Mary was beyond helpful when she noticed i was slightly upset about not seeing what i was looking for, she immediately asked what she could do for me and went to the back to retrieve another case of parfait. i work in customer service, and was impressed with her quickness and her performance

The store is clean, the staff is helpful, kind and always with a smile. I dislike one of the pharmacist, who is very rude and judgey and in his profession I except to not be treated the way he treated me not once but twice. I hate that he could be as rude and unhelpful to other patients in need of help and relief from suffering. I know I don't go to the pharmacy for judgement, attitude, or to be embarrassed. Besides that Big Y palmer is a great store.

I was very disappointed by my visit to my local Big Y yesterday. I had a question yesterday and I was told that the Customer Service Desk could help me. So, I head over to the service desk and the younger girl that was working there has the worst demeanor I have ever experienced as a customer. I believe her name was Kelsey. She rolled her eyes a few hundred times at me and was overall very very rude. Will not be returning to this Big Y for a long time after this experience with this employee. If I could give it negative stars I would.

I love this store for its convenience. The layout is pleasing, the people are nice, the prices are good, and they don't sell damaged goods like Stop & Shop. They're refined, genial, and friendly. :)

One of the better Big Y stores in the area. Always clean. The shelves are pretty well stocked. The employees are always friendly. Plenty of parking. I rarely have a problem at this store. UPDATE: The store still doesn't disappoint. Their pizza shop makes great pizza! Great price too! Update: Still remains one of the better Big Y stores in the area. Always well stocked and I'm usually in and out fairly quickly. No complaints.

Very bold cashiers. Jeanne made several comments about ice cream/ bakery items in my order. Saw baby and made comment that cravings for the items I purchased should be over by now. I assume the manager was the one bagging. Didn’t say anything. It was extremely embarrassing to be called out on what was in my cart when I’m paying for it.

Big Y is a great store for groceries, bottle redemption, pizza and seafood takeout. The deli case is well stocked with meats and cheese. The container macaroni, potato salads and pickles are pick up ready. Love the soup counter. The Big Y pizza tastes good and the prices are less than local restaurants and it tastes kind of like Papa Gino pizza. Watch the Big Y sales and take a visit. 🥑 🥝 🍕 🐟 🦐

Always clean. Great variety of products and choices. Employees are friendly and professional. My daughter loves the shopping carts that look like cars so she can enjoy shopping too. Redemption center on site. Overall a good Big Y!

Was very crowded this morning. I bought the last of the haddock fresh from fish station. No over loading there of anything. No worries got what I needed and left3/27/23Went in for quick dinner pick up. Very nice big y one of my favorites6/4/23Went in for fresh fish and they had it. YummyThank you for some of the best pricing around9/7/23Went in to buy fish. And they are the only one I will get my fish from. Palmer big y or wilbraham big y.I love palmer because you never smell the fish department when your in the store I can't tell you how many times I've walked into other store and I can't say what the fish department smelled like. They are pleasant and very helpful. Thank you for keeping the fish department clean and smell free. Valued customers appreciate that.11/14/23We t for bullion and cornstarch. Now thanksgiving is all set.... I go into the Big y to buy fish this Big y in Palmer is the best Big y fish it is the only big way I buy my fish from they are very knowledgeable the fish is fresh and the prices are not astronomical3/1/24Went in for lettuce, cukes, fish because I love their fish department. It's always clean and never has a foul order to it.I was a bit shocked at the price of the cod filets. Kind of high I thought. 14.99 lb.Last time I paid 10$ lb me thinking it was cheaper now because of the time of year it was. No way. Very high like everything else.

Holly is a treasure in the bakery at the Palmer Big Y! Every birthday cake we have ever ordered (and we have a pile of kids) has been outstanding. This site is fortunate to have her. We'll come back every time 🙂

I just moved here a few months ago and was worried about having The Big Y be my only nearby market but I absolutely LOVE this store! Everything is always extremely fresh and clean and the entire staff are warm and welcoming like family. I do wish the pizza station was a bit better managed. I always look forward to having a slice and sometimes there’s either no pizza available or the slices that are left look brick hard. Other than that, this is a great place to shop!

Always clean, everyone is helpful. I stop in on my way home from work in the AM. Never any crowds there at that time. Huge selection of fresh produce. I love their soups and hand-made salads. Big Y is the only place I can buy a huge bag of popcorn! Love it.

Their pizza is the best in town but the issue is the have the rudest stoner working back there who refuses orders, has zero customer service, and just can't run his department. I've seen numerous complaints about him but management does nothing. I order for a large company but will be taking our business elsewhere.

Some of the items are a bit pricey but great quality. Also Great staff and I love the bakery! One of the bakery staff members got my family addicted to chocolate chip cookies that taste like homemade. (Fortunately and unfortunately, the package only has 8 cookies). Thanks again Big Y.

Palmer has a much larger inventory than Ware, which is actually closer to my house. My wife got the fish sandwich and French fries. The portion was smaller than it looked in the picture, but it was dee-licious!Big Y is promotion-driven, so if you shop the sales, you will do well. A healthier alternative to Wendy's, across the street.

It was a pleasant surprise to find a grocery store in the area stocked with all my favorites. It's hard to find some of the items I buy frequently and when I went here they had them all. Also had a pleasant interaction with the cashier (as did the person ahead of me). Nice store!

This store is the best! Always super clean. Yes, the food is always fresh and many organic items are available but, these are just a few of the things that make the place special. Your employees are ALWAYS pleasant and helpful! Last week was crazy busy (Christmas) and Jacob was running around making sure everything was stocked. I asked him a few times where items were and ... he was always right;). One item, he went to check “the back” . Who does that anymore!! I’m old enough to remember when they did.Then, there is Jim, the manager. He was helping me find a crazy sport drink my son likes, and when we couldn’t find it on the shelves, he actually got on his knees and checked the bottom shelves in the coolers! He found three!He’s STILL helping! Jim just phoned me and told me he just received a case of the drink and would I like to have some held for me at the service desk!There’s helpful and then there’s... above and beyond!!These guys deserve to be recognized for giving 100%P.S. maybe, you can raise the coolers off the floor ;)

Store is very clean & most employees are very friendly. However, they lose points from me because of the way they behaved at the start of the pandemic. I was standing in line waiting to purchase my items, when an employee told me suddenly that the line was no longer open, although the light was on in the aisle and the employee had just checked out another customer in front of me. This was after I had already waited quite awhile. She directed me to the END of another line, when I had already been waiting and was next in line at the original register that was checking out customers. Why on Earth would they instruct a customer who was next in line to go all the way to the back of another line behind about 8-10 customers with carriages full, when I had maybe 4-5 items total & had already waited long enough? This was ridiculously unfair & I chose to leave the store without buying the items I needed due to this inconvenience and not having time to wait any longer. I had already waited and didn't have time to spend another 20 mins in line behind customers that hadn't been waiting even half as long as me. I hope that they've since gotten their priorities straightened out. This is no way to treat customers! I wasn't expecting to "cut" anyone, but they should've allowed me to at least check out at the original register, before closing it unexpectedly. I've never seen another store do something like that before. Very bad for business and good way to lose customers. I won't be back to this location.

The selection is superior to that of Stop & Shop, but the prices of every single item is higher than Whole Foods for Whole Foods 100% organic foods (for non-organic at Big Y). The staff are mostly children (18 to 19 years old) and extremely unfriendly. If you need something quickly and they're closest, then worthwhile. Otherwise my having paid $124.xx for 3 bags of non-organic food shows just how shockingly high their prices are. Nearby if you need something quickly, but not ideal as your usual/standard/daily supermarket.

For an old outdated store they do keep it pretty clean. I'm glad they added the pizza shop to it, can also get an awesome grinder made there. Everything very fresh.
