Katie's Country Store had plenty of options in their conscience store. I was able to find a lot of different drink and snack options. They also have a full deli.Katie's Fast Food and Ice cream was great! The service was excellent and quick. I got a Reese's pieces razzle and it was delicious.

I was pleasantly surprised by this store. When in and ordered a grinder for lunch. The grinder was amazing. Everything was fresh in the sandwich and full of flavor.

Ordered two turkey sandwiches and I guess shame on me for not taking a look before leaving the store but half the bread was burnt to a black crisp on top on both sandwiches.Edited to add: Owner has replied here with no apology and blaming it on the toaster when the person preparing the sandwiches surely saw the top of the rolls that they served.

This is a nice little country store. The staff here is friendly. Their isles are jam packed with stuff. You can get ice cream out back, behind it. We usually stop in here on the way to the family cottage, and at some point, make our way back with the kids for the ice cream.Definitely an Otis staple/landmark - we've been coming here for years/decades.The only knock on this place is the parking situation, but this isn't Katie's fault. Too bad some of the customers park so inconsiderately and block access to the gas pumps.I guess they are just very important people and can care less how their actions affect others. You can see the ridiculousness of the important people in one of the photos I am attaching. If it is you and your car that I am referring to, shame on you...Anyway, this is not Katie's fault and I always make it a point to stop in to purchase some items here to help myself & the local economy.

I heard somewhere Katie’s store has been sold?Katie’s is just an absolute wonderful store. Most of my groceries come from Katie’s! Trish has done an outstanding job keeping this business alive! The food is always fresh. The meat counter is above no other. The store is stocked with most everything a person needs. I’ve been shopping at Katie’s for nearly as long as I could just walk, visiting often with my grandparents and parents. Now as an adult living in Tolland for nearly 30 years full time, I depend on Katie’s every week to provide me with my groceries. Why drive all the way to Lee or Westfield or Winsted when Katie’s has all we need. Even through the pandemic Trisha kept the store open and stocked. When they could not allow people in then they turned the store into a takeout store, keeping the towns people going. Call your order in and they would deliver it right to your vehicle. And through the entire pandemic they always had all I needed. Even toilet paper! Yup. I don’t know where she was importing it from but Katie’s never ran out of toilet paper!Well done to Trisha and your entire team. You make out towns just wonderful to live in!!!

My experience at this store was a bit mixed. While they had everything I needed during my visit, I couldn't help but notice the prices were on the higher side. It left me feeling like it might not be the best place for regular grocery shopping, but rather a place to buy items when in a hurry.Three stars seem fair as they did have a good selection of products and fulfilled my immediate needs, but the high prices were a drawback. I believe it's important to support local stores, but affordability is also a crucial factor for many shoppers. One thing that disappointed me was the lack of a detailed receipt for my purchase. Having a breakdown of the items and their individual costs helps in tracking expenses and making informed decisions while budgeting. This missing detail made it harder for me to understand the real cost of the items I purchased. In conclusion, I may consider visiting this store when I need something urgently, but for regular grocery shopping, I'll likely explore other options. While the store had its positives, the overall pricing and the absence of a detailed receipt affected my overall satisfaction with the shopping experience. I hope they take these points into consideration to improve their offerings in the future.

Over priced, bought potato & egg salad and couldn't find any eggs and there were also onions in it and had I known before buying it I wouldn't have. I guess they charge according to weight and the potatoes were cut in huge chunks (all the weight), again with no eggs...! In addition to that the woman that was working the deli was not very friendly, she must of been having a bad day. The cashiers and register folks were all very friendly.

Local town grocery store with anything you might need. Very well stocked, deceiving from the outside. Front to back this store is packed with fresh produce, dry goods, frozen goods, deli/meat/seafood, canned goods, eggs/dairy, beer and wine, ice, etc. Close to camp overflow and the marina.

We love Katie's. Great small-town grocery store, always has fresh meats and in the summer the burgers are killer.

Hope you're not in a hurry. 2 hot dogs, a fish sandwich, and a couple of drinks. 25 minutes since we ordered....so far. Glad we got here before the lunch crowd. I don't understand how it could possibly take this long.Ironically the sign says "fast food take out."

The burger here was surprisingly good. The bun was awesome and the veggies tasted fresh. I'd stop again for a quick bite if in the area.

What a little gem, I'm happy I stumbled across Katie's Country Store in my way to the Otis Reservoir for some kayaking.Ample parking with a place to fill up! The store has a true old-time country store feel with old, uneven wooden floors. Don't let that fool you, they all your necessities plus a fantastic made to order deli.I'm looking forward to my next trip to the area and you bet this will be a spot programmed into my GPS.

Was charged 30 dollars at the store for 4 potatoes, 1 onion and 3 bell peppers asked cashier if that’s right, was told yes. Used to be a great place. Always made a point of stopping here when I’m in town for years. Not so much anymore, recommend just drive to Lee for what you need. Not what it used to be.

Has a little bit of everything from a tank of live lobsters to tanks of propane for your grill. The prices are a little more than elsewhere because you're paying for the convenience. The aisles are narrow but it's well worth the visit if you forgot something.

The particular day we went the food came out burned and our order was wrong. May have been an off day because this place has really good reviews otherwise. Overall, it's a nice little business in a convenient location and I wouldn't want to see them go out of business. Try them out for yourselves.

Store was fine although cramped. The takeout..... Bad. Fish and chips were under cooked and they never called our number even though there was 4-5 people working the window. Personally I wouldn't recommend but there isn't many options in the area

Actual store offers everything one would want to find in a roadside convenience store. Nice selection of beer, wine and spirits. Staff is pretty helpful and friendly. My main issue is with their food shack which is located outside and to the back. There's a gas station across the road where you can get some stuff but Katie's is the only place for.miles to.get some chow. They offer the absolute minimum in the way of burgers, fries and everything else fried (chicken. Cutlet, clam strips, etc) as well as satisfactory enough ice cream. When you are the only food establishment for some miles in the area, you can do pretty much what you want. Be creative!! Get a little edge with your sandwiches. Throw in an avocado once in a while for heavens sake. The store really made an effort to get a nice variety of alcohol while still selling the Coors, Bud, and other tasteless brew.I've been going to the Berkshires- Otis, Tolland - for over 30 years: I will always be loyal to Katie's. Hope it keeps attracting customers and improving 5he food options would be stepping jn the right direction.

My kids and I were camping close to this store and came to pick up breakfast on 7/24/21. My 4 year old son cannot eat gluten so I ordered a breakfast sandwich without the bread. Basically eggs and sausage. The woman at the window was extremely rude and said they "do not do special requests". The guy behind the window said he would do it, no problem as it wasn't a big deal. The whole time this guy is scrambling the 2 eggs, the lady is making comments. I'm so glad the guy was more than willing to do a simple accommodation for my son. The woman shouldn't even be working in customer service, at all.

The store is cute and really old! It’s crowded feeling in there because they’re well stocked and their shelves are full. Their produce always looks nice as well. Their prices are rather high, but it’s probably because they know they’re the only place available in this tiny town.

Quant store, fully stocked, clean/fresh deli, friendly staff, convenient. Called to see if they had produce (and the green pepper we needed), asked the woman at the cashier if she could put it aside for us and we'd be over in 10. They rescued our dinner!

Great ice cream, great breakfast combo, awesome Katie's sampler. It's always slower early in the season before the new summer staff is up to speed. But the food is reasonably priced and delicious.

Very tight aisle space but good assortment of options. We compared some prices of products against the other store down the road and Katie's was cheaper (not to be confused with "cheap" though - you still pay quite a bit more than you would if you bought it in the city). Friendly staff and several to-go food options outside at the window.

I go here about 4 days a week. Great folks here.. The deli in back has the best pork chops and beef around.. Avoid the boxes of crackers here ive bought three separate kinds and I think the stock boy plays soccer with them!😛 and dont piss the grinder maker off in the back she will kick your butt!!

We ordered from the take out window. Even though there were a lot of people ordering and waiting the staff stayed calm and efficient. Even though a kitchen is a noisy hot place, and there needs to be a plexiglass partition at the take out window, and I had a mask on (because of COVID-19), and all of those things together make for a potentially difficult process in placing and taking orders, the staff was patient and kind. We ordered lunch for 4 adults, pricing was average for my family, and the food was out quick hot deliscious and made as we ordered. Have been many times, and will return many times. Never a bad experience, and they're doing what needs to be done to keep themselves and their customers safe and healthy. A++
