My wife walked in at 7pm on the dot to pick up a very time sensitive prescription. One year old in tow, after a full day of work, literally jogging to the store and she was turned away at the pharmacy counter with the gate closed in her face because it closes at that exact minute. Her prescription was ready and simply needed to be handed to her. Be a better business. Be better human beings.

The people are nice. That said it's a revolving door of staff. The system both on the customer and provider side is awful, making it hard to automate tasks, consistently fill prescriptions or otherwise do any basic pharmacy tasks. Shortages seem to be coming more common. The system does push for unnecessary procedures, like childhood vaccine boosters for adults who aren't advised to receive them (per CDC). On top of that all the hours are inconsistent and based on multiple bits of CVS info, wrong.

Would give 0 for pharmacy if i could. Had surgery and multiple medications were prescribed including antibiotics and pain killers. My doctor accidentally sent it to this pharmacy instead of my usual one. I called the day of them being prescribed and no one from the pharmacy picked up. I called the next day and again, no one picked up. I went to the store in person while still on hold, now having been 45 mins. One person was in front of me and they didn't seem particularly busy with 4 staff behind the counter. I had to demand they be filled immediately as I was in a lot of pain. I was told i needed to come in person if it was urgent!! Terrible, have never had this at other CVS pharmacies. Whoever runs this store should be looked into by CVS based on my experience and other similar reviews about the pharmacy. Run to 978 Boylston Street Newton CVS and avoid this one at all costs

The pharmacy is seriously Understaffed. I got in line at 4 pm only to be told at 4:30 that my daughter’s prescription is on hold. Then I joined the consultation line … Pharmacist was too busy administering vaccines and did not attend to my issue for another hour. Did not have time for customers. Feel bad for the 2 staff attending to the long line of customers waiting to pick up prescriptions.

As others have pointed out, this branch is particularly bad at pharmacy service. All the CVS stores are clearly understaffed in the pharmacy, but the attitude of some of the staff here (not all) is the worst. They NEVER answer the phone even when they aren't busy. I know this because once after waiting on hold for 40 min, I went to the store and there was no one in line. (Other CVS stores will at least answer some of the time). They are often out of stock of important meds (more than other branches) and as everyone else has said - they don't notify you or make any effort to help you find the medication. The awful software/app doesn't help this situation. I'm sure the real problem is that they are understaffed and overworked - but somehow this branch is noticeably worse.

This pharmacy is shameful. They never answer the phone. They are out of stock on most medications and never update you as to when the medication will be available. I waited more than 7 days and the medication was still unavailable. I moved the prescription to Walgreens down the street and they were able to fill the same medication in ONE day! The pharmacist is amazing and does all he can but CVS is NOT a place that serves patients with their needs. I strongly suggest switching to ANY other pharmacy chain.

Clean and organized store. Great looking passport Photo Booth but because they are under staffed or staff is underpaid they gave me a disparaged look and let out a sigh to tell me that the “film” needs to be changed to take photo (we all know it’s digital photos) and to come back in a few hours (when the store will be closed). Unreliable service here for that - going down the street to Walgreens.

This pharmacy has lost all touch with it's customer base. They frequently are out of stock on prescription and late on several of mine to the point I run out. They don't answer the phone, just spent 45 minutes on hold with no answer, and once I complained to the pharmacist for them not filling my prescriptions on time, he told me to take my business elsewhere. I am actually trying to do that, but they won't release the medications to the new pharmacy. They are a total disaster, avoid the pharmacy at all costs!!!

I feel bad for the overworked pharmacist, so it's not a reflection on him. But the wait times were huge, and *the system double-books COVID booster time slots*, so people were easily waiting 30 minutes past their reservation. Pharmacy customers who hadn't called in their prescriptions had essentially no chance of getting them filled because the staff was just barely keeping up with existing demand, and the phones were backing up.Again, I don't blame the staff who were there, but the management needs to understand that the system isn't working right now.

The pharmacy is a nightmare. I have never been able to get a prescription filled on time. It takes forever to get them on the phone. When I'm finally able to speak with someone, they will tell me it is issues with insurance and that prior authorization is required, even though my insurance covers my medications and my dr sends PA every month. I tell someone this literally every month. Whatever system they use for cataloging information will tell them I have picked up prescriptions when I haven't. Every month, I have to call and wait nearly an hour before speaking with someone, correct them, ask them to change a date in their system and then they're like, "oh, ok, we will have this filled for you by the end of the day." They are either incompetent or not provided the proper tools for their jobs. Either way, it is a nightmare. I am never using this pharmacy again.

It's CVS so I never expect much but the new store is clean and bright. It seems that the front store employees are never on the floor making the self check out is the only option. Nothing is wrong with that but the machines can have issues at time and you are stuck standing there waiting for help that's not around. When you are able to find an employee they aren't the most helpful but I'm sure they're over worked

I can find everything I need for my apartment, gift giving and of course my medications. To a person, the team is helpful, patient and friendly. The store is immaculate and the hours of operation are fantastic. Thank you!

I have no problem with the retail store, but I give this location 1 star because of the atrocious pharmacy service. I have a prescription which requires frequent conversations with a pharmacy staff member--I have switched that to a different CVS location because 1) no one ever answers the phone at this location and 2) even when I try talking with someone in person, they are not helpful. I have had a very different experience at other CVS locations.

My gf made an appointment for a flu shot today for 1:30pm and we walked there together. After showing up on time we had to stand in line for 13 minutes to check in only to be ( very unapologetically) told there will be another 30 minutes wait, because the lady doing the shots "is on the phone". That is during the pandemic, when we are told to avoid being indoors with strangers for extended periods of time. Seriously?We left immediately, I would give them zero stars if possible. People, please avoid this store!

Main line says all locations do walk-in COVID-19 booster appts. Upon arrival today at 1100, Priya states that walk-ins are not welcome for myself and my toddler can’t get the vaccine even though I said the vaccine is for me and not for her. Obviously, toddlers are not eligible yet. CVS should indicate that all locations do not allow walk-ins to prevent confusion and wasting anyone’s time to get the booster or vaccine. We told Priya that the mainline says you can walk in and she responds with “no, we don’t do walk-in’s.” CVS needs to fix this miscommunication with staff or fix their mainline messaging system.

I am using this pharmacy for my rx prescriptions have a good seevice everytime. The pharmacists and workers nice and kind everytime. Probably need more staff but i never waited more than 10 - 15 minutes at all.

I placed a photo order for a canvas print. I went in yesterday to pick it up at the time it was supposed to be ready and was told they didn't have anyone in the store working yesterday who could do it. They promised it would be done today. Then they called me today and told me the machine was broken -there was no mention of that yesterday when I went in. When I asked if they could transfer the order to another store I was told there wasn't a manager on site today and no one else in the store knew how to transfer the order, so all they could do was cancel it. How is the store open with no manager on site and no one else competent enough to do the manager's job?

I switched over to this particular cvs because it is near where I live. I’ve never done a review good or bad about any retail establishment. I’ve been with this particular cvs pharmacy for almost a year. I’ve never had one smooth pharmacy transaction since I’ve started with them. Today was the worst and I’m finally going to leave cvs all together. I’d rather drive way out of my way than to go back there. Please believe me when I say they are the worst. From customer service to having your prescription ready they fail all around.

I'm sure based off all the other reviews everyone knows this will be about the pharmacy. Told me 30min wait twice.. the third time I was told it would be 30mins, I said "I was told that an hour ago." She responded with "Idk, I just got here. We're busy." I ultimately left. Went to the CVS on Watertown St. They were *great* had it for me in 10 mins.Guys, please fix this CVS.. not good.
