What a hidden gem of Northampton. A true butcher with amazing meat and incredible daily sandwich specials too! Rotisserie chickens are superb and all around you will find delicious things to try out! Highly recommended!

Poor ProductToday my wife and I stopped by as the smellOn the street was terrific we inquired about the sweet sausage and told it was made fresh , we questioned the casing as it was brown and the clerk said it was fresh although there was newer pink fresh in the front of the case. Upon buying 2 lbs at $10.99 a pound proceeded to drive home and immediately put it on a sheet pan to cook , at my surprise when I took it out of the oven it had a terrible smell and upon tasting it it tasted sour as like it was old.Then I had the sand which of the day pulled pork , bread , slaw and pickle were fine the pork had no flavor and again I inquired about a side of BBQ sauce the owner said all we have is BBQ mayo or Spicy Mayo I have an allergy to mayo and the so called rub was non existent to taste what a waste of $12.00 so I spent $35.00 there today 7/14/2023 . 1st and last time I’m sorry for the negative review but who would serve pulled pork without BBQ or at least a to go package. I feel cheated for the Monies spent

This is probably the highest quality meat you can find in the valley. If you want something special, call and request it and they will usually make it happen. If you ever have a chance to attend a butchering course it’s highly recommended and informative. The owner is amazing and has such a great and chill personality. They also have daily special sandwiches that are unbelievable and routinely sell out.

I love the smoky smell every time I walk in. They have amazing meats and some delicious (but dangerously salty) beef jerky.We ordered a beautiful turkey from them for Thanksgiving last year. We'll be doing the same this year.Try their sausages and do not miss their short rib burger patties.The food is expensive, but they have unusual offerings, and I think it's worth the hit to the wallet.

This butcher shop is a gem, excellent quality local meats. We don't eat a lot of meat, but when we do, we make sure it's local and grass fed and Sutter Meats is the place to go. We also buy all our bones for making bone broth here. Highly recommended! Open 7 days a week!

Sutter meats has an unusual elegance for a butcher shop. They use the whole animal, selling dog treats and bone broth (that Sally Fallon would envy) with their scraps. If you don't know how to cook a particular cut of meat, they will guide you. When friends have babies or someone falls ill, I sweep in with the perfect meal, a Sutter meats rotisserie chicken. It's juicy and has crispy skin and perfect spices...just how every meat eater would want it. My toddler has a particular affinity for their pulled pork. We buy containers of it and I'm grateful not to have to cook. Sometimes I take the leftovers and add it to noodles. Their sandwiches are gourmet deliciousness and perfect for eating at Pulaski park.

As a recent returnee to eating meat I find their advice helpful and realistic. I appreciate the fact that I can be confident that what they are selling is of the highest quality; not only were the animals raised with care but the meat has been prepared with care. My wife who continues to eat vegetarian claims that the lovely smell inside Sutter's makes her jealous of meat eaters.

Lovely staff who are willing to explain lots about the meat and offer recommendations. The prices are on the higher side, but it seems quite worth it given the thoughtfulness in the process and quality. It's wonderful to have a local butcher. It also smells amazing inside!

My husband and I think Sutters is the best at what they do. The meats are amazing. Last Christmas we bought a filet roast and are doing so again this year! Spoon tender! We recently bought the most amazing duck liver pate for a holiday gathering. Perfect in every sense! Our guests thought we had brought it back from our recent trip to Paris! If you haven’t been to Sutters, don’t wait any longer!

This is the best local butcher shop around if you care about eating locally and ethically. They have all kinds of great cuts for barbecues, dinner or holidays as well as lard, sausages, seasonings, lard soap, sauces, etc. My personal favorite is their homemade beef jerky. Unlike most store bought stuff it has just enough moisture to be chewy and flavor without tasting like a bottle of liquid smoke or soy sauce. It's got a nice umami flavor and a slight kick of red pepper flakes without being off-putting to those who don't eat spicy foods. I buy half a dozen bags at a time and always keep one in my purse for snacks on the go or to curb some anxious teeth grinding. I share it at parties and everyone asks where they can get some. I recently packed some for my backpacking journey the Sahara in Morocco. If it kept me full while riding on a camel through the desert, it can get you through commuter traffic!

The local grass fed beef here is a revelation as to how meat should really taste and feel: tender and firm at the same time, full blooded and with a slightly metallic tang. I roasted a tri-tip over an oak fire and had the best meal of the Winter.

Great burgers made with short rib mix. Tasty and rich. Freshly cut lamb for shish kebabs although trimmed grisly and tough. Inedible. Better for a long stew braise. Maybe.

Great butchers near the center of Northampton. The staff was knowledgeable and the meat selection was excellent. They offer classes and have give you the ability to order special cuts ahead of time.
