Love the bird seed you can buy in bulk, plus it's a fun place to shop for all things birds. Cards, feeders, ornaments, clothes, mobiles calendars, and unique birding paraphernalia. Love it! Love the staff, too. They don't want you to leave without having a laugh. A fun place to visit.

Such a cute store! Great options for gifts or for your own home. Bought a few different bird houses and feeders. Very friendly staff. Can’t wait to go back! Right next door to a yummy fish market as well.

A birder's paradise! A store full of books, ornaments, trinkets, clothes, supplies, and everything youd ever want or need to watch birds or show your love and fascination for them. The owner was very nice and is clearly a fixture in the Orelans community. Put a bird on it. And stop by this spot when you're driving thru Orleans.

If you feed birds you need to stop at this store. They have an amazing selection of feeders, food, spotting scopes, binoculars and other items. I was on the quest for a new hummingbird feeder after a bear destroyed mine earlier in the year. The prices are comparable to online site like Amazon (I checked) but you get to handle the merchandise and ask the knowledgeable staff. Check out the bathroom (really).

One of my favorite places to visit on the Cape! Birdwatchers has EVERYTHING forthe birder. From tees, shirts, sweatshirts, shorts and even underwear with birds on them, to Christmas ornaments and bird cards to books and greeting cards one can find any type of gift for themselves or a bird lover friend. They also have a section of bird feeders, houses and food on the side. I have bought many a pair of binoculars while on the Cape here and it is especially helpful to be able to compare one pair to the other by actually looking out of them instead of guessing online. Employees are helpful and know their stuff.

Been going to the birdwatchers store for many years and it's always great. Mike is a Cape Cod institution and always has a smile for everyone, as does all the staff. They are all super knowledgeable about the store and especially about birds. The store has something for everyone, not just bird lovers. Do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't regret it. And don't forget to have a joke ready for a free pencil.

Love this shop. We needed binoculars for bird watching and a seal cruise and the BWGS rented us 3 pair for a very fair rate of $2/day/pair. We got a couple of bird books for the birds of Massachusetts there. The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. Great store. Here are some pix of the things we saw with the binocs.

Love this place! They have everything you ever need for birds. Very helpful staff and they bring the 50 or 25 pound bag of bird seed to your car. Mike the owner is a fun and fascinating character. you can also buy his books there. He is an authority on birds, Although he will deny it.

Really nice store! Intended for fans of birds but they have a wide selection of things intended for the yard as well as books, kids stuff, educational, and beautiful knick knacks like gorgeous bird themed Christmas ornaments, etc.

Aside from truly being a "one stop shop" for all of your birding needs, it's also a wonderful example of how awesome and beautiful bird watchers can be, in addition to the birds themselves. Oh my GOOOOODNESS!!! Where has this store been all of my life? If you are a person that feeds birds in your backyard or David Sibley, you'll find this store FASCINATING! It was impossible to leave here without a few essentials, like a book, book mark, and tshirt.

An amazing staff! They were so well versed in local bird watching and encouraging to us newbies. We bought binoculars, clothing, a field guide, and a pair of gorgeous earrings. It was a great place for both of us to piddle around in.

I have shopped here for years. The shop has evolved into the most amazing center for everything birds. I could spend hours in here, poking around, watching the bird cams or the live birds, feeding outside. Prices and selection, second to none.

I’d like to comment on a review by Geoffrey Reuland which is defaming the name of the store. I have only good things to say about this store. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and it has always been a great place! I was there on the day he came in with this complaint, and listened in because he was getting loud about it. He left a glass birdbath outside with water in it during freezing temperatures, and it’s more than common sense that glass with water in it when it freezes will expand and crack the glass. He claimed it was defective and wanted another for free because it was the store’s fault. He clearly wasn’t happy with the fact they wouldn’t give him another for free. If you have a reasonable complaint about a product they will definitely fix the issue for you! They even give out many spare parts (if they have them) for free if you happen to lose or break bits off your binoculars or feeders!

I have been visiting BWGS for decades around Christmastime. Mike and his helpers are the best. Sharing jokes and memories are just some of the few things that you will experience. I don't normally do reviews on businesses, but as a local small business owner myself, I feel compelled to alert potential customers of Bird Watcher General Store to beware and search for alternative buying options.Specifically, after buying a relatively expensive bird watering dish about 3 months ago. I noticed that for no reason it had split across the bottom and would no longer hold water. I returned the item to the store, with the defective item, and asked to speak with the manager. I was told that he was not available but that he would give me a call. Of course I never received a call and returned to the store today. When I asked for a replacement, or refund I was immediately confronted with a series of ridiculous accusations such as" it can't be used if the temperature drops" and "we alert people that it can't be used if the temperature changes" . This was all ridiculous since the temperatures had remained very mild and the same products were outside and on display for others to buy during much colder temperatures. They searched very hard for any excuse to avoid taking care of their customer.In any event, the attitude of Bird Watchers General Store is that if you are stupid enough to buy a defective product from them, then it is not their problem, it is yours. Their attitude was not one of helpfulness, but of how do we get away with this. That is too bad because the early counter help all agreed this was a problem that should be addressed.My recommendation is that anyone looking to purchase Outdoor and Bird Watching type products avoid this establishments at all costs. One can quickly obtain virtually all the products they carry online or at the Agway Store just down the street at virtually 1/2 the price and without the "Gotcha Attitude"Small businesses have to show that they care about their customers and community in order to survive and Bird Watchers General Store does neither of these!!

If you need something for birds, this is the place to find it.Their employees have always been friendly & helpful, but now they've really out done themselves with their curbside pick up. Drive up, hand over your list, browse what's on display outside while they get your order & load it into your car. Pay & have a nice day. It's very convenient.
