My family had rescued 2 YGRR goldens growing up, they were the absolute best dogs so it was a no brainer for my now husband and I when we decided we were ready for a dog of our own. They invite you to come meet the pup with no pressure to adopt if you don’t feel you are a good match. We went for our visit after expressing interest in one of the ones we saw on the website and adopted our boy and brought him home that day. We can honestly say it is the best decision we ever made, our golden boy is the light of our lives! Thank you Yankee for all you do!

Let me start off by saying they have a lovely facility, however their process for adoption is highly inefficient and there is a huge lack of communication. It is really too bad because my family and I would have been a loving home for one of the pups!

It's great to see dogs in a shelter that aren't depressed in a small cage with no contact. Everyone there works hard to socialize and train these dogs

Such cute dogs there. Im in love with all of them. They all are really good pups and it's sad when i have to leave them there as I already have a dog of my own. I hope someone will make a lovely adoption as all of them look sad and wanting a home and someone to love.

I filled out an application, because I reviewed their requirements in which I was very qualified. I know I filled it out completely and got an automated message saying thank you for your interest in adopting a dog blah blah blah. Very inefficient with responding, in fact no response came from them at all. I tried calling them, waste of time... no response either just a bunch of automated messages.

We rescued our pup from YGRR just about a month ago. Their kennel manager is AMAZING! She is so knowledgeable and made the whole process and experience super easy and stress free! I would definitely recommend YGRR!

We adopted our furry friend there. YGRR is a wonderful place. They took excellent care of our boy. They made sure we were the right match for him because they talked to us for a long period, asking us questions and understanding what kind of dog parents we would be. I would highly recommend anyone interested in adopting a dog to contact tgem.

Highly inefficient processing/organization of applications and use of ill-advised methods on home visits (role of the visiting dog & dog/dog introductions, most notably). No response to follow-up queries or ownership for gaps in publicly available information.

Don't get me wrong the dogs here are amazing and deserve good homes or foster homes! But the current management does not put the dogs first. 4-5 staff have left in the past few months and they are the ones that care about these dogs. The new co-kennel manager has been written up for abusing dogs. Changes need to be made and the board does not listen.

Renamed from Stephanie to Nellie... we have been together 2 weeks now. She is calm and sweet as can be. I could not be happier... and I think Nellie feels the same. One thing I failed to know or ask was about being spayed. She is not . I had checked her tummy area and thought .. looked like that was done.. I would have taken her anyway but shelters in my area.. NBPT.. usually do neutering before adopting. Nellie clearly was used only for breeding... She is 3... will get that done after she settles in.

Beyond disappointing. My fence is 38". Minimum is 48" for a rescue. After waiting for months for a dog, finally get an interview and the fence restriction didnt allow me to adopt. I have had 2 dogs in this yard for years and not one ever was able to jump out or attempted to. I live in what I refer to as Pleasant-ville USA. My son and I have a great home, would give the dog a life beyond what any dog deserves, and after waiting for months and paying the fee, get turned down. What a freakin' joke. Thanks alot, AP

I've never been here ever, I'm sure they do an excellent job, I have no doubts.... but because I drive within a mile of the place Google maps thinks I've been here every day for 2 years..... posting this was the only way to stop Google maps from suggesting I post something about my non existent daily visit here....
