Here are some photos that I took inside the store before it closes for good. I remember when we bought our fish tank at this place about a decade ago. We still have it. This is an awesome store filled with pet related items and I went to this place so many times. It’s gonna be so sad to see this place go, but at least the memories will never disappear. Such a great store 😢

I recently took my beloved dog to Petco for grooming, and unfortunately, it was an experience I never expected. When I picked up my dog after her appointment, I was shocked to find her paw bleeding. Distressed and concerned, I immediately contacted the store.The explanations provided by the staff were inconsistent and troubling. Initially, they claimed my dog injured herself by jumping in the cage, which seemed improbable given her behavior. Later, they suggested her nail might have been previously injured, which wasn't the case. The staff's attempt to shift blame to a non-existent pre-existing condition was unacceptable.What added to my distress was the lack of immediate action taken by the staff to address my pet's injury. No first aid was provided, which left me questioning the level of care given during grooming sessions.Despite assurances that a manager would follow up the next day, I received no contact whatsoever. The disregard for my concerns and the lack of accountability in this situation was disheartening.As a longtime Petco customer, this incident has shattered my trust in their grooming services. I hope this review serves as a reminder for them to prioritize the safety and well-being of pets in their care. Immediate action, accountability, and a genuine resolution are essential in such situations, and unfortunately, these were lacking.

Not a happy experience. Poor animal care all around. 10-12 hermit crabs were jammed into a tiny tank, no spare shells, dead crabs everywhere, cracked shells on the crabs, mold all around the tank, dirty water dishes, and low humidity and temperate. Heartbreaking conditions.

We definitely should have an option for a ZERO star review. I'm beyond furious right now. If you have a cat, don't even try to get a nail trim there. The new "cat groomer" can't handle unknown cats. Seriously? She shouldn't be in the business in the first place, period.Then, I reached out to the manager, and she won't do a thing about it. Hiring those two people was a big mistake. PETCO is letting the customers down... not fair to our cats.

I received a merchandise credit card for returned merchandise. When the stored informed me that I could not order my pet food using the card and could only use the card for in-store merchandise currently in stock I was very unhappy.

Hanover Petco is great! They have excellent staff. They're all full grown adults who seem educated anf behave professionally. Also super friendly and helpful. Their actual inventory is much more robust than that *other* pet store, which almost never has what I need. I am often in need of obscure supplies for more exotic animals and wildlife and I usually find it at Petco.

Good fish buying experience. They had better prices and better looking fish than the pet smart down the street. (I bought fish from them both about 7 days apart) so far all of the fish I bought from petco have survived. I cannot say the same for pet smart. The employees were also friendlier at Petco in my experience.

Very convenient and close to my house, so I can get things I need immediately. Slightly higher priced than on-line, but I understand the need to pay for the convenience. My dog also loves to shop there - so that is an added bonus! A fun little outing for us :)

Great grooming service! The technicians definitely known their stuff and always make my nervous dog feel at ease. They are very accommodating to my schedule. I recommend considering the Vital Care program if you consistently use full grooming services.

Signed up for a private training course for $200. Supposed to be four 1 hour lessons. The trainer was nice and great with my dog but my dog really do don’t learn anything. Then they had to postpone her last class for 2 weeks, no problem. Well the last class they booked someone else in our already taken slot, didn’t inform me and gave the class to the other dog. No apology, no scheduling for another day, no partial refund, nothing. They should have rescheduled the other dog since I’ve had the appointment for weeks.very unprofessional and my dog really didn’t learn much, plus she didn’t get her fourth class. Don’t bother with this place for training.

Brought my dog for a nail trim on Saturday. Informed the groomer he has joint problem in his back hip/legs. She lifted him on to the table by his collar/neck and by pulling his back leg. It was extremely stressful for him and his had been in serious back leg pain ever since, limping significantly. I think groomers need to be trained not to injure animals!!

My husband is undergoing Chemo and his immune system is compromised. I called the Hanover store and asked them if they had my kitty litter in and if so could they bring it to the counter and I would pick it up within the hour. I ordered four. They were very helpful and understanding that my husband and I could not spend any longer than possible in a public store. Thank you to the wonderful staff.

I found one dead chameleon and one Guinea pig here before they also said to me that they didn’t know about them being dead if they always check on every animal there. The fish never looks good to buy. The reptiles are always hiding or not looking healthy to buy. The customer service sucks everyone there has a attitude , rude and disrespectful. When it comes to buying animals they want a picture of proof of housing for the animal. I don’t recommend going to this petco at all. And they also lie about the customer what he and her said when being there. So please don’t go to this pet store find somewhere else to go

An employee, whose name I didn't get, but he said that Hanover wasn't his regular store, was extremely helpful. My cat has been itching like crazy and he gave me some great info about things to try like a different food, check ingredients on current food and treats, and use Salmon oil, which we already do. But I appreciated the new info he gave me.

They stopped carrying the Friskies brand & had many cat food brands that I don't know & some that I know are not a good choice for cat health. Many very high priced, tiny portions. Most likely won't return. Did donate to Scituate shelter for cats, I, applaud their efforts on helping shelter animals wholeheartedly. We should all donate to animals in need, whatever you can, no matter how small the donation. You get a star for this program.

Ordering online was a breeze, and my item was available for pickup about 10 minutes after I ordered it ! I had to also get a few other items, and your staff helped me find them, and stayed with me and took the time to answer my questions. Keep up the excellent work ! I was shopping at the Hanover Massachusetts store.

Just had my Golden Retriever groomed at Petco Hanover. Very pleased. They did an outstanding job with the trimming of feathers and ears. Totally correct for the breed. Loved the bows on her ears. She looks beautiful. Thank you Nayla(?).Nancy & AYLA

The clerks in Petco are always helpful and friendly. Petco has great products, the most recent oneI have tried for my dog, has helped her to be able to get up, walk, and not be so stiff. I know she enjoys life more. Thank you for having Naturvet products in both the treat size, and the liquid. I had to change her to the liquid due to dental problems,and possibly a problem in her throat. I am so glad you have the liquid for her, and level 3. Thanks, so much! Rosie says thanks, as well!

I have used Petco at Hanover ever since we moved to Norwell in 2016. This pick-up from outside the store is marvelous--it worked very well, all except for placing the order, which was done online at Petco.com. I don't know if the man who took my order doesn't speak English comfortably or wasn't sure of what he should be doing, but it took forever to place the order and part of the order came by delivery and the other part was the pick-up outside the store. Don't understand why the order was split, but apart from being a little confusing when I saw it separated that way, both the delivery and the pick-up worked well.

I only come here when I really need something and don't have time to wait for it to be delivered. The staff is not always knowledgeable about the animals they are caring for and selling, which is unsettling. Also, every breeder, exotic vet and veteran reptile keeper that I have known has said not to keep bearded dragons on loose sand for fear of impaction. I recently noticed that they no longer keep their baby beardies on repticarpet and they are now on loose sand. Very disappointing.

My dog was rejected grooming because of growling which is ridiculous. They are also terrible at keeping their records organized because i have taken my other dog and they claim not to have their papers for their shots even though I had brought it in earlier that month. Place should be under new management!

Kayla is fantastic with Missy, my Chorkie, who suffers from separation anxiety (what dog doesn't, I know but hers is particularly bad). She's great w her, and provides a great haircut, especially for the money.Kayla has since moved on but Rebecca does an equally excellent job with her.
