My German Shepherd has recently received medical treatment for a wound on his hip that required stitches with daily bandage changes fora couple weeks needing to be done by a vet. Tufts animal hospital, who I brought my GSD to for this particular issue, first stated that any competent local vet should have no issues performing the cleanings and bandaging and that there was no reason why we had to travel to Tufts after the first two days they cared for the wound.When I called Mendon Animal Clinic, they were eager to put their new “surgeon” on the case, and an appointment was made to continue the bandage changes locally. Less than 24 hours before the appointment, they called to decline, stating they’d rather have Tufts continue to do the wound care because they didn’t have the medication necessary for the wound that Tufts was willing to provide to them. This was after multiple calls/texts from them confirming the appointment.To recap, Tufts said ANY local vet could service the wound without issue, but of course competence is assumed. Mendon Animal Clinic states they have a new surgeon, but he won’t perform a bandage change. They then proceed to cancel the appointment on short notice with no consideration for the inconvenience this causes.It’s true what other bad reviewers say on here. Mendon Animal Clinic has gone down hill since changing ownership. Which is a shame because this area needs more quality vets. Really disappointing.Ownership/their marketers will surely provide some excuse here in response, but I will always trust the consensus of 3 vets at Tufts over Mendon Animal Clinic any day.

The best vet I've ever had the girls there are so amazing, so knowledgeable and caring, everytime I bring one of my dogs they have awnsers qiuck and treatment starts fast,.Thank you for all you do, Piston loves you for it..

We’ve been bringing our dog and cats for years, they really care about the well-being of our pets. The staff was amazingly helpful and supportive when I had to make difficult decisions about end of life care for my geriatric cat, while not once ever making me feel guilty or judged. They are busy, so you just have to plan to schedule your appointments in advance, but they have a website option which makes it easy to do. I love having them as our vet.

BEWARE- I have been taking my dog to this clinic for 15 years. She was recently diagnosed with cancer, each time I called to get an appointment regarding her pain they had NO open appointments, merely prescribed additional pain med. She unfortunately lost use of her hind leg, which says to me at 17 years old we will need to put her down but instead they turfed us to urgent care, stating, “we have NO open appointments “…. So, instead of doing the right thing they send us to another vet… BEWARE…. Their priorities are upside down. Won’t recommend them to my worst enemy!!!! NO compassion!!

Under new management. Not as good as the old. Needed to bring a special needs dog in from waiting in the parking lot during a heavy storm. The clerk, who seems to have a profound hearing loss, came back to the room and started a confrontation about this in front of the animal (never a good idea). She left the dog panting and anxious for the remainder of the visit. She also did not understand what was said to her multiple times during the visit. The vet seems to be good, but not a good experience for the animal. Have found another vet.

First time customer, they handled my dog well; she’s terrified of the vet and getting her nails trimmed. They did great and were friendly and welcoming. Decent rates. Was a bit upset they cut the quick(s) of my dogs nails for the first time ever and I’m sure that hurt like HELL so next time I will specially say not too short. Everyone there was very friendly, kind, and patient. I have two dogs and went two different days, and both experiences were calm and organized. We waited in our car to be called in, which added a little time but not much. I liked that I could go inside with my mask on and be with my nervous dogs.

I am on SSI MY DOG is 15 years old, sprang her lower right shin ( right away they said there going to check me dog out $71 the two X-rays $145. Then a Radiograph for $72 they took the dog ) . Then I my dog crying over an hour or so we waited ! I am a handicap disabled person, I didn't understand ? My friend tried to ask for a payment plan from the doctor. The doctor said to ask billing for the plan . We stepped out the door ask billing Billing they page the management biller . She was rude management biller said we agreed to service. I look at my friend my friend looked at me said what when ? They made us pay the bill. Now my landlord supplement part is $200, He will now throw me out, an I'll lose my section 8 now. No supplement payment. This Mendon animal clinic doesn't care about a billing plan,, they don't care if you and the dog gets kicked out and be living in a tent homeless because the Ruthless Mendon clinic wouldn't give a mentally handicap disabled handicap person on SSI owner of a hurt loved dog a simple plan. My ex veterinarian Metro West alwayss gave me a plan ! There more under standing Not Gouging during the Covid . I hope the intire world Crashes down to ground zero, on gouging on poor class people, whom have it hard an suffer like me and many more retired and disabled people as well. In 6 monthes life will be Hell on earth property and vehicles jobs will all crash . There will be no more GOUGING BILLING !

This place used to be good when it belonged to Dr Fabricotti, she never turned anyone down. My pet was sick a couple of months ago and they said that they couldn't see her, because I was a new client and to call back in a week for an appt. Wouldn't even try to go here again.

We have been going here for over 20 years and right before New Years they leave my 19 year old sweet as can be Chihuahua without care. My husband is driving around as we speak trying to find someone to treat him due to the understaffing at the hospitals. I put in a call yesterday asking for the veterinarian to call me and no call back and no medication.I called back again this morning to let them know that last night he had a seizure and was actually in pain and the receptionists were extremely frustrated with me and instead let me know I've been nothing but a hassle and that they would mail me my dogs records. I started crying saying what do you even mean? She continued to say they would not treat my dog or give him any medication. I then said why would you do that, he could die and I would never want to report this office or anyone here and ive been coming here forever? She continued to tell me to calm down while I couldn't stop crying because now I had no idea where to go and she just told me to figure it out while I said well please don't mail them I have to have him seen I will pick my records up then. I went to pick my records up while i was still in shock of what happened and had my kids crying with dogs in the car and they pretty much threw the papers at me. I honestly can't believe this happened and pray they never get this type of treatment when they go to the hospital to get treatment. I pray for my boy 🙏

Hi have been going to mendon animal clinic for over 20 yrs with my pets. I brought my cat there Feb 3 rd to find out why she was having trouble swallowing. I am on fixed income and asked about prices for blood work. I ended up paying 200. For the visit. 2 days later they called me and told me that she had a cyst in her stomach that was probably cancer. They wanted to do an ultra sound on her so I asked how much. They told me it was 450. I don't have that kind of money. I asked to have another apt and they told me they were full no appts that she needed to be seen to go to another vet. The following week I called again and they said they were getting ready go call me she needed dental work gave me I told them what I thought was going on. 2 med anti biotic and something for her to eat more. I called again today to tell them I might have to put her to sleep. I am having a tough time that. The girl told me she would have the Dr call me 7:15still no call. They told me that my cat needs to be seen just not by them. I am very upset. If you ant to save your pet go else where. I really miss Holly

We brought our 6 month old rescue to this clinic because it is one of two that my rescue uses to spay and neuter their adopted pets. The clinic called and said everything went well, with the exception of a skin infection. I told the woman on the phone that we are aware of it and are currently addressing the issue with assistance from our vet. She went on to say that they had given him an antibiotic injection and will be sending him home with oral antibiotics. They will also be charging us for both the injection and pills. I'm totally puzzled and don't understand how they can justify giving my dog an injection that I did not authorize and then tell me, I'm going to be charged for it. I voiced this to the person on the phone. She replied with, I asked if there were any other concerns. That's not correct, she asked if there were any concerns we wanted them to address...and the answer was no. We only need you to neuter him. She was not happy and proceeded to disconnect the call. Upon pick up, my intention was to stay in the car and let my boyfriend handle it. She walked up to the car and proceeded to say to my boyfriend..." your wife is a piece of work, a piece of work I tell you". Talk about unprofessional! I got out of the car after hearing her with the hopes of a resolution, only to be met with her screaming like a crazy person, refusing to talk to me and saying she was happy im not one of her regular clients.You administered something without permission and then got nasty when I told you it was inappropriate. Hope you don't treat all clients this way...Definitely not happy with the service or the handling of the situation. Do not recommend.

They're a very warm and caring facility. We only took one cat in after we moved and they were the only staff she was really cooperative with. Fortunate to have found a good group here.

They have the expertise, the staff, and most of all, the compassion to care for your pet. They listen and they will do everything within their power to either keep your pet healthy, or to get your pet back to being healthy. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Great team!

My experiences here have never been anything special but we stayed with this clinic for years anyways. When my dog started to get allergies two years ago they really weren't much help and it took several visits for them to finally agree that he did have an allergy and needed proper medication. When I am not around to take him for his shot my mother takes him and is charged $62 and somehow it always ends up being $121 when I go. I specifically said in the room he needs his shot and nothing else today. I called five minutes after I had left to make sure I was charged correctly and really was not helped. I was asked very obvious questions that they already knew the answer to: "Did the doctor go in the room?" "Did she look at his skin?" yep she did, she needed to look at him to administer the shot and she picked up one of his paws to look at it... temperature was not taken, no head to toe examination but I was charged for one!Moral of the story: Mendon animal clinic has lost a customer today but we should have left this business years ago.
