the morning. Show up 30 minutes after opening and the muffin and doughnut case is completely empty. Management and employees don’t seem to care. How do you not have breakfast food ready for breakfast this is just poor business ethics. Guess I’ll be driving out of my way for breakfast in the morning cause I can’t waste time going here just to find out that their not ready and I’m going to have to go without breakfast.

Meh. Nothing world class here except smug & dismissive employees.As a 1st time shopper and out of state visitor, by choice being in Pittsfield, I was underwhelmed and even insulted into being a 1x shopper.I could've given a higher rating but I doubt that based on a some staff interactions with attitudes.Specifically, my wife tipped over a glass pop bottle while unloading our cart. When she picked it up it fizzed and leaked through the cap. We both saw it. The cashier immediately ORDERED her in a loud voice to leave it alone, assuming it had broken (it hadn't) Admittedly that may have been due to her assumptioned it was broken glass. My wife assured her it was not broken but was leaking. She was then ordered to step away from the cart altogether and a cleanup for glass was made for on the PA.When he showed up a determination was made that there was no broken glass. My wife and I had both noticed it had sprayed & leaked though and as such my wife said she didn't want that one but would take the other 4 (they were 5 for $5)Unfortunately, both of the employees blew that off and disputed her assertation saying there wasn't anything wrong with it, even insisting my wife was wrong! My wife simply pointed out the obvious leakage on the floor...which both were loath to accept. Enough said. I'll leave the 2 grumpy-why-are-you-bothering-me employees out of it that I encountered. Maybe that's the norm anyway.As it is, the 2nd star was due to some nice price points on unique or local offerings.I can think of another market across town I had intended to go to. I'll go there at least 32 more times before thinking about coming back to Big Why.

I love getting lunch at their wing bar. It's always stocked with all sorts of tasty foods and sides and is well worth the $9.99/lb and items differ day to day

It never was a problem till today if anyone knows it can be embarrassing if you don't have enough money so you have to compromise put some things back. So I got done and a worker comes up to me about items I didn't scan well the whole store doesn't need to know my business it embarrassing enough to have to put things back . We are supposed to be adults here so what if u were saying u didn't want me yo get in trouble like I didn't know that I couldn't pay for that instead u make a scene like I was gona take I shop there all the time . So ty for embarrassing me . If you had saw thar I was gona come to u on way out here I can't pay for these. No instead I didn't want u to get in trouble . Should not be quick to judge .

I always find items I don't see in other grocery stores which I really like. Their prices are a bit higher but the sales are good and I make sure I load every offer and coupon I can.

I am enjoying the scanning as I go option and self checkout with my phone. Good discounts too with a Big Y card like $2.20 off of agave light today and always 5cents off of gas with the card and more off gas the more groceries you get up to $1.50 off at a time.

The last few month shopping a lot Big Y has been a nightmare. I have gotten expires turkey pepperoni, onions that have rotted , strawberries with mold, basically raw rotisserie chicken and now today expired pork rinds(dates 7/17/23…this place is going to get someone severely sick or kill them because of their negligence.

I can't believe how rude the workers have become here. Not all but most. Many are aloof, many won't help you and some are belligerent. They used to have super polite ppl. I've decided to spend as less as possible here.

Very busy store all the time. Could use more cashiers and service help. Bring your own bags. Limited bottle/cans returns machines and rules. Sales are usually very good. Produce is tops and very fresh. Sometimes shelves are empty of product. Great pet food/toys selections.

Big y is a great market for your every day food and drink items. The selection is great. Prices are so so as the cost of food itself has increased. And the entree's that big y cooks themselves & thier pizza is just great,so tasty and filling. The big y has come a LONG way over the years. Now the STAFF/employees, that's a whole different story. I have noticed that a few of the guys that work there who are actually managers of some sort are VERY RUDE,just unnecessary rude.they don't say excuse me,walk and even stand directly in front of ya and God forbid if u have a question for them. NOT something I ever tolerate. And I do need to say that there was 1 ONE manager who actually DID help me. I needed a couple of milk crates and though he was busy, he still walked across the store and got them for me from the back but most managers are cocky & rude. A little too big for thier britches,I'd say. All in all and due to the food they cook and sell,I would recommend this store(if u can manage to steer clear of managers.

Terrible terrible prices. The produce is less than desirable. The management is a joke as far as corporate and the store are concerned. I feel awful for the sales associates as they have little to no direction or support from their superiors. Every once in a while they'll have a sale that's worth stopping by for but I recommend Stop and Shop way before dropping your standards and shopping at the North Adams Big Y.

I've shopped at this particular Big Y literally for decades. I like the fact that it's large enough to have a decent selection, but small enough to be manageable. The staff is always friendly and helpful, from the department managers down to the baggers and cart return guys. The main reason I'm reviewing it today, though, is that my only complaint has been the long lines at busy times-- like everyone around here, they're having a hard time finding enough employees, and up until now they had no self-checkout. That's finally changed-- their self-checkout lines opened today, and it definitely made a difference in getting out of there quickly while the store was pretty crowded.

Very large building. Lots of aisle space easy to get around great selection and good prices. I enjoyed my shopping experience. Also have beer, wine and liquor next door but in the same building.

We are visiting the Berkshires for the first time and we were really impressed with Big Y. Not knowing what to except, we found the store well stocked, very clean, and filled with a very helpful staff. Whether it was the deli slicer making small talk with my son and myself or the woman behind the customer service counter helping with the lottery tickets, every representative treated us like first-class. The prices were exactly what we expected and the sales were phenomenal. Parking was never a problem and the carts were being sprayed down between each use.

Probably my favorite grocery store in Pittsfield. Almost always well stocked, lines are never too long, and they have a large variety of options and local goods.Also try their pizza, it's absolutely amazing.
