Nora's helpfulness and attention to detail have truly made a difference during my visits to CVS. Whether it's assisting with checkout or providing valuable advice on products, Nora's dedication to customer service shines through. The employees at this pharmacy give every sign of absolutely hating their jobs, and what they hate most of all is dealing with the public. By “public” I mean the customers who patronize the pharmacy and have the misfortune of being subjected to the almost incredible incompetence and hostility of said employees while supplying CVS with the profits from which the employees’ wages are paid. In fact, the pharmacists seem to take a kind of pride in seeing who can be the most incompetent and the most unpleasant to deal with; they regard themselves as an oppressed minority standing in solidarity against The Man--meaning in reality, the hapless citizens of Newton who must come here to get our prescriptions filled. This applies equally to staff who supposedly occupy supervisory roles but have no more interest than their subordinates in taking responsibility for anything. Customers like me who must use CVS because our insurers require it are subjected to abuse from these malcontents on a regular basis. If you are lucky enough not to be in that position, I suggest you take your prescriptions and run, don’t walk, as far away as you can from this hotbed of dysfunction.

Genuinely the worst pharmacy experience I have ever had. The female pharmacist (who also seems to be the only pharmacist?) is extremely unpleasant and rude and seems to hate her job. She was doing everything in her power to not give me my prescription and started ignoring calls from both me and my PCP. Really ridiculous experience and total lack of respect from the staff. Never going here again! I would recommend Union Pharmacy who got me my prescription within 2 hours and with a pleasant attitude.

Store needs some love. I found the associates to be very helpful. They get 5 stars. The store doesn’t have any shopping carts and the shopping basket I was using was broken. The place could use a deep clean (dusting, vacuuming, mopping & organizing the shelves).

Had a great Customer service experience, Melo, a great gentleman greeted me and asked if I needed help finding something, dropped everything he did and found the item I was looking for in the back. Friendly, efficient, and charismatic, would definitely come back, he deserves a raise !

Rude, incompetent and moronic, this is how one may describe the personnel of the pharmacy at CVS store in Newton Center. Everything seems just wrong: agitated, unhappy, visibly depressed staff; Messy store and very poor customer service. I saw a guy named Habrouz, called the "floater" by the store manager, literally pointing a finger at a customer and asking him to shut up. He was aggressive, jumpy and all-sweating for no reason. The customer was asking a very simple question about Flu Shots that were meant to be on walk-in basis but on this day, apparently they were too busy to take any walk-ins. If you disrespect this customer today, you will disrespect next time I am in the store; this is unacceptable. As a result of this experience, I am taking my business to Walgreens; I will never shop at CVS, any CVS. Close this store.

When I showed up for the vaccination appointment, which was reserved days ahead, the pharmacy person said that they ran out of vaccines. No one bothered to call and let me know that. She say “there is nothing I can do”. What a waste of my time!

I have been calling for 4 hours trying to find out why they cannot fill my prescription and they have not answered. I get put on hold and eventually hung up on between 7 and 42 minutes after the hold starts. It's happened 7 times now.

Pharmacist needs to find a personality. Checking to to be sure they received my prescription fax. She looked and said coldly yes. Thank yous or sure happy to check on that for you would be a great way to handle a simple question. CVS in Newton centre has definitely lost a lot over the years including a pharmacist that had personality and knowledge. She was smart enough to go across the street to Union Pharmacy where you will find professionalism and class. That will be this reviewers new pharmacy along with many other people we know.

A really nice employee named Zach was working there while I was renewing my passport photo. He seemed very genuine, eccentric and overall made my experience at CVS significantly better. I feel my description doesn't do him justice, truly an outstandingly likable person.

My 13 year old was racially profiled and harrassed by the security guard. When I called to speak to the manager, he pretended he couldnt hear me. I will be filing a police report.

The cashier was very friendly. The manager was rude and nasty. Me and my 6 year old just came in to grab a Gatorade and checked out. On our way out the manager begins to yell at the cashier saying we needed a mask to be there. I get it it’s a private business and they can make their own rules but they should try the nice approach and say excuse me, could you go back to your car and grab a mask or hey next time you come in please don’t forget a mask. I won’t go back to this store, I recommend you don’t either

Worst pharmacy EVER!!!!! They don’t have your medication ready when they are suppose to. I had glucose supplies and medicine that are SCHEDULED for every month and how could they mess up monthly supplies??? I had to call the day of and asked and they were like it’s not filled yet and they don’t have the supply even though it was on automatic refill. This is the first pharmacy that is soo disorganized and incompetent. Clearly the pharmacy is overwhelmed but only has a few customers. Avoid them if you can!!! On another note, I thought it could not get worse. I added my newborn to my insurance and wanted to give them my information over the phone Because it was just a email confirmation. They refused stating it will be harder for them.... seriously it is a EMAIL with group, medical number, PIN number and rx bin #. This is the MOST INCOMPETENT PHARMACY I HAVE GONE TO. Yes I am mad! I live so close to this CVS and been a customer for a while and hate to transfer my stuff out of CVS but there is no feedback system and just a broken system.

They simply don't answer their phone. My dr called in a prescription for my older son several days ago. CVS hasn't texted me to say it's ready. They won't answer the phone. I called 3 times yesterday afternoon, and twice this morning. I have a small baby I'd rather not take out multiple times.Moving scripts to Walgreen's. The service can't get worse.The last time I was in there after another woman yelled at them about the phone issue, they acknowledged that they don't answer their phone. When I asked about flu shot availability, she reaffirmed this, saying they didn't have any in stock, but i should stop by another time because they restocked frequently "but don't call, because we don't answer the phone."Update:Moved my scripts back. Who knew Walgreens would never have things in stock? It took them 2 weeks to fill a common script. Customer service has significantly improved here. Maybe enough people left to manage the workload? Or new management? Either way, I am content now. And they now seem to answer their phone!!

Absolute worst CVS I've experienced. Such a shame as it totally does not match the high level of Newton Centre. The pharmacy staff are all so depressing and lacking in customer service. Just call them...you'll be able to tell immediately from the dis-interested or rude manner they answer the phone. The store is also old and dingy and it just seems ike none of the staff enjoy or tolerate their jobs. PLEASE...just tear it down already and build a nice bright, clean one with better service. Simply pathetic.

In a long life this is the worst run business I've ever dealt with. I've been filling the exact same prescription using the exact same insurance in this pharmacy for more than 5 years, and nonetheless they manage to screw it up *every single time*--I mean, every time, no exceptions. They do not answer their phone obviously as a matter of policy, not only because of chronic understaffing. They advertise free delivery but it is obviously not possible, again by design, to get delivery. They always, always, forget to apply my insurance and make me wait *every single time* I fill my prescriptions (2 of them, both very common medications) while they sort out the paperwork. The staff are rude and do not know their business. I continue to go here ONLY because it's required by my drug insurer, Caremark, under my employer's policy. If CVS didn't have massive contracts with big insurance companies they couldn't possibly stay in business with this level of ongoing incompetence and dishonesty. Such systemic malpractice is all about growing profits by slashing standards of service.

Im writing this review while I’m in line. If you actually need medication to survive don’t come here. It takes three hours to pick up a prescription that’s already ready. And when the woman goes to get it she walks slower than my pet turtle. I hate it here.

Worst experience yet. Went here. Waited 10 minutes before being helped. Asked if I wanted to pick it up in 30 min. or 1 hour. Said 1 hour. The woman behind the counter said "GOOD", because they were too busy. Came back in an hour. Stood in line for 20 minutes while the woman behind the counter engaged each person in front of me in a personal conversation. I'm all good for friendly service, but not when there is a long line of waiting people. You get your customers in and out. Not one likes to wait that long.Only to be told my medication was not ready!!! So switching to a new pharmacy. Not only was this place understaffed and unprofessional but I also had to drive around a good while looking for a parking place. If you're looking to get in and out this is not your place. Especially when the medication is for a child!!!

The review given four months ago by B.C. sounds exactly like the review that I would have given to the CVS store on Washington St in Weymouth, I live on the S. Shore (miles away from Newton) but about three months ago, I switched to the Newton Center Street CVS because of some very unpleasant and unacceptable customer service situations at the Weymouth CVS. (For over a year, there has been an issue about a brand name medication vs. the generic version of the med. My insurance covers the brand name since my prescribing physician has always specified that "no substitutions" are allowed. ) Without going into further personal details, the CVS Newton provided me the best customer care that I have ever received from a pharmacy, I''m driving there today to pick up a refill (the brand name med but with a higher co-pay, which is fine by me) and hoping that the same pharmacy team, who helped me three months ago, will be working today. This may sound corny, but I've been telling family and friends that "not all CVS pharmacies are created equal". I'll revisit this review should things go South with the Newton CVS. Though gas prices are high, for now I'd rather drive miles away to Newton than deal with the other CVS closer to home.

The WORST CVS. My family transferred all our prescriptions to Walgreens but I can’t because I use CVS at college, which is really well run and professional there. However, when trying to transfer prescriptions to the home location, they NEVER pick up. It’s extremely frustrating; I’ve had to try calling multiple times. After 15 minutes, they’ll pick up and say please hold. They’re also extremely lazy and do not come up to the register for a while when customers are there. They don’t even acknowledge you and say that they will be with you in a minute. Something is wrong with this place because it is run horribly.

50 minutes on hold to get hung up on. What happened? I used to trust these guys.If I go through an automated system to request a refill, get a confirmation that I will have my script at 3:00pm, then call back at 3:15 to have the system say “sorry that hasn’t been requested yet,” I feel like CVS could not give a rats behind about my current medical needs. Pull your Stuff together, y’all. This is unacceptable. (Typically try not to complain on reviews but this has been corroborated by experiences of others close to me as well as witnessing patrons try and fail to get the service they need.)

This has been my pharmacy for 15 years. Within the last 5 or so it has gone downhill. EVERY person behind the counter is lazy and has an attitude. They refuse to pick up the phone to help a customer. Again, 15 years. last month the pharmacist said he needed to inform me that the prescriptions I was picking up were harmful since I was nursing. I have nursed a child in a decade and I have been on these meds for four years, first time they have ever told me they would hurt a baby. Yeah I trust them.

This is the worst runner cvs I have ever been in. They do not answer the phone and leave their “valued customers” on hold for 30 minutes. They say your prescription will be ready and when you go to pick it up they continue to say that the prescription is out of stock, this is extremely unprofessional.
