I liked this Northampton Big Y until yesterday, August 9. A sign clearly stated that Wild caught King Crab selling for $7.99. When I asked for a few pounds from a guy, the lady nearby raised her voice , yelling that the King Crab is selling for $9.99, not $7.99. I pointed out the sign, and the lady said she did not make the sign. She angrily repeated the same phrases three times, intimidating me like I have a hearing problem. She grabbed the sign and hid it to cover up the mistakes. They called the manager as I had done something wrong. Two managers came. Manager Rob professionally apologized for the mistakes. During the whole time the lady and the staff had an attitude problem. Not only did they try to cover up the mistakes, but they also treated the customers like idiots.

I absolutely love this Big Y location! They have an amazing variety of Organic and Locally made food options.They have a huge selection of Sushi, Fresh Sandwiches, Hot Food, a Salad Bar, an Olive Bar, Cheeses, Seafood, Meat, as well as a large variety of wine and liquor.They also have fresh flowers and plants.The only downside would be that they charge for shopping bags.

I always feel like I’m the only one in the store, the management team the staff!(Calvin) At the front of the store has been so helpful! I so enjoy shopping at big Y world-class market!

I like their fish selection, a lot, and they have an excellent cheese and cold cuts section. The reason that I’m not giving them five stars is because of the fact that they got rid of small shopping baskets. If you’re coming in to just get a few items, having a cart is very cumbersome, and it slows you down. So instead, you see the store filled with people clutching their groceries because they just want a few items and they want don’t want to deal with a cart. Please bring back the handbaskets.

This is a beautiful Big Y. The store is very large with a gorgeous indoor/outdoor vegetable/fruit section. It has all types of liquor not just beer. The meat section is also great and Tom the butcher is always wonderful with suggestions. I feel very lucky to live near this store.

Hey Jerry, you may want to consider washing your hands when you come out of the bathroom stall. Maybe putting down your phone would allow you to remember. I just hope you aren't working in the with raw food. Other than that this is a great store and ill gladly change my review once addressed

I love the layout of this big y, and I wish others would do it.I don't usually shop here because things are just a little too $$$, but if I have to grab something and I stop it, it's always clean and well organized.

Always satisfied but sometimes a little pricey. Was a little disappointed today, I was looking for tricolor rotini and the pasta section was very sparse with a lot of empty shelves and no rotini (tricolored) anyways. Was much better tonight, the shelves were really well stocked and they seemed to have more help.I have to stick with the 5 🌟, they're doing a much better job 👍 👏. Still staying at 5 stars, I know they're struggling with hiring enough help, just like everywhere today. When I was a high school student I would have killed for a job at Big Y, I guess it's a sign of the times. They're adapting, they added more self checkout registers and enlarged the space they're located in. They also seem to have more help than in recent months. Still doing well, had a very good fresh grinder tonight 👌 Keeping up the great work 👍

Not a fan of their produce. Frequently I pick up a cucumber or pepper etc and it's so rotten my fingers go right thru it. I showed it to a kid stocking produce. He took it and as I walked away he put it right back in the bin. Produce area is super crowded, they need to lay it out better. Floors don't appear clean. Prices the most expensive of all grocery stores in town. I stop for 1-2 items, I will not shop there and spend big bucks.

Honestly not the worst grocery store I’ve been to, but needs some serious improvement. Prices are higher than anywhere else and for what? I doubt it’s reflected in the employees’ paychecks.There’s also a manager here, I believe his name is Dominic, who’s a real piece of work. He’s given me a dirty look as I’ve walked into the store on a few occasions. I also overheard him berating an employee for a minor and inconsequential mistake once. He’s the reason this store gets a 1 star review instead of the 2 or 3 stars I would have rated it otherwise.Big Y, get it together and teach your managers more effective leadership strategies, and maybe a little friendliness too.

Clean, well stocked, helpful friendly staff. See for yourself. Fruit and vegetable area is fresh and impressive. Fish and butcher areas stocked with high quality fresh choices. The cashier and front end staff top off my visit. I leave the store happy., buy more than came in for and always ring the bell!!The bell is gone, the self serve pay stations have been installed. I still get my groceries rung up by someone.

I've gotten groceries here all my life. The seafood here is top notch with good prices. I find that the 90 pack fish sticks last awhile if you make fishstick sandwiches

Big Y is by far my favorite grocery store and I've been going here for years. I do have to say if your a meat eater Big Y has an amazing butcher counter and they really accommodate customers!

Very busy due to upcoming holiday. Unfortunately the meat we bought was short coded and spoiled. They had gluten free Main Pie Co pies. All flavors. Made my day.

This place is fantastic! the store is big, well organized and clean. The bakery has beautiful and delicious cakes and cupcakes. The managers Rob and Brian solve all kind of situations, give good deals and bargains, help you get things to the car, and they even load it for you. The cashiers, like Jennifer and Kyle are kind, friendly, and very helpful. Sometimes I have seen Kyle bagging groceries and he does it carefully the way you like. Bryan, at the service desk, takes care of you promptly and in a friendly manner. The store has many young employees that are all great. They have a young man at the self check out, whom I can't remember by name, who is also helpful and friendly. WOW What a team! Good Customer service is the way in this place. Thumbs up!!!!

I was harassed and targeted by a group of young people here while I was getting my groceries and I would consider this place unsafe for any adult person. The management just seemed afraid to do anything concrete about the situation so I would tell all middle-aged and older people to avoid this place and get your groceries elsewhere.
