My water heater decided to pop and spring a leak late at night, spilling water into my apartment. I called emergency maintenance and Craig came over to help me out within 15 minutes. Before he left, he made sure I had space heaters and everything I needed to stay as comfortable as possible until the team could fix my water heater. Much to my surprise, the water heater was replaced the next day! Not only that, the guys even turned my heat back on so I came back to a warm home! The maintenance team here has always been very quick and professional in their response time!

My 4-yr. stay here has been nothing but amazing! I appreciated being surrounded by such unique and historic buildings, combined with impeccable grounds upon which to enjoy with my dog and fellow neighbors. As well, Fran & his maintenance crew went above and beyond on every inquiry and request, and responded with the utmost quickness and reliable solutions. Lastly, and super importantly, the leadership, kindness & dedication to the residents of Kathy Dionne, along with the excellent, sweet & steadfast support of Kristin Abene were what I like to refer to as “ the dynamic duo”, really set Ames Shovel apart from other surrounding properties. They created such a sense of community through their creative holiday-themed parties, fun decorations throughout the year, concessions and consistent positive light that I enjoyed each time that I saw an email come in! Their hard work and attention to detail made me feel like a true participant in the Ames community as opposed to a mere resident with a typical lease. Their efforts did not get lost on me and made the last years here that much more enjoyable. Kathy, Kristin, Fran and the entire Ames staff will always hold a special place in my heart.

Beautiful apartments and Fran is amazing. But they will turn on you if you aren't like them.

My husband and I recently located to the Ames Shovel Works Apartments. We looked at many homes in the area, and found the unique architecture and open concept/loft style apartments at Ames to be perfect for us. Since moving in, we have found the apartment and grounds to be very very quiet (a big plus for us!) and the neighbors to be friendly and gracious. The staff (Abby, Jess, Fran, and Pete) are especially attentive and helpful, especially during our initial visit and the leasing process. After moving in, we discovered a small issue with a leak from the upstairs shower into our pantry (a gasket had dried up from lack of use by the prior tenant), and the issue was resolved quickly by the apartments' contracted plumber. We are impressed! The grounds are kept clean, and the paths and parking lots clear of snow and ice. It is especially nice to live in a home where cats and dogs are welcome. And we are so happy to be living in a green space where the water quality is most excellent and recycling and energy savings are encouraged!

The property manager was first class. Responded to all my emails, nervous questions, and walked me through the entire process. The apartment is gorgeous, it was clean newly painted it felt brand new. This is a beautiful location, and a beautiful campus they have here. I’m so excited to make it my home. Customer service Is not common place anymore but at Ames shovel apartments it truly is in full swing

My husband and I lived here for 2 years and absolutely loved it! The location is amazing - just a short walk over to the main drag of town as well as a beautiful park - and the apartments themselves are the nicest, most modern and well-designed units we have ever lived in. The management is honest, quick to respond to issues, and always friendly. We can’t recommend living here highly enough!

Clean healthy atmosphere and well gardened areas make for a beautiful area for the entire year very nice peaple and you are well respected here well lit at night there are ground crews that keep this place tip top shape and respectful naybors in a nice happy community with cameras
