*last pic is what he looked like before*I’ve spent the last few days trying to decide whether I should write this review, I never write bad reviews. I brush and bathe Sebastian on a very regular basis, and if I ever get too busy and its been a while I take him to Pet Supplies Plus for a brush and wash. I was away last week and he was being watched by someone, so I booked an appointment here because it was the closest to where he was.I requested a simple bath and brush for $55 which on the website said included a paw pad trim, a nail trim, and a few other things. When Sebastian was brought for his appointment the woman wanted to speak to me on the phone, and explained to me that he was going to need multiple additional treatments because of how much brushing they would have to do. I’ve never had this issue anywhere else but I decided to let it go and let them do what they needed to do. I was fine with paying extra if it was going to be more work but I was beyond disappointed when I saw him.The groomer had for some reason trimmed all the fluff off his ears which I did not ask for or want, and it was done terribly. His ears are now completely uneven and choppy, it looks like they literally just cut a chunk out of the side of his head. I am 100% certain he didnt have mats or tangles there, which infuriates me because it means the groomer did this simply for cosmetic purposes and what she thought looked good. My dog looks 10x worse now than he did before, and they didnt even touch his paw pads or nails. So not only did they cut his hair which I did not want them to, but they didnt even provide the services that I initially paid for. And I still managed to pay $100 more than advertised on the website when I booked his appointment.Beyond disappointed, down $100 and my poor boy looks like an idiot :(

The Pet Smart Hanover MA store is great and Brittany in the grooming salon is so kind to our new rescue pup. She takes such great care of him and each time he goes he is less afraid of the bath and nail trim. Highly recommend this store and Brittany!

Very large selection and the isles were well organized and clean. It was very easy to locate my pets section and explore other pet supplies as well. The cashier was very friendly and personable. It was a welcoming organized place and the prices were reasonable

I wish there was a place for NO stars. I brought my dog here after not being able to get into our regular groomer. I should have known better. We have a large breed dog so they said it would take three hours. After 3 1/2 hours and no phone call I decided to just show up. They said she was very matted and not in good shape" This was a surprise to me. Just the day before she had been to the vet and they didnt say anything. I told them the dog was fine. She asked if we ever brushed our dog - which we do. I was insulted, but none the less I left. Almost two hours later we got a call that they couldnt not finish the haircut because our dog is violent. Now, she had been there for five hours. Our dog has been to other groomers and we have NEVER had any issues.Not only are the people who work here beyond capable but they were downright rude.We will never go back there. Zero stars. read your reviews before trying new places.

Heather groomed my dog today and I couldn't be happier. My German Shepherd came in for a bath and brush with some accessories. Dropoff was easy, and when I picked her up she was happy, smelled amazing, and was perfectly clean! I normally groom my dog at home, but I will be coming back to Petsmart Hanover specifically so Heather can groom my dog.I was especially impressed with how perfectly her nails were trimmed. My dog has a lot of "tuft" on the back of her legs. When I dropped her off I was afraid it was getting matted, but her bum fur is now fluffy and clean. She also got a dapper bandana!This is a great location, and the store was very clean. Even the staff on the registers were great: I was welcomed immediately when I came into the store and the transaction was fast and curteous.Myself, and my GSD Delta are very grateful of the awesome service we received today!

Should not be PetSmart but rather PetDumb.Their groomers are arrogant, and do not listen to instructions. How many more dog owners have to complain that they do not want their dogs shaved. Period. You can’t be that stupid.

Brought my dog for a bath few days later saw him chewing on his hind end. It was raw and red, brought him to the vet. They stated it was hot spots from not being dried properly. So not only did my poor dog suffer with medication, being uncomfortable and a cone on his head but my wallet for $300 did too.

I went in to get a harness for my puppy she outgrown the one I got her a month ago. Same size (small) different manufacturer Top Paw. This new one is so much easier to get it on. Even my wife can get this one on and off. Love the metal clips instead of plastic ones. Highly recommend this harness and brand, very well made

My family and I LOVE the Hanover PetSmart! We go there for all of our animals and we have a lot! Dogs, cats, fish and reptiles. It’s always clean and the animals are always well taken care of! My favorite part is that they offer field trips for kids to learn about the different animals or even Girl/Boys scout groups to earn a badge. They truly go above and beyond for their costumers.

I placed 2 online/store pick up orders at the Hanover, MA location. I arrived and was greeted very kindly by an associate. Both associates I interacted with were not only helpful, but kind and friendly. It was obvious that they acted genuinely and not because of requirements set for employees. I highly recommend visiting Pet Smart stores, but specifically the Hanover, MA location.Thank you.

i witnessed a very upsetting event occur at petsmart today.while heading inside to look around at potential purchases for a tank im hoping to set up, the rudest worker spoke at a teenager (with her family) in a horrible way. when she was testing out a fog machine in an EMPTY tank with NO ANIMALS, the young woman ran from her register to say “please do not touch.” there was no sign, so i assumed that the teenager figured it was okay. not only did she leave her register to say stop, she left a customer waiting and watching the girl and her family. the worker had no name tag, however she had black hair and glasses. we’ve had great experiences here and this woman has ruined it for us. at the end, however, our cashier had given us a pleasent expierence and kind manner towards my family and i.

Groomers do a wonderful job and are flexible to our needs. My dog Jack loved his groomer and he typically despises the vet and groomer. He doesn’t like getting nails done or the blow dryer tho. But groomers try their best to get the job done! If your pet is nervous or high maintenance like mine, try bringing into the store a few times to get acclimated & buy them a treat or toy. They may be able to accommodate you by reserving a time when they aren’t too busy. Oh I should also mention that the store staff are very helpful too especially when your dog takes a dump in the middle of the store. Great customer service!

One of the girls there tested my water for my fish tank. She was super kind and im the crazy type of pet parent, plus I have no clue what I’m doing with fish. She was very patient with me and has cool green hair. Wish i remembered her name >:(Im giving 4 stars because I called pet smart and talked to steve. I had questions because I gave my fish new tank syndrome and would like to remedy this for her. He was condescending and impatient. I can’t imagine how he must treat other hardworking employees.

Grooming Review: I have been taking my catahoula/beagle mix pup to Meghan at the grooming area for about 6 months. She is wonderful. Despite his completely lack of desire to be there and his clear anxiety, she always tries to shower him with positivity. He always comes out looking great.

I can’t say enough about Danielle and Brittany and the rest of the team in the grooming department at this Hanover location. For the last four years, every 4 to 6 weeks, I bring my little cockapoo in for his full-service grooming and every time, it’s perfection! They are friendly and accommodating and most of all Max loves them! He runs inside the store and they always make me feel at ease knowing he’s in great hands.UPDATE All of the regular groomers that have been here for years are no longer at this location and unfortunately the new team - Maura and Kate - doesn’t have the same care and consideration and if you can get an appointment they treat you as tho it’s just a transaction, not somewhere to feel comfortable leaving your petGO ELSEWHERE!

Very clean, had plenty of different varieties of animals to take home as a new pet. All looked and appeared to be healthy!- Even had 3 cats who were recent rescues from Puerto Rico all looking for permanent new homes! The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. As well as the other patrons in the store. It's hard to keep a store like this clean. But this store was definitely noticeably very clean& certainly up to my standards anyways! 👍

Love this store. We go out of our way to go here because they always have everything we need. My daughter has an axolotyl (however you spell it) and this store always has frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp. No other store keeps them stocked! They have a variety of toys for dogs as well. The staff has always been nice and friendly. Easy parking.

Although staff was friendly and place is clean, I will NEVER bring my dog there again. Our regular groomer was fully booked and we really needed a bath and trim on our cockapoo, so decided to book PetSmart. Seriously regretting my decision as the groomer cut my dogs tail so badly he might actually need to have part of it amputated according to the vet. He is a 15lb not even an ounce aggressive dog . The vet told me that whatever they were doing for “trimming” his tail was done completely improperly. He was cut almost completely around the entire tail down to the bone. I am actually most disturbed by the fact that I was not contacted by anyone from PetSmart since! And it’s been 2 weeks. My dog still in a cone, we go for follow up this week to see if he can keep his tail. Absolutely SHAMEFUL. Do not bring your pets here!!!
