12/10/2023 this location is slow service and a lot of ppl who work there are rude.they walk over and by customers in a way like ' move out my way' security 2 ..I waited in a line for 30 min untill it was my turn ..smh I recommend Shaw's or stop&shop... everyone speaks Haitian Creole but I think Spanish people run this market 🤦

I shop at America's food basket 2-3 times a week.. it's closer than other markets, the food is not bad, the prices are decent, but recently I bought a loaf of wheat bread for $ 3.99 two wks later I went back and bought the same bread it was now $5.29 shock me..I asked if that was the real price and just as I thought indeed it was..I know that prices are up everywhere and it's hurting people all over the country. I pray that it gets better. I enjoy shopping there..people are polite and friendly..great atmosphere.

America food basket is good in the area because it helps a lot of people that live around especially people in mattapan you know, some people too go there because it's easy to some of them they having free transportation, and then they is gypsy cab over there to,you know, wishes easy for the customer to.

The place wasn't too crowded and I was able to get the two 24 packs of waters and other grocery items I wanted. The cashier was very nice and cordial and processed my items very quickly.On the way out one of the store clerks also help me put away the cart I used to shop.Overall a very nice experience.

The cashier and bag packers have no customer service its like we are not spending our hard earn money. I will not be going back to the Mattapan Branch so sorry I am a regular customer there but I will spend my money else where. I spoke to the manager about the cashier and bag packer attitude and she ignore me as a store manager. I would not recommend anyone to shop at this store because the cashier manager and bag packers don't know how to deal with customers. The securities are great

They are now selling expired products. Today is september 8th and I found more than 2 can of pasta sauce dated best by september 01/2022. Last week that was a bag of frozen spinach. And 2 times is enough. Please watch watch what you're buying folks.

Not good Customer service. I went there a while ago while visitig my family and the cashier was rude and barley said a word to me. I don't think I will be going back to this one, which suck because it so close to home.

This store has an excellent selection of fresh fruit and vegetables including exotics. The store itself has some really good workers but most are very rude. If you can get over that then it's worth it to shop here for meats, Fruits and Vegetables. The grocery items are expensive.

It's a hidden gem for me. It looks small from outside but it's huge inside . Being a vegan I especially like the variety of fruits and veggies. You can find malanga there as well which is amazing root vegetable. Another unbeatable variety that you can find in AFB is species for sure . Whatever you like from species they have it . I was able to find cumin seed, anis , cloves and so much more !!! And yes , did I mention the prices ! So affordable , large variety and fresh produce - cannot ask for more !!!

It's ok. Sometimes they have good sales. J u st need to watch when they ring it up.Sale items don't always ring up. But Mangagement us accommodating most of the time.It's a neighborhood grocery store which rates the 4 stars.

I go here cause it's close to home. Have good prices on some things and everyone is nice. They provide free transportation back home to people who have groceries over $100. I think that's excellent although I wish it was from $50 up. Good place.

America's Food Basket sells African-American products. This store was so crowded in the afternoon. They have Latin American products like drink mixes, canned fish, raw seafood, tropical Carribbean drinks, birthday candles, prayer candles, takeout, coffee products, stationery, toys and games, juices, pharmacy, bakery products and snacks. Perfect for waiting the 30 bus to Forest Hills.

It was ok at first but now you'll only find sales when items are close to being expired so check those dates also they wont restock certain items that sell all the time until the ones that aren't selling finally sell 😂

No stars for this place its disgusting raggedy shopping carts looking so old thought they were from ames or woolworth. It smelled when i got in there to the point i thought that maybe it penetrated the taste of the water. It kills me to give it one star but the app demands it. Im sure the owner doesnt shop there.

I shop here all the time without hesitation until today when I bought a round spice bun and it's expired wouldn't make such a big deal because it happens BUT AGAIN BUT this product expired in 2008 yes 12 years ago y was that even still on the store never less the shelf!!!!

The manager got no common sense and won't even accept the fact that she posted the wrong price on their own stock, want to be strong and wrong...unbelievable place to shop, always dirty...we deserve Better in Mattapan.

I definitely do not recommend to go to that place. Last time I went grocery shopping, one the staff was being rude to me and screamed at me. Specifically the Spanish lady.

This place is really dirty i used to work here seen lots of mice running around, fruit flies, flies period on thw food. The meat goes in thw shopping cart raw and packaged to sell to customers dont buy from them.

I will NEVER go here again! The meat storage in the back, if you walk past it, it smells like everything in the world died and they're keeping it in the back. The first bread incident, had mold and the employee gave no concern, didn't even throw it away. The second time, there was a fat RAT in the bread section. The whole store looks unsanitary, I don't trust their meats/produce, and the employees are the most ratchet employees I ever witnessed working at a supermarket. The back of the store on the outside, where the packages and trucks go, smells like nothing but piss! I don't know how people shop there because I can't. If you have standards for what goes in your mouth/refrigerator, you WOULD NOT come to Americas food basket (formerly known as Farmers market) in mattapan on cummins hwy!

Certain items are better and cheaper at other markets. Good sales, but if you're on a budget, i wouldnt do a complete shopping here. Only go for certain items and sales.

I've never been there, but I just heard that this location received a citation from the City of Boston for buying a goat carcass from a sketchy vendor. There's a video on you tube. Good luck!!

I love this America food basket !!Everybody is very friendly and I always find everything I'm looking for, they have fresh fruits and vegetables. The bilingual speakers are very helpful and the manager was very helpful and understanding.
