VCA killed my dog. It had been a while since we had to take him to the vet since most of the basics (shots and checkups) were getting done much more cost effectively through Petco. So because it had been a while, they spitefully refused to treat him when he fell significantly ill even though they had all his records and we pleaded with them to help. We wound up at an emergency vet clinic in CT where he died. He was our dog, not an inactive client, and we miss him terribly. I don't recommend ANY VCA facility to care for your pet. They won't help you if you aren't an adequate source of revenue.

Early in 2021 my dog was very senior and having issues and I called the local vet who would not speak to me because it was not a paying client.By Fate, I called VCA and they answered my question and I asked about having to let her go but I wasn't ready yet and they answered all my questions and told me about a vet Dr Atkins who does in-home euthanasia.When I return from my surgery it was time to call Dr Atkins right after my surgery not only was it best because I couldn't walk but I always told my girl I wanted her to die next to me if she ever did. Well I got my wish!Normally when you go to a vet they will bring in one syringe and give them half of it and the dog is pretty limp (I can't speak for VCA on that),Dr Atkins does it in three stages in the first stage the dog gets the biggest wooden spoon I've ever seen in my life of peanut butter LOL.It was the most elating experience and the most dignified way for me to say goodbye.Good things come out of bad situations, because of the bad vet not helping me I found VCA who helped me find Dr Atkins.I now have a new 5-month-old puppy who I'm training to be an emotional support dog because I'm a veteran with PTSD.Who would you decide to go to if you had a new puppy after your previous experience and found such wonderful people to give you such wonderful advice and information?VCA rocks!Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for what you did and what you're going to be doing with my new baby Joe!!!This is the best veterinarian clinic I've been to in many years! I was using the second chance community veterinarian hospital in Springfield massachusetts. Originally where they were located I found them to be very effective and it helped that they went by income based. When they moved to mulberry Street (Dr Seuss lived on that street). I just found the change and the change in staff to be not comfortable to trust not that they did anything wrong I just didn't feel comfortable with them anymore.I did another review about this wonderful VCA animal hospital they help me with a previous dog.I didn't care about cost this time do and not you second chance but this wonderful VCA has a health program to help you out so much per month you pay whether you go or not and when you need help no office visits and they can tell you more! I do not doubt I found the right place!

Hands down the best bet I have ever been to. We’ve lived in 4 different states and have been to many vets and Palmer VCA is the best. They are kind, responsive, and experienced. They have always been there for us through regular check ups and emergencies. We love them!

This is a great place to take your pets. They are open evenings too if you work a 9-5. I will definitely be bringing my pup back here when it's time to see the vet. The staff are all friendly and attentive to your pets needs. They all love my dog Dina too!!!

I usually try to stay positive in my reviews but at this point, I have nothing left with this place. To be fair, the staff was always courteous and nice. Although over the phone they seemed under prepared for the conversations.Office visits/calls: I don't know how many times I was on hold and had to explain why I was on the phone to a new person, during exams everyone come out individually to the vehicle so I could never tell when the visit was over, or not over, 2,3,4 visits to the car by different people, maybe come up with a process?I cannot really rate their skills, my 6 yr old dog was healthy and had a surgery there, she died before she could complete the recovery process. There is simply no way to tell why because it was after 4pm and everyone was closed. What I can say is when I was paying them I got return calls and service. Once my pet was in the ground it took a month to get a return call on someone's way out the door. It's like since the dog is gone they got distance fast as possible. And since you pay upfront I now have to chase them for all the services they never rendered. I guess just be aware, if something happens this place will probably bail on you, if its all good maybe your fine.

This was my first and probably last experience with this hospital. Since covid, I haven't left home very often, but it is really beyond time to take my cat for an exam.It's very unfortunate that they are currently understaffed and can't accept new patients.My former vet was also understaffed occasionally, and she would find someone who could be there temporarily so that nobody was turned away. The receptionist was pleasant, but could offer no idea when they might be able to accept a new patient ... perhaps I could check in a month or two.I would suggest that under the circumstances they might change their ad from saying "$20 off the first visit" to "Not able to accept new patients at this time."

Even with the precautions in effect due to the pandemic, the staff is friendly. Everything was done efficiently and safely. I knew my cat was in good hands. Update - i had to schedule an urgent visit for a new family member. The staff went above and beyond to get us in on short notice. These folks are awesome!

Everyone involved, from the phones, to the receptionist, vet techs and doctors were amazing! My dog gets very excited when meeting new people and they took that in stride and were very patient with him during our visit! This will definitely be the place I take him as his regular vet

My cat was coughing sneezing and very congested last week. No one in the area would see him on short notice or take new patients. VAC answered the phone and made me an apt. for the next. day. When I needed emergency treatment on a Saturday for my German Shepherd not only did they clear a room and work him in, they saved his life. I can't recommend this Animal Hospital more highly and I am grateful they could work my and my dog into their schedule. Conveniently open on Saturdays and a BRILLIANT CARING STAFF AND DOCTOR. THANK YOU !!!

Have been using this vet for several yrs. They are fantastic! 1 month later, i am not as happy a customer. In the last 3 months i have spent over $3000 on exrays and medication. Was in Tuesday for a follow-up x-ray letting the staff know i was leaving town on Saturday for several months. Oh no problem. Michelle will call you today or tomorrow. Today is iday and she is off until monday! Not so impressed anymore.

I do love this vet office! Everyone is always very friendly, caring, and helpful. My dog has animal reactivity issues, they've always been very good about working with us to keep both our anxiety levels down and make it the best experience it can be for her. I highly recommend them. I've dealt with numerous vets in the office. I've had positive experiences with them all. Dr. Boudreau once stayed for what felt like forever to get porcupine quills removed from my dog. She was having trouble with the last one and kept at it with numerous attempts so I could avoid going to the emergency vet hospital, a hefty bill, and having to have my dog put under. She was finally able to get the last quill to avoid all that! Very grateful! Thank you!

Knowing my cat was not well, I made an appointment and they worked with my crazy schedule to have her seen. Once there the veterinarian immediately recognized an emergent issue with her out VCA scope. I didn't want her to suffer yet I was feeling terrible with the options for my cat of nearly 14 yrs. I opted to have her euthanized rather than suffer. The staff was wonderful. Even during these Covid19 times they were accommodating. Although the office is a bit of a drive from Springfield, I'll be back with my other little ones soon.Thank you again

We can only feel so much appreciation for the way we were treated. I just called to inquire some information and they understood, booked us right away, called us back to confirm the appointment, the assistant was right there waiting for us. The doctor (Vet), came right away and was very thorough explaining the process. They demonstrated they cared, they were kind and compassionate towards my son (dog) and us. They understood my son and his needs. They followed up…It meant so much to us! Lately, we’ve seen so much rudeness and lack of empathy but we found it at this clinic and that helped us heal other wounds.
