I have been taking my dogs to Bark of the Town for YEARS and have never had a bad experience. All of the employees are very friendly, caring and great with all of the pups! I have two mini schnauzers and they always look great when I come to pick them up! The groomers always make the dogs look exactly as I ask. Not to mention, my dogs are pretty hyper and the employees always welcome them with open arms and act as though my dogs weren’t any trouble at all! Owner is a very involved, aware and down to earth person. You can’t go wrong at this place! The pics were right after a fresh summer grooming!

All I have to say to my two golden retrievers is "We're going to see Ang!" and tails start wagging like crazy; they know they're going to have a great day at Bark of the Town and come home looking (and smelling) wonderful. I've been a client of Angela's and Patti before her for many years (three locations!) and all of my dogs have been well-cared-for, well-groomed, and happy at Bark of the Town. My own tricky schedule is always accommodated, we're welcomed as friends, and there are never any surprises. Not only are Angela and her team diligent and professional, they have pointed out things to me about my dogs that I myself didn't see and the advice Ang has given over the years is unfailingly helpful. I don't know what I--or my goofy pups--would do without them. It's a bonus that we can support a woman-owned small business, and I recommend Bark of the Town to anyone looking for a top-notch service experience.

Worse customer service. The new owner has no manners and not professional at all. Very rough person. I miss the previous owner. I don’t recommend them at all. They increase their price and inform you at pickup. My tiny 5lb multipoo cost as much as a golden retriever cost. Look at their rating compared to other groomer in the same town. This will explains their terrible service. MY 2 cents advice NEVER go there. I’m glad I stopped because I found a better and cheaper one in andover

The owner is the best she and all her employees are awesome and the price you pay for your services are the awesome, and will say she has the best in supplies because my bogs smell so good for over 4 or more months, that is just unbelievable, 👍🐶💯💓

I am very disappointed with my experience from Bark of The Town. My puppy's second trip there, upon picking up my dog I was told that his eye is squinting and he might have a hair in it. After the drive home I could tell he was in pain so I brought him to the Animal Hospital where they told me he had a cut on his eyeball. I let bark of the town know that he was at the vet and he had a cut on his eye and had to go back in a couple of days to see if it was healing. They never called back to see how he was doing or even offer to reimburse his hair cut after paying 50.00 then hundreds in Vet bills. I called back to then cancel an appointment I had made for the future and still received no call back. In addition, his face was extremely dirty after from all the tears and goop and ointment I had to put on him so he wasn't even clean following the haircut. Very poor customer service. Attached is a photo of my puppy while at the vet with his eye closed from pain, it broke my heart.

First time having my pup groomed and at this place. JUST OUTSTANDING !!!!!! My pup is not the most cooperative little guy - I couldn't have been happier with the result!!!!! Owner is very patient and understanding!!!!! Definitely returning.

Every visit to Bark of the Town feels like we're leaving our boy with family. We have a very large dog who is a very big baby and the staff goes out of their way to welcome him, manage his anxiety and make him look his most handsome. He is particularly grouchy about having his nails clipped and ears cleaned, but they get both done with minimal stress. We were so excited to learn that Angela is the new owner, as she's been our primary groomer for years. It always puts me at ease when she greets Bubs and he gets so excited to see her <3 we love every visit and have been happy customers for a long time!

My family and I have been going to bark of the town for years and we loved it! Even after our family dog passed we continued to bring our new dogs there. But ever since the original owner retired I think the place has gone hill. We went for our appointment yesterday and they had warned me they were a bit short staffed so they would need a bit longer. They held him for 9 HOURS! I dropped my pup off at 8 am, called at 3 pm for an update, and when I went to pick him up, he still wasn’t ready! I didn’t get him back until 5 pm! Not to mention, my pup was so distressed he had giant tear stains on his face. On top of that, they upped their prices again without informing me. I’m very disappointed in the turn of events but we won’t be returning.

Bark of the Town is consistently excellent. Our dog, Luna, is always perfectly groomed and the site is clean and organized. Their COVID preparation is totally by the books and safer than most of the places I’ve been since March. I highly recommend Patty, Angela and everyone working there.

Don’t bring your dog here!!! No water for dogs that are there all day. If your dog is a Barker they put them in the attic in a cage where no one can see them. They should be shut down , all employees know about the Ruby room!!! That’s where the barkers go, horrible conditions

I have taken my wire-haired dog here multiple times now and every time is as great as the last. I have given him baths myself in between grooming, but he never stays as clean and fresh as he does after a day at bark of the town. The groomers are all certified and extremely knowledgeable to breed standards (if that's your sort of thing). They also notice things and recommend going to my vet if they see an ear infection brewing for example. And that is very helpful as it is usually caught before it's bad and causing him pain. I think some of these other reviewers don't understand how difficult it must be to groom a bunch of dogs and get cuts perfectly while the dog is moving around or trying to bite. Yes bite... even the best dogs don't all like to be with strangers who are messing with their fro. It happens. And if they told me to muzzle my dog or take another precaution- I would. Who would want a person to get bit? And yes if you don't groom your long haired dog enough and it gets matted... they will have to cut the matts out and yes there may be a bald spot. Matts hurt! I wouldn't want one left on my dog. In conclusion- they are awesome and I love the new location with the pet items for sale. The spray conditioner stuff is awesome and I love their selection of collars and leashes. The owner is hysterical and doesn't mind me hanging around while I wait a half a day for my dog to get done since I live far away. (Oh and my dog is 55lbs, very difficult and nervous around strangers and no one could cut his nails before this place)

I have lived in North Andover for almost 5 years now. Bark of the Town is the 4th grooming shop I have brought my dogs to. This is also the last. I take my dogs to be groomed every six weeks. I do bathe them a few times in between, frankly, because they smell like dogs. I feel the groomers are very professional. Seriously people, the groomers bathe the dogs, comb out the dogs, take off ticks, wash the posterior, cut nails, clean ears, and the endless matting!! It is less traumatic on the matted dogs to be cut short that an hour of tugging out matts. The business owner is top notch. Stop shopping around, this is the place to go.
