I am new to Hull. I have been to this store multiple times. Will not be back. Had an odd experience tonight (Halloween) with an older female who is a short employee. Another employee rang me up on their line. But, the credit card machine wasn't working. So, some angry employee who seemed mad at the world walked me to line 1 (customer service area) and rang me up again. I could have sworn that my credit card went through the 1st time, so I questioned it. Then, the angry, short mean lady was rude to me. I believe she called me a assh... and told me to be kind. 1st, I have a speech impairment and a disability (blind in my right eye). She was angry and rude for some odd reason. Maybe she wanted to go trick n treating for candy? Or maybe she realized that she is a rude lady who doesn't care about the store that she works in?I will never go in here again. I have heard from others bad things from my neighbors about this store. My goal now is to tell all of my family, friends, and coworkers how rude this store is to its customers. And PLEASE go elsewhere.

I am only regretfully posting this review publicly because I found no contact information online and your employee refused to give me any manager’s information. I am a frequent shopper at Village Market, shopping there almost once a day. I find that almost all of your employees are incredibly helpful with a terrific attitude, I feel welcomed and often encourage others to shop their when visiting Hull. I regret to inform you one of your employees is the complete antithesis of these values I’ve come to expect from your store. She is not only the rudest and most hostile employee in your store, but the most rude and hostile person I have ever encountered in the town of Hull. It seems as if she actively seeks out conflict, spewing vile hostility at any unfortunate customer that crosses her path. The other employee working this night informed me that they too have felt the brunt of this hateful rhetoric/attitude. I do not understand why this employee seems to have targeted me, as I treat all employees with the utmost respect, telling them thank you sir/ma’am with a smile on my face. I recently left the United States Army after serving active duty, I am instilled with the values to treat every employee I encounter with respect and gratitude. I only mention this because I am sure your employee will try to twist her story with wretched lies no doubt. She brings disgrace, dishonor, and great shame upon your proud and reputable brand. I returned home to inform my family about this puzzling behavior, only to discover she has harassed and belittled my aunt on numerous occasions, I wish I could say I was surprised by this. I would like to discuss these incidents further, to help you protect your brand and customers from this poor excuse of an employee. Said employee informed me she was the manager when I politely asked to speak with one, so I would like to speak with the general manager if this is true. Thank you for taking the time to read this review, and I hope we can move forward amicably and your employees detestable conduct can be curtailed before it harms your store’s reputation irrevocably.

A good local option for grabbing groceries in Hull. They have a selection of most items you would need, and the prices are a little high but overall very fair given it’s the only place you can go without a long round trip. Staff is friendly, and the lines move quickly. We’re fortunate to have this close by, and it’s very convenient.

Super friendly and accommodating. We ran out of powdered sugar at 6pm Christmas Eve and needed it to frost the cookies.. called ahead and they had a bag up front for us even though they closed in less than an hour! Amazing customer service and deserving of all your business! Shop here!!!

Edit: We were issued a full refund and a very apologetic (different) manager informed us that there was a mix up and we should have received a refund all along. We are so happy that this was just an error and our faith is restored in Village Market. We bought a $40 Christmas tree with an attached stand that we realized was broken when we tried to stand it up at home. We brought it back immediately with the receipt and the manager refused to take the broken tree back and refund us. We would have taken another tree but this was the last one. The manager told us because it wasn't food they wouldn't take it back. So they sold us a broken tree that is useless. Terrible customer service. Be careful buying non food items there if they're damaged you eat the cost. We will never step foot in this store again.

Great selection of products in a quaint local setting. This place still retains a lot of the charm that many modern stores lack.

Stay away from the prepared food. It used to be good but has gone WAY downhill in the last couple years in flavor and quality. I just found hair in my meal. Never again.

Great staff! Friendly and engaging. The management is gradually adapting to requests and getting a better selection of higher quality foods. I look forward to there being a whole aisle dedicated to healthy choices soon... perhaps, instead of alcohol.

Nice small town store. Good selection of groceries, deli, meat, small produce section, dairy and small area of fresh baked breads/rolls. Convenient for the locals but a little more expensive then the bigger food stores. The meats in their meat department are usually priced well especially if purchased while on sale. Meat can be cut to order if needed for special occasions or holiday meals and are of a good quality. Most of the employees are nice and very helpful.

The only complaint I have is this:On Monday, October 15 I went to the market to buy onions which were advertised in the flyer to be on sale this week. Well, the place they should have been was empty, so I asked one of the men who were nearby if they had any. He was very helpful, went to find out, came back and said they were expecting a delivery momentarily. Well, I thanked him and went on to continue shopping. I decided to come back on Tuesday, October 16, which I did and found the onions. I went on to the Deli section to buy some Land o Lakes 4 cheese Italian cheese. The young man behind the counter was very attentive and looked everywhere (back room, front case, etc) but could not find any. He told me they didn't have any. These items were both in the weekly flyer, and should be available, especially by Tuesday when the advertised items should have been available as advertised.Love this market and go there at least 2 times a week, but I am losing interest if I cannot find items I need. I know a small market cannot be expected to stock everything, but at least they should have their advertised items. Please pay attention, customers depend on it.Thank you,Joanne HaradenHull, MA

Clean environment. Exceptionally friendly staff. Good quality meats and veggies. Only 4 stars due to high prices and occasional sale prices not recognized while scanning at the register. Check your receipts!

Pretty great selection of stuff. Little pricey, but it's close and a local spot rather than a big chain. Definitely coming back here or all the groceries I need for vacation.

If it wasn't for this place I would not been able to see I went to five stores and not one place had reading glasses anywhere. Also the prices were very affordable especially considering that Tedeschi's is a tourist trap with their prices way jacked up than any other Tedeschi's around in the area. I even bought some cleaning supplies and a few other items because it saved me from having to go all the way to Walmart because it's a pretty long walk for me.

I went to the Village Market in Hull today, usually my husband goes and picks up a few things there. It was so dirty, inside and out...debris strewn all around the front entrance and on the sidewalk side of the building. Inside the floors were littered as well. The entrance and exit doors were full of hand prints. The store was a complete turn off and an awful representation of our beautiful Hull.

I am very grateful for the Village Market. For me it means being able to walk to a supermarket with a basic selection of the food I love—organic fruit, vegetables, eggs, cheese, yoghurt, fish, olive oil, tomato sauce, bread and more. The people are super helpful. Thank You!

I think it's great they have most anything that I go for. I remember when Riddles closed it was pretty inconvient for meats, produce, and groceries .You had to go a few miles to shop.

I ordered a half a pound of Boar's Head Pepperoni, which the Racist Deli Staff purposely left the plastic wrapper on while slicing it so thin you couldn't tell that there was still plastic on each slice of pepperoni. We sailed in from out of state and I was a minority which I observed was not well liked in this area.

Under new ownership, it’s a nice store with a mix of organic and generic. They’ve done a nice job picking up where the other owners droppedThe ball. Very friendly staff, I always see someone I know. Small town feel

Clay is friendly, and many of the other souls here. Store is like stepping back in time to the 70's store is much larger than expected, better selection in foods than local Wal-Mart

Considering it's a local supermarket that can be more expensive than the chains, employees are great and it's nice to support local businesses if you need in-between items!

Well stocked local store. Lots of snacks, beer and wine; obviously caters to the tourist destination of Hull. They carry two brands of 8-12 cup coffee filters, but do not stock the 2-6 cup basket size.

Nice little local grocery store- my wife and I are new in town and they realized they didn't recognize me, asked a bit, and told me that in a community this size, they try to know everyone, and that they hoped I enjoyed it- a nice change of pace from spots like Whole Foods and Walmart Supercenter.

It is so great to have The Village Market open, with well stocked shelves, fresh produce, their butcher department and a good selection of fresh fish! Whoo-hoo! They hope to have their credit card service working by Dec 20th (2017) and maybe their liquor license by Dec 31st - call ahead to make sure. The store has that Hull welcome atmosphere, including smiling faces at the cash register, like Angela's. Stop by and make the Market know Hull's glad to have them!

Nice selection of inventory, but, as the only full sized grocery store in town, it has monopoly pricing. Trader Joe's, Food Club and Star Market are worth the drive.

Ed in the deli is awesome! Great guy, super nice, and faster than Juan Fangio in the Formula One. Try the meatballs, too. Village Market is a great local market.
