The veterinarian was very informative and sensitive to our dogs needs. Their prices are very competitive and have some affordable health plans for your pet.

I had an appointment to get my dog’s nails trimmed. I have a reactive dog and there were several people with dogs in front of the desk. I held back waiting for an opportunity to let someone know we were there for our appointment. It took a while before I got anyone to acknowledge me. When she did I was told to go to the desk to check in, so I did. I was told that they had to find someone who could cut his nails. It was already past my scheduled appointment time but I continued to wait. I had to keep my dog away from other dogs so had to move away from the desk. No one ever called or looked for us. I went back to the desk about 20 minutes later in somewhat of an irritated mood and someone was suddenly found.I waited all that time with a stressed out reactive dog to get his nails clipped in less than five minutes. Never again!

Thanks to the recommendation by Baer’s staff, our picky puppy will eat his food! The employee first gave me samples for our pup to try out and the next day I was back to purchase the food. What a relief to know our dog will eat his food without much prompting.

We've been regular customers (we like to support local stores) there for quite a while what with owning 500 pounds of dogs, 2 cats and 2 rabbits. That's *been* ... past tense. Never again. Went in today (1/25/23) with a small (red) dog collar we got for a mostly white sheep dog puppy. Mostly-white and, now, red-around-the-neck puppy. The dye from the inside of the Up Country collar was coming off and staining the puppy's neck. When I brought the collar in I spoke to a diminutive woman with overly large eye lashes. Not offering either a scintilla of interest or concern, you would have thought I was trying to return a snow tire. I showed her a picture of my red-necked puppy and the red interior of the collar. She asked when did I buy it "because we have a 30-day return policy." I explained that I simply came in to show her what happened because I thought she'd like to know. (It's what considerate people do.) I immediately got the expected "well that's never happened before" and she suggested instead that I could contact the company. But I bought it from you, not the company. Her response: "What do you want me to do?" I handed her the collar and left. I certainly didn't want a store credit because I am never going back. Between Amazon and Chewy there are too many great options to this kind of attitude and shabby treatment. (ex: Chewy sent us a fabulous flower arrangement when a cat died!) I felt sorry for the fish I saw, swimming around in about 8 ounces of water. And anyone else who has to deal with this woman. But if you miss shopping in da Bronx and need to get your rude on, this could be a great experience.

I started out with an emergency visit at Baer's after being turned away from several local vets after I had just moved back to Falmouth (my hometown). I've brought 4 cats and 2 litters of kittens (Covid not able to get shots in time for spay. Yes, each one has a good home). They are great.

It's important to understand that this is essentially two businesses under one roof: the pet store and the vet. The staff of the pet store are wonderful, consistent, familiar faces over the years who know names, remember pets and are wonderful in general. The vet side of things seems to have high turnover and a very different outlook on customer service. I'm not sure I've ever delt with the same person twice at the vet counter. I've put up with the exorbitantly high prices for basic goods for years because I like the staff and it's important to support local business. When the vet staff sold me the wrong prescription food this year, which made my dog sick, I accepted mistakes happen and continued to shop here. Today though, was the last straw for me: despite being recovered from covid for over a year and fully vaccinated and in possession of my card, I was refused service when I tried to get my dogs prescription because, months after the mask mandate ended, I was not wearing a mask.I will now be paying between 35% and 50% less for my pet needs by shopping elsewhere. I will miss the friendly pet store staff and their good nature, but it is clear that the vet staff and the Veterinarian running the business does not want your business.

We take our dog Doyle here all the time. It's a great store and Caring Hearts Animal Hospital and staff are amazing. Dr Baer and his staff are wonderful people who take the time to listen to your concerns and questions. They also have an amazing pet care plan. Definitely worth checking out.

Great place, very helpful staff! I need to update this. I can't say enough about Dr.Baer. I myself have never met him but last night , as an emergency, he saw and treated our beautiful bulldog, Pearl. I'm told by my daughter and Granddaughter that he was beyond fantastic. He had to refer Pearl to a Cardiologist as he did all he could, which we appreciated. He called to check on her this morning and after hearing that she had passed he called again tonight to express his condolences. I am so impressed by him and his staff. I I highly recommend him!

We've been going here since it opened and I don't have enough nice things to say! Very clean building with all vet approved toys and treats and food for your pets, as well as all the other things your pet may require! We have since moved to Rhode Island and continue to make the hour and a half trip with our dogs! Excellent vet staff, very friendly and the animal care plans they offer can put all pet owners minds and wallets at ease with unlimited office visits! The owners are always there and constantly getting involved at every level....I can't say enough good things about this place!

We have been using Baer since we picked up our first rescue in August of 2018. We have never had an issue with their knowledge, attentiveness, service or pricing. I actually feel good about the pricing when we leave. I’ve had $200+ vet visits other places and have yet to have one that high here. It’s funny to see people complain about not filling an RX from another vet..... would your doctor blindly fill yours with out a physical? Probably only wanted 4 pills too. Lol. Vets are not CVS order via pet meds and overnight it if it’s that needed.We also use Hanna for grooming their. She takes both pups at the same time and they come back clean and beautiful. I won’t argue as I can even get them in a stock tank when it’s 90 out...🤣. 🍻

They’re the best!! We take my cat Ali there, she’s a rescue who was born with a neurological disorder. Every time I call (even a year or two in between) they remember her by name! Dr. Baer is wonderful and so is the staff! Ashley always goes above and beyond to help us. I can’t reccomend them enough!

Our Chesapeake bay retriever ate part of a bed sheet, Dr Baer was on his way home at 10 PM turned around & went back to his office to take care of our Mack. Do not, for any reason, use this vet practice. They are a crooks. My family had 3 separate vet plans through them and never missed a payment. We had a complaint about one of the newer vets with the way he was handling 2 4 week old puppies and unsterile practices with medication being given to eat puppy. When we brought this to one of the owners, which is the wife, name is Terrie, she did nothing but escalate the situation. Never tried to rectify the issue. The way the company dealt with this complaint was waiting for our money to no longer be refundable and then canceling all 3 of our Vet Plans and sending us a letter VIA mail telling us to never use their practices for any of our pets. DO NOT GO TO THEM! They will kick you to the curb at the first sight of a problem so they don't get in trouble. You've been warned.

Was going to take my dog here for grooming, thank god I didn’t. My friend called me hysterical after witnessing the groomer, Luke, hit a poodle in the face yell at it and drag it by the collar. Absolutely disgusting, and my friend will be reporting this and this worker. Will never come here

Overall I really like this place for pet supplies and the girls who work the register are really nice, but I called to get info about their vet's office and the vet staff were kind of rude. Found out a friend of mine brings her dogs there and also had issues with the girls at the vet desk even though she really likes her vet.

We go here for pet supplies and use Dr. Baer at Caring Hearts Animal hospital. The service is tip rate and professional. The Pet Care plans help us manage the cost of care for our furry friends and our two dogs get excellent care from nutrition advice to veterinary care including a surgery and teeth cleaning and emergency care. They provide us peace of mind knowing our pets are getting the best care and nutrition possible, my wife and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Thank you Dr. Baer and the staff at Baer' s Pet Depot and Caring Hearts Animal Haospital! I highly recommend them to everyone with a pet.

Trying to support small business, did not have our dog food on the shelf but did have it in a small stack that they received and would not sell it because the lady said she was not done checking it in. There were no other customers in the store she was to busy talking to the girl at the vet desk. I guess my business is not needed. I will never support them again, I will go to someone who values customers and wants to keep their business. Shame on you for treating customers that way. Count my business gone.

They saved my Yorkie and healed my Boston Terrier. Perhaps you should get your doggie treats and such at Job Lot. The rest of us are happy that this place opened and continues to do well.

Water & reading bowls ! , cat litter ! Only healthy good for Cats & Dogs ! They sell the best for your beloved " fur babies to live a long healthy life ! Beyond there years ! Toys ! For cats & Dogs ! , beds , leashes, collars , cat liter !! ( all natural ! ) the best on the market not to harm the cat later involving charcoal perfumed basis products that catch you basically to purchase to buy to downgrade smell ! But would rather sell safe products for kitty litter that are all natural for them 2 live off there paws & not catching up with them later like a " fireman " !! Competing against heslth issues with fire ! & charcoal ruining there lungs later in life causing kidney & liver problems leading to death because of chemicals in regular outdoor treated charcoal( cancer ? ) products to mask the smell of the animal ! Instead caring about a 100 % healthy alternative for 100 % healthy food & litter care for your cat to extend there lives ! Also the store has so much more !.... a regular grooming services ! U can purchase other pets ! Like birds , guinea pigs , fish , sometimes ferits!! & the veternarians ! The BEAUERS ! themselves ! An excellent, extremely talented vet team ! Also there vet techs that show u they extremely care ❤ for your pet simple procedures like having your pets dental care cleaning are a big deal to Terri & Michael Bauer !
