Russell Orchards is an awesome farm that I love visiting. They have a shop with so many great things inside. You can buy lots of apples and produce inside, there is a really good bakery, an ice cream stand, and a room filled with lots of wine. I love their apple cider donuts - they are absolutely delicious and they are not covered in cinnamon sugar but they don't need to be. Their mulled cider too is some of the best I've had.If you walk past the store, there is a very pretty pond with lots of ducks. Their chicken coop and barn is just next to the pond too where you can see the animals. There are several dozen chickens, 2 pigs, some donkeys and goats, a sheep, and some horses. Everything is maintained very well and the animals seems to be taken very good care of.The farm also has apple picking in the fall, and lots of berry picking on other months throughout the year. In the fall they run a donut stand for when it gets extra busy when everyone wants donuts. It's a great place to visit in the fall especially.Everything about this farm is very cute and is also decorated very well. There are also electric vehicle charging stations.

Not just for apples! Recommend strawberry picking! Not only Crane beach is right there, you can enjoy strawberry picking and ice cream. The store also has local produce and sweet treats. A great day trip or afternoon!

One of the best places to have cider donuts in Massachusetts. The farm store sells lots of other stuff too. From fresh produce to wine. And pick your own seasonal fruits too. The blueberries may seem tiny. But they are sweet. The apple picking season starts next weekend. And they will have hot cider at that time. There is a wide variety of fruit wine available to purchase.

This is such a great place to bring the family and people visiting from out of town. It is a wonderful New England experience with lots to see for adults and kids. They offer and a well kept, rustic style store with locally made items, products from the farm, soft goods and yummy homemade treats. The Russell Orchards team is friendly and helpful. A culture passed down from family ownership who is very sustainably conscious. They continue to adopt and roll out solar technology and recently added 48 amp, level 2, dual port charging stations to the parking lot for those who would like to top off electric cars. Simply a great place to visit for a lot of reasons.

Love the animals, the cider and as always, a beautifully picturesque landscape with authentic photo-opps. We passed on the donuts bc the line was impossible, but we'll try again!

Fun place to visit for the traditional New England Fall activities. Apple picking, pumpkin buying, cider and wine as well as icecream and apple cider donuts. What's not to love when you put it in a beautiful setting and add in a barnyard of animals?Well worth a trip if you are out that way.

It was a beautiful experience at Russell Orchards. This place is a great family friendly environment. Nice pumpkin patch, pumpkins are priced by weight. The apple picking experience was good. Had a good walking distance to begin the apple picking (wear comfortable shoes and clothing). Wine tasting currently unavailable but they have a good variety of wines that are produced and bottled by this orchard. The staff was informative and pleasant. Try the warm apple crisp with vanilla icecream, it's delicious! šŸ˜‹

A friend of mine told me that she heard about this place and I had to try it. To me this is one of the best places in Massachusetts to get warm apple cider donuts. You can see them making the donuts. Nice place to bring the family. They have all different kinds of apples. And a huge selection of pumpkins. There is a country store that sells lots of speciality items. Lots of parking. Clean outdoor toilets.

Driving to the beach we stumbled upon Russell Orchards. Best hidden gem to explore on a pretty fall, spring and summer day. We enjoyed interacting with the all the cute animals. The wine tasting hostess was an absolute doll. She was informative and friendly. The hardest thing about those days was picking just a few bottles of wine. Can't wait to visit this summer. Guaranteed great time!

Cider donuts were very very very disappointing. There were cold, soaggy and pretty tasteless. The frozen cider pop however was very refreshing especially in the summer heat!

What a gem! Beautiful, clean, well-managed orchard with top quality fruit available for picking. And we had a golf cart escort since raspberries are a good walk from the blueberries. The farmstand is lovely! Cider donuts, local ice cream, honey, maple syrup, local produce....basically anything you could want plus a wine and gift section. Great local farm!

It's an apple picking place with bad wine. Actually, it's not wine at all, but spiked fruit juice and a cider. $26 for 4 small samples. Bathrooms are porta-potties that were pretty nasty when we went. It is mostly a country store, with prices at the high end.

We made the day trip out here from Salem and had a blast. We got to walk the beautiful orchards and pick a few apples to take home! They also had a great selection of baked good. We had the apple cider donuts and tartlet which is not featured because we ate it so fast. We took home some cider as well. For the non drinkers they had mulled cider and the best kombucha ever. We got lavender jasmine.

Large farm with lots of fresh baked goods, produce, and pick your own adventures at different times of the year. Everyone working here is friendly and helpful. The apple picking was varied and open. It was a great trip out to see the orchards and also the animals on the farm.

The road to farm is so picturesque. You can see a lot of fields with the horses and beautiful pines and fur trees. The farm has a big variety of berry bushes and fruit trees. At the moment it is a strawberry picking season. There are several areas with it. For every adult we have to pay $4 ticket, the kids under 6 enter for free. Later, this amount will be subtracted from the total amount of picked strawberries. Also on the farm you can see some ducks, geese, horses, a pig, donkeys and chickens. There is a local farm shop and winery with a variety of fruit wines. As usual, all the farm production is extremely expensive. The parking is big. The restrooms are near the parking and in the field. These are bio toilets.Overall it is a nice farm, but you have to dress accordingly, because there are so many mosquitos.

What did they do? The cider donuts used to be to die for; now? They are simply deflated, tasteless sponges filled with grease. What a disappointment this once must do in Ipswich has become… dirty, scattered and run down. It’s definitely lost any appeal. Sad day in Apple Cider donut land… the thrill is gone. Not worth the drive…

This was my first time strawberry picking, but Russell Orchards had more than just strawberries. There were also currants, raspberries, and a few other fruits. I went during the first week of July, and the strawberry patches were quite sparse (half of the field wasn't ready). There were a lot of small and moldy ones but also a few large ones. Regardless, this was just meant to be a fun group activity with friends. You get a tray at the entrance, but there are also trays spread throughout the field if you need more. You pay by the pound when you leave. The workers at the booths are friendly. Remember to bring bug spray and sunscreen!I also tried the apple cider doughnut, which was just okay.

Russell Orchards (which I will always think of as Goodale, for better or worse) is an annual tradition for us - at LEAST once every season! The very best cider donuts and cider, great PYO apples, baked goods to die for, and just a great experience: wandering through the barn and the farm, wine tasting, meeting the animals, sometimes there's live music playing... you just can't beat it!

A lovely farm with fruit orchards . Great winery. Delicious baked goods with awesome apple cider donuts. I was disappointed to learn that it cost $5 to walk in the PYO orchards. But the other shorter side is free of charge.

We had a wonderful visit today. So many strawberries to pick! They’re taking the COVID-19 precautions very seriously- Handwashing stations set up, good signage, separators where are you pay, etc. Loved all the locally produced products for sale in the shop and the easy free parking. Looking forward to our next visit!

I’ve been visiting this place for over 25 years with each of my 4 children and have many fond memories. Unfortunately it’s become a tourist trap with greedy money grabbers managing the place . $5.49 for a thimbleful of sickly sweet apple cider . A bag to collect apples is now $25 even after a bumper season and now they charge you even if you’re picking apples to take the hayride at $3 per person …we turned around . I won’t be going back sadly …

Family owned farm and a wonderful place to bring your family...It offers apple picking with a hay ride, a store that you can buy jams and flavored wine.... The also have their winery with different flavors.....apple cider donuts...and ducks that love to eat apples. The staff was all pleasant and happy to serve their guests or customers....A+

Really good selection of farm produce plus donuts šŸ© plus ice cream. Good parking a few animals. Really great place to stop and better than spending $20 on beach parking!

Great place to go in the fall if you want to stand in line for 30 minutes to buy donuts. They used to sell bags of 6 to take home in the main store but apparently they don’t always do that now. Ok I guess, but makes it impossible to swing by and grab donuts and pastries on the weekend in a timely manner.Otherwise it’s expensive, which is fine for this sort of place in the fall but they could afford to do a little upkeep and make the place look maintained especially when it comes to the weeds and random broken down things behind every other fence. The main store is beautiful, the donuts are good when you can get them. Still a decent fall activity and a chance for a few nice pictures of the kids.
