Best friends is absolutely amazing!! I was panicking on what to do with a new puppy having to work and we found their wonderful puppy group. My dog has now grown with the staff at best friends boxford and she is SO happy on the days she goes there. They have become a second family for her and truly care for her as if she were their own. They have helped my husband and I on our puppy journey as well offering guidance and advice as we welcomed a puppy for the first time in 16 years! I cannot recommend them enough! Our pets are our family, the comfort I have leaving my dog in their hands in my absence is something worth every penny we pay.

Amazing staff! My dogs go crazy to go there and spend the day and come home exhausted… mission accomplished. Friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Staff knows every dog and has special events for all holidays for dogs. While the outside facilities are tired and need to be updated, it’s not the building that makes it special. Thank you Boxford Best Friends!!!!

We have been taking our two dogs here for about 6 months and have loved it! They do a great job with both of them, but most notably with our smaller reactive dog. They are very patient with him and have helped him make friends at the day care.We love how we can also schedule grooming, nail trims and baths for them. Booking a boarding appointment is very easy too.We also see on the cameras that they thoroughly clean out the dog area after the dogs are done with playtime for the day. We highly recommend them.

Highly recommend 👍 couldn't be happier. Been bringing my dogs for years! They are always so excited when they find out they are going! We do about 25-30 overnights OR MORE a year per dog with them as we travel frequently. We deeply trust them 🙏

Our dog practically pulls us in to the facility to go to the doggy daycare. He always comes home exhausted. The staff are very friendly and kind to us and our young son at pick ups and drop offs. They are always commenting about our dog's personality, you can tell they really love the pets and take the time to know them.

As a veterinarian, I highly recommend this place. I boarded my cat here for 6 days who I’ve had for less than a year. She was shy when I first got her, and has since blossomed, but I was afraid she would regress there. Nope, she thrived! Everyone loved her, she got free roam of the kitty room when no other cats were there. They sent me pictures every other day and instantly answered when I emailed asking about food and energy level. They said things in the email that I knew meant she was comfortable - things I had not told them about prior. They administered her meds, followed feeding (and playing) instructions, and I’ll be using them again when I leave town this summer.

I am very happy I found best friends. It was extremely easy to make an appointment for boarding and grooming. They were super friendly and responsive. Moose came home very tired and very happy.

I used them frequently when I first moved back to the area. I slowly began to notice behavior changes in my pup each time I'd bring him home after boarding - skittish, hand reactive, on constant high alert. On more than one occasion I had picked him up stinking of urine, I didn't bother asking for a bath prior to going home because in the past he was sent home to me wet and stinking of wet dog - what's the point?. After his last boarding visit he came home noticeably thin - ribs and hip bones visible and incredibly protective of his food. Nobody had any information for me about whether he had problems eating during his stay or if he was stressed or anxious possibly causing the weight loss. After asking around I heard enough questionable stories from trustworthy sources where I decided it was in my dogs best interest to not return.

Bogey loves going to Best Friends Pet Hotel. Everyone there treats him like a king. He’s always happy to go in and always looks like he has been well taken care of when we pick him up.

Been boarding here for 6 years when we travel. pro tip: schedule a bath on last day so you get a clean pup upon pick up! And put all food in separate plastic bags portioned out. and when u miss her u can call in a puppy treat from the doggie menu :)

We’ve trusted Best Friends Boxford for over a decade. The staff are kind, caring, knowledgeable and provide great customer service. Our cats and dogs love it there and get to have a fun vacation too. The grooming service is excellent too.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. My dog died after picking her up from a week long boarding stay. She couldn’t stand up or walk when I picked her up and they never even called to tell me. DO NOT SEND YOUR DOG HERE!!!

Second time we have used them for boarding. I was returned a happy and very tired dog. She had a great time . At the end of her stay, she was groomed. She looks and smells amazing. I would definitely recommend them and will continue to use them.

Don’t take your dog here, they have already killed three dogs here. When the owners of the pet drop them off they are perfect and healthy and excited but they do something there to the pets that make them pass away. DONT TRUST THEM

I am sick while writing this review, and you can look through my many reviews, I do not normally have anything bad to say about most places my family does business with. We boarded our dog for 6 days while on a trip to Florida. We were told that we could bring our own food and they would follow our instructions. As you can see in the picture my wife labeled each days food with a date. The canned food was never given to him. We also sent treats with him and the bag was never even opened. Lastly, we sent him in with brand new toys and they were never given to him. I would not reccomend bringing your animals here.

On multiple occasions they have lost items brought in with our dog. For example, they have not returned our dog's collar (with ID/rabies tags), a flea and tick collar, and a slow feeder bowl.Also, after our dog's most recent stay here, he came back and was more obsessed with food than we had ever seen him, almost like he hadn't been getting fed.Have been to other Best Friends locations and have had no issues, but avoid this one.

Bestfriends Pet Hotel is amazing. This was our dogs first time being boarded and she has bad anxiety. I thought for sure she was going to have a hard time there. The staff was super friendly and great with her. She loved it there. We definitely will be boarding her again there in the future if need be.

We have been taking our two dogs to Best Friends (day camp, day care, and overnight boarding) for more than a year. The dogs love going there. The staff is friendly and they seem to really like dogs. What better recommendation is there?

I think before the virus things were very good. Now with the reduced hours still in place and I dont think the plays times for the dogs is enough..other best friends are back to normal times and operations. Not sure how this is going to work out.

I've been taking my pup here for the past 6 months. Everytime we show up his tail starts going a mile a minute and when I pick him up hes asleep by the time we leave the parking lot. I trust the staff here and appreciate all the help they offer!

Best Friends is the ultimate best!! Our 17 yr. old cat just spent 4 wks there. They gave him so much personal time. He had a nice big sunny room where he could walk around or lay in the sun. I wouldn't consider any other place EVER!

They are great at giving your dog whatever is required for that particular day. My boxer is always excited when we get close to the location and then does his wiggle dance as soon as the door opens.

I can't say enough about Best Friends of Boxford!! I love that they love Pesky soo much. Pesky loves going for day camp & sleepovers. Everyone there is exceptional. Especially Kim the manager!! Thank you Best Friends.

Best friends is so good to our Shiba! He is always excited to play when we drop him off, we get updates and pictures while he is staying over and they put up with his Shiba antics with grace (if you know Shibas - you know). It is very clear the staff loves dogs and what they do!

Had to board my 3 and 1/2 mo. puppy for 3 nights. I explained that she was a rescue and suffered from severe separation anxiety and was fearful of other dogs. (I have had dogs my entire life and used to breed Goldens, so this isn’t my 1st rodeo). I called the next morning after drop off and wasn’t given much information - only 1 pet cam was functioning, with no dogs yo be seen , so I couldn’t check in on her on my own. When I picked her up, she looked emaciated and exhausted. I asked questions, but received no updates on her stay, and was told she “might have played with another dog on Friday”, but wasn’t sure. She basically Collapsed in my car. When I got her home and weighed her, she had lost 4 lbs. Obviously she either hadn’t eaten at all/was so stressed she hadn’t slept in three days.Someone should have called - they need to be much more communicative with customers. My pup won’t even go near her crate now, which was never an issue before.

The manager here is not to friendly. The rest of the staff is great. Most interaction I've had with the manager has been short and rather blunt.The ability to provide different experiences for different dogs is what brings me back here. My dog is shy and very nervous. She takes a while to warm up to new places, people, and other dogs. The independent stay allows her to avoid the stress of meeting a bunch of new dogs every time she comes. Shes slowly learning the staff and environment for now. Once shes comfortable with that she can start meeting new dogs.

We have been going to Best Friends Boxford for close to 10 years. All of our pups love it here. The staff and other patrons are great. Our dog come home happy and tired from a wonderful day of socialization and play.

Our dog and cat always love it here! When we arrive, my dog is eager to go back and play with her friends! The one time we unfortunately had to cancel boarding due to my dog getting sick, they were very understanding and charged nothing for it!
