My dtr and i stayed in October. The Inn was decorated with some beautiful antiques which is what drew our attention and why we booked. We had thought it had lots of charm and we could enjoy some time reading in the library area or having coffee on the patio. However when we arrived the feel of the environment was not as inviting. We felt uncomfortable spending time in the inn other than being in our room. Not a lot of modern amenities available so make sure that is not one of your wants during your stay. Nice location to downtown and local attractions. Power went out twice in our room and had to be shown circuit breakers so I could reset on my own when it went out again. Looked like some guests were enjoying their stay unfortunately, my dtr and I enjoyed more of the Berkshires and not so much the inn. Pricey stay compared to other lodgings. No fridge, no coffee or water available through the day or if there was we were not given the tour or information about it. May be a good stay for some but not a place for everyone.

If you're going to a show a Tanglewood, this is a great place to stay!Breakfast on the verandah and chatting with the owner was sublime AND we didn't have to start our day looking for coffee and breakfast!Lenox MA is nice too. Lots of interesting places to shop, eat, and explore.

Lisa, Joan and Richard were extremely hospitable and friendly. Lisa made breakfast to order which was delicious! Joan told us about the history of the house, and Richard offered some awesome hiking recommendations. My friends and I have been to a number of Berkshires B&b’s and this was by far the best experience so far!

We absolutely loved Whistler's Inn. Our room was clean, the grounds were kept beautifully, breakfast was plentiful and in their very charming dining room. It was quiet so we were able to relax; we wanted to explore the house more that night when we returned from our night out but it was so quiet we were afraid of waking other guests so we stayed in our room. But the owners were so lovely and sweet and made our stay very homey and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that loves historic, classic, and charming B&Bs.

We've been coming to the Berkshires for many years and can honestly say that Whistler's Inn is one of the nicest places we have stayed in!This beautiful, elegant country bed and breakfast is a wonderful place to spend a long weekend, a week or more. Step back in time as you enter into a place that is beautifully appointed with incredible antiques and décor.Feast on a sumptuous, gourmet breakfast that is delicious and plentiful. In addition to the daily quiche/egg dishes, fresh fruit, granola and yogurt are a staple along with homemade muffins or cake, bagels and assorted breads, juice, assorted teas and coffee.Your hosts Lisa, Joan and Richard are warm, friendly and available to share the history of their beautiful family home, recommend local attractions and restaurants or spend time chatting with you.Their attention to detail and service is excellent! We had such a lovely weekend there and plan to return in the near future. We recommend that you try it yourself and you'll see!Joan Stenzler and Gary Steiner

Had a FUN Fall Weekend with Friends @ Whistler's Inn in the Berkshires. Hosts Richard, Joan & Lisa Warmly Welcomed us into their Historic 1870 Mansion. It boasts 12 ft. high ceilings, a Parlor w/Sherry filled Decanter that was enjoyed, as we Relaxed & chatted after Dinner. Another Fancy Parlor boasts a Baby Grand piano, a beautiful Austrian Crystal Chandelier & a Massive Golden Cherub framed Mirror. Books, Art & Photos added to the warmth in each Room.We were Lucky to stay in Mr. Whistler's Room, the Master Suite that overlooks the Entrance to the house. I enjoyed the sounds of the gurgling fountain that was just outside our front Window. The Grounds are beautiful & have lots of spots to Relax & Enjoy Nature. Plus, it's located just walking distance to the quaint shops of Lenox. Think Anyone who visits the Berkshires would Enjoy the Hospitality of Our Hosts at Whistler's Inn. I know we All Did!

had a much better experience here than other reviewers seem to have had. Yes, it's a little quirky. Yes, a family runs it, so you won't get the kind of service you would expect at a hotel with a large staff. But it's a beautiful inn with lovely grounds and very nice owners.Check-in:Similar to a previous reviewer, we arrived at night and there wasn't anyone in the lobby to immediately receive us. After a minute the owner's daughter came in and asked what room we had reserved, which was the Africa room. Apparently the second bed hadn't been made up (though we said we had 4 people on the reservation), but we were invited to sit in the beautiful living room with free glasses of port while the bed was prepared.Room:The Africa room is in the detached carriage house. It has a lot of interesting decorations from Africa. Some are weirder than others (the bathroom door locks with a large iron hook), but overall, a great room. Air conditioner and fans kept it comfortable, beds were comfy, plenty of lights and outlets.Breakfast:Continental breakfast with a nice selection. Spanish omelette and fruit tart seemed homemade, mini muffins did not. Fresh watermelon, cold cereal, and toast and bagels. We were also offered the option of made-to-order French toast and/or eggs. Coffee and tea were on the sideboard. The owners came out and chatted with us for a while. Didn't feel rushed or anything; it felt like having breakfast at a friend's (very nice old manor) home.In short, I think this place has gotten a bad rap from people who are expecting something other than it is. It's got a homey feel to it, and I would definitely stay there for more than one night. The price was a little high, but that's Lenox in the summer for you.

Richard, Joan and Lisa have run the extra mile to accomodate me and make me feel part of the family. I'm grateful for the warm welcoming and the conversations we had learning from each other. The Inn is unique for its charm and the location is awesome.

I'd give it mixed reviews. It needs a deep cleaning and central air and some updates. It's a charming old house - lots of nooks and crannies. Some rooms have fireplaces and sitting areas. We just went exploring empty rooms. Fun!The family that lives and runs it are wonderful. Full of interesting conversation. Artsy. Literary. Involved in the local music scene. The guests are mostly chatty. And it seems like they're all into yoga and eating healthy. And like most B&Bs people are warm and friendly. The owners told us they often have impromptu music gatherings. Lots of visiting musicians stay here. There are two pianos - one is a baby grand - and lots of music.Earlier today we met a young woman who's studying to be a yoga instructor at Kripalu yoga center nearby. She said she'd be happy to do a yoga class for everyone. That part of it is amazing!Breakfast is a buffet of cold foods, and they'll make French toast or eggs or whatever to order. I had scrambled eggs. All kinds of baked goods. Fresh fruit. Yea. Coffee. Quiche. Yogurt. Not enough outlets. Only window AC in bedrooms. We really struggled to connect our devices. But there's a roku and we're able to get every streaming channel we get in Florida using our own id.At first I thought I don't know if I'd put up with the inconveniences again. But it's so charming and it feels like a home. Like we're all vacationing and exploring together. I LOVE that!

We booked online and had our gauranteed reservation taken away at the last minute. This place clearly cannot handle technology. Call to book a room, if you must, but this experience speaks poorly of their ability to serve their customers.
