The people here are working their tails off, but it is always a mess. Not enough people. CVS, as a company, has taken on too much. There is a problem every time I go there and I have good prescription insurance, but have to use CVS. Wish I had a choice.

999 Watertown st. pharmacy is being sabotaged by their current unprofessional management. Time-sensitive prescriptions are not refilled in a timely manner - they always have a new excuse to fail their customers : claiming to be understaffed, medicine out of stock -no warning given, changing automatic refills without any notice etc.The woman who claimed to be their current pharmacy manager is either an imposter or just lacks relevant education and/or experience to be in this role (she was not wearing a name tag to confirm her identity when I talked to her. Is that not a minimal requirement for a professional working with sensitive personal patient data?? Even worse- was not able to produce any coherent answers to my questions). It’s a pity this pharmacy is being badly mismanaged at this location.

WARNING to anyone who is considering going to this CVS the owner has customers cars towed. I went into the CVS to the pharmacy and had to wait 30 minutes for the pharmacy, but when I left the store my car was gone and had been towed. The owner gets a kick back from the tow company and they will charge you almost $300 in cash to get your car back! BE WARNED!!

Save yourself the time. Go the extra few minutes to a different pharmacy.Inside there is a constant turnover of staff. Staff are often standing around gossiping about patients and laughing while the phone rings unanswered and long lines persist. At least one person in line usually has an issue and is angry because staff are under trained and don't know how to use the system or input insurance. Expect to wait more than 10 minutes just to talk to pharmacist and another 20 to get your prescription filled. Then another 10 to wait in line to pick it up. Even when the CVS app messages you that the prescription is filled, staff will argue with you that it isn't until you force them to check. I've had this happen multiple times and seen it occur to multiple others.I've waited on hold when calling this pharmacy for more than 25 minutes trying to get a prescription transferred to another CVS only to have staff deny that they can transfer prescriptions and then hang up on me. This is primarily because they are unwilling to take 5 seconds to look up a store number and are under trained. I've verified with two other CVS locations that they can transfer prescriptions out and are very likely under trained.Trust me, this isn't the experience you want. Save yourself the time. Go the extra few minutes to a different pharmacy.

I came here 3 times to pick up one medication after Receiving a text that it was ready. The first time the whole pharmacy was closed for lunch, the second there was a problem with my insurance (despite being told it was ready) and the third I came and it was still not ready, I am now here wait 20min for a medication that was supposed to be ready 24 hours ago. It’s just a mess here and employees don’t seem happy to be here.

Absolutely horrible, drove 30 min for a vaccine. Checked in successfully on the app when I arrived and then at the pharmacy section they said they don’t have the vaccine anymore and have to cancel my appointment. Organizational nightmare

Something is seriously up with this pharmacy. Every time I’m in, there are 7+ pharmacy calls on hold on the line and a line wrapping down the aisle. Don’t even try to call, if you get through they’ll just be rude.My 8 month old needed medication after being discharged from the hospital. It was sent in at 10am and when I went at 7pm it still wasn’t ready and wouldn’t be until following day because they were “too slammed”. So she had to miss a dose.Clearly they are understaffed, but time and time again refilling here has become an increasingly worse experience!

I am a physician and I was trying to speak to a pharmacist. I gave up waiting on hold after 1 hour and 15 minutes. This is completely unacceptable.

The pharmacy is very rude.I called asking if they had my medication in stock as I was changing doses and didn't want it called in to a pharmacy that didn't have it. The person who answered the phone basically said "we can't tell you if we have it in stock as you don't have an active prescription for it. If you have a problem with my answer you can talk to the pharmacist". The pharmacist was at least helpful in telling me if it was in stock or not, but was rude the engine time.Go literally anywhere else but here

Pharmacy should make lunch time visible for customers. The sign with the hours saus no lunch break. However they do close from 1:30 to 2pm.When I asked about hours posted pharmacy employee replied 'I wish I could change it" We are taking lunch for a year now.Well, one year later they did not bother to update hours

On 10/20/2020 I went to CVS to pick up my diabetic medication because I got a call early in the morning saying it was ready. When I got to the CVS store on 999 Watertown Street in West Newton, MA, "Peggy" said that they did not have my prescription ready and pointed me towards the pharmacist. He then told me that this CVS store was out of my diabetic medication. I said that this is not acceptable and I needed some for that evening. I also asked him why I was called in to pick up my med and then told it was not available for me. It was sold to someone else! I was then given 3 pills to hold me over until they got a shipment in. Upon reading the prescription label, my amount number of this medication was changed form a 90-day supply to a 20-day supply. Why?I tried to leave a note on the CVS complaint website but could not. This store is so bad I could not even leave my complaint on the Website!Who is assessing the pharmacy supply and ordering the replacement stock? Why don't you have a back-up system in place then this kind of medication "shortage" occurs? Why can't you connect to other CVS pharmacies and ask for help when stock is running low?The people who work on the CVS floor are nice and very helpful. The people who work behind the pharmacy counter are abysmal. You need to hire more people who are educated and understand how to run a pharmacy.

Worst pharmacy in town, hands down. Don’t bother calling the pharmacy because they will never pick up. If you’re there in person you can watch them ignoring the call until the caller eventually gives up. You can show up several days after arranging your prescription and they will ask “did you want to get that filled now?” Once my spouse was waiting for an important rx so I showed up to ask after it, was told “the pharmacist is still working on it” and my spouse received a call shortly after that they had run out 4 days before and wouldn’t get more for another 4 days... so they lied, the pharmacist had never looked at the prescription at all, and had, through inaction, made a decision that my spouse would go off her meds for 8 days without notice. If I could, I might have rated zero stars but I guess they can have one star because they have great prices on candy.

I hate having prescriptions filled here. They are randomly closed for the day on a Saturday. All day today. Closed. They are always way understaffed and overwhelmed and you’ll never get them on the phone.

I had a good experience with the Pharmacy staff! The guy on the phone and the girl at the counter were really nice and expedited my RX fill.I came here after having a terrible experience at the location on Walnut St. I'm definitely getting my prescriptions here from now on!

The cashiers are four stars because they are friendly. However, the pharmacy is one star. They're really disorganized and slow. I hate filling prescriptions here. They tell you prescriptions are ready when they're not or they don't tell you when your prescription is ready. They don't answer the phone. Avoid.

Pharmacist technician Ling is not helpful at all. My husband got out of strips to check blood sugar and it's very important to check blood daily, but pharmacist told him to come in 20 days. Then she told him to come next day. Next day she told him to come next day again. Thanks to another older pharmacist to at least helping to get the problem moving. The prescription was moved to another pharmacy where the pharmacist helped my husband. Needs to be more helpful and thoughtful to people who is not healthy and have problems.

If I could give this branch 0 stars I would. I am going through chemo and this is the closest cvs to our home. Both my oncologist and I have never been able to get through on the phone. Absurd customer service especially when you are so sick and have such time sensitive pharmacy needs. You would think the line for the doctors to call in would at least be answered but no. This place should be reported to the BBB. Even now I’ve been on hold for 30min waiting to see when my script will be ready. If I wasn’t so sick we would switch, we certainly will be as soon as distance is not so important.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The person answering the phone at the pharmacy is one of the rudest person I’ve ever encountered in a customer service role. I highly recommend going to the cvs on Harvard st in Waltham even if it’s further out of the way. I don’t wish for anyone to be treated the way I was.

Usually a good store, but very frustrated today. I was picking up a medication and asked for a flu shot and the pharmacist wouldn’t let me get one at that time because they were too busy filling prescriptions... at 8:30 in the morning. Well everyone expecting prescriptions isn’t going to show up within the next 30 mins on a Monday morning, you can take 2 minutes to give me a shot. Also the med I had to pick up. My doctor keeps calling in the prescription monthly, but they don’t fill it then, they keep waiting for me to call before they fill it. Cvs just put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day.

0 stars to pharmacist Dan Kiel for checking in for COVID vaccine. He did not know how to process payment with valid insurance card and acted like it was our fault. He said we could not have vaccine with this insurance. When I reminded him that the state provides COVID vaccines regardless the insurance , he made a call , took the same insurance card again and processed it. No apologies whatsoever. It felt same as interacting with a robot. This pharmacist should never face customers. Worst place to have COVID vaccine.

I would give zero stars if this was an option. The store associate named Tia has a major attitude and was extremely rude. CVS- better screen your employees! This is how you easily and unnecessarily lose loyal customers.

One of the larger drugstores within a couple miles, this CVS also has a good selection of snacks and foods to get while you are waiting for your pharmacy needs.Employees are nice and feel like your neighbors, if you are feeling like you want some candy before a show, this might be the place to go!Be aware of parking in the back, occasionally, during busy times, the parking lot in back will fill up because there is a bank, a fitness studio, and dental and professional offices above.

Very fast, friendly, professional service here.I got my passport photos taken there today. I received very fast and professional service from Paggy. She also helped me choosing the best picture from a few ones that she took. They are ready in a few minutes! Thank you very much, Paggy! ☺️ Everyone is wearing the mask. Highly recommended.
