VERY NICE RENOVATION! It was Worth the wait for A PET SUPERSTORE. The SERVICE REPS are SO knowledgeable about Tropical fish. I DIDN'T expect that. FEELS like a Petting Zoo... without the PETTING!GREAT JOB!!

No matter what kind of pet you have, this is a pretty awesome pet store.Only caveat is all the fish food is on the expensive side - there weren’t any affordable options. But everything else we saw was competitively priced.

Been coming to this store for years. The staff here are super knowledgeable, and management is the best in town. Always helpful, polite, and going the extra mile. This is by far the best pet store, with great prices. Will never go anywhere else!!

I love visiting this place! The small critter section is the best they have these 2 wonderfully knowledgeable ladies working there. (Probably alot more now) I got my fur baby here and even though she's a special needs, she's a great pet! Her name is Almond ^_^

I go here all the time for my pets needs. I really like the dog wash they have. It's much easier to wash my dogs here then at home. And they're always sleepy after a bath.

It was ok, I like washing my dog there because I hate the mess at home but they were out of the conditioner we wanted, there were dirty brushes in with the clean. Definitely not worth 14$maybe 10 at best

Huge selection of pet foods including human food grade humane choices for dogs and cats that are the safest and healthiest on the market like open farm and honest kitchen. Brands from Europe too. Prices reasonable for the quality and the very helpful and knowledgeable staff who have ordered cat supplies they did not have in stock. lots of pet carriers all sizes and everything you would need or want for your pets like toys, dog raincoats, natural dog snacks etc. they even let you bring well behaved pets in their stores, They have a very fine self serve doggy wash bathtubs and groomers and vets that offer their services from time to time at their stores.A staff member even offered to help carry heavy cat litter to my car. Just looking for the lowest price you can miss out on the biggest selection and services. You will find your mass market brands too at reasonable prices similar to stop and shop.

Saturday we had another great visit to the Northampton Smithland Pet & Garden Center. This has become my store of choice for all our young St. Bernard's needs, not only because of the vast selection offered, but because of the warmth of and attentiveness of the entire staff. Chris, the store manager, runs a great place, and every single staff member goes out of their way to get us what we need.Saturday, the store had free photos for our doggy with Santa (a wonderful staff member). It was a fun day for a bunch of us! I can't recommend this store enough!

Waaaay overpriced! I hadn't been in for a while. I get inflation and all, but I was shocked to see that they are pricing the same food and goods HIGHER (much higher) than what Big Y charges (which is already top dollar). Why would anyone make a special trip to a pet food store to pay MORE than they would at the grocery store? No wonder it was crickets in there - I guess others have already figured it out.

Wonderful shop. All animals well taken care of unlike "big box" pet stores with miserable looking stock. Staff is ever friendly and inviting. Welcome to bring your (hopefully, well behaved) pet into the store with you. To top it off prices are generally better than you would find elsewhere. I travel from another city to go here. A+

We went in to buy parakeet food; Smithland is the only place that carries the size our birds eat.The store is neat, and it is easy to find items. And they do not sell any type of animals. If you have a pet you are welcome to bring them to the store.People also have a place to wash and dry their dog and the store also has days for vaccinations.

Great selection of cat and dog products. Their dog beds are holding up great after several years of use. If you are looking for minimal ingredient dog treats you can even look at Dave's own brand. They have just about every brand of dog food dry and wet you can think of. For a brick and mortar store they are very well priced given its a local chain.

I was recently in the store to get crickets. The service was great. The employee was super friendly and we had a nice conversation about pets. I mentioned that my leopard geckos are classroom pets. She immediately offered me 4 bags of Cute kids face masks that they were no longer selling! What an amazing offer!! Our students are so lucky that a local store is looking to support them!! I will continue to do my pet/gardening business at Smithfield!! Thank you for helping your community Smithfield!!!

the transition from Dave's to Smithland was almost unnoticeable. That alone is impressive to me. They have a great selection for pet supplies and friendly staff. Some prices are better than online options, some aren't.

Great selection of full-spectrum hemp treats. Unlike most pet stores, I was able to choose grom 3 or 4 brands, and many different flavors. I was sad that there weren't any Halloween costumes for dogs available. But I was able to get everything else I came for at a reasonable price.

Went there to get some supplies for our new puppy. Their selection of small harnesses was almost zero. In addition to a harness I purchased a collar which I noticed the pricing was different for one particular color. When I brought it to their attention I was dismissed and told “that is the way we get them” and that there was nothing they would do. The person in charge was rude and when I was rung up I wasn’t even given a bag for the $40 of merchandise I bought. I will not be going back there. I would rather drive further to a place they care about their customers.

Excellent select of dog food, treats, toys, and other peripherals. Love the handful of bulk bins they have that reduce the cost of dog treats. The staff are always friendly and it's great to have a reward system that encourages buying local rather than Amazon.

Found a new type of food I wanted to try for my dog. The package had an instant $2 off coupon on the front. At the register, the cashier tells me the coupon is expired and won't honor it. In any other retail store, the coupon would've been accepted and an employee would have been tasked with removing the expired coupons from the rest of the packages (of which there were several). Very bad customer service on the part of this new company. Definitely not the level of service we'd received when the store was still owned by Dave's Pet City.

Since this store changed hands it has gone downhill. The fish quality is not as good. The attitude of the woman we spoke with was not very nice and she has been there for years. The tanks were not clean and had dead fish in them. We were told they really are only ordering fish for customers as the water in Northampton is not good. I don't reccomend visiting.The price of most things across the board has increased. Just because you change names doesn't mean that quality goes down and prices go up.

Dave’s Soda and Pet City is my favorite pet store to go to they are an awesome small business. The staff if friendly, the prices are competitive, the animals are healthier than the big chain pet stores. Dave’s offers weekly custom live food orders for reptiles as well as the option to order exotic animals. I highly recommend Dave’s to anyone going to a pet store.

Havent fully decided how I feel about this establishment changing hands. Loved Dave's dog food for my fur baby. Previously the price was great for a great product. I'm pricing it against other great dog foods now as the price keeps rising. I have to factor in travel to. I drive 45min to get here. The bulk Mother Hubbard treats are still available as well as in expensive cows ears and pigs ears. All my fur babies favorites. I'd be remiss if I didnt mention the fabulous wall of bananas. Holidays, seasons, cute sayings, so many options to choose from.Update July 2020 still shop here but now for the treats and extras. Had to switch dog food during Covid 19. Staff continue to be friendly and helpful
