Owned by the Trustees, the shop has a good amount of higher end gourmet items like blueberry syrup, and drink kits. That’s in addition to their cheeses and other organically grown items. The large property also has hiking trails to check out

Our first visit to this vast and beautiful farm. After a hay ride we enjoyed the tasty wood fired pizza 🍕 and walk down to the farm stand...sadly it was closed at 4 pm on Sunday. We can't wait to come back for Octoberfest.🌞

Was my first time coming here and I was lucky enough to have one bottle of Maple Syurp left. Super stoked to try it and see how it tastes. Very good prices! Highly recommend

I had a delightful walk on a fall day here. Parking is modest unless you are a member of the trustees and it’s free The signage for different length walks was clearly marked. The farm store is rather small and limited in scope.

This is a beautiful, well-kept working farm, with loads to do and many paths to explore. Stonewalls abound throughout the property, making Appleton Farms the perfect backdrop for New England autumn day. This is a great spot picnic, so bring a blanket to spread out. There are very clean restrooms by the education center, a small farm store that sells local wares and plenty of parking onsite. Also it’s good to note that most of the walking paths and trails are flat, well-groomed and very accessible. If you’re looking for an easy ramble or an outing with little ones, look no further!

Bring the kids to a working dairy farm where you can pet the animals and have fun with creative activities. It's a great place to visit, have a picnic and walk the paths and trails. The Farm store sells milk, cheese and meat from the farm, the visitors center is a museum and you will always find the staff friendly and helpful.

This property is huge! You've got trails spread over more than 600 acres. The North Shore Nordic Association does a fabulous job of grooming trails for nordic skiing. Right now it's like skiing on velvet. Great huge fields and a few woods trails are waiting to be explored.

No Farm Animals present when we wentThe trails should have been properly markedNice place to walk around thoughI feel 10$ is high price given that we did not see any farm animals

There’s not a lot to see at the farm. A few animals and an area with picnic tables. It’s a working farm so there’s areas that are not open to visitors. They do have miles of trails that you can walk.

They put on the best Haunted Trail. It was very creative. The Farm Store is precious and contains thoughtful products for clean eating.

Beautiful grounds and fun areas for kids, pretty flowers, goats and chickens. Great pizza when they are making it. I bring my daughter and niece here and both love it. We all love when they do the hayride, and the live music.

Family party for 30 people. Most had never been here. IT WAS FABULOUS!!!Things for children to do, animals to see, walking trails the adults took advantage of. Surroundings make you feel your in the countryside. And the 20 sourdough crust pizzas, Veggie, Cheese & Pepperoni were mouthwateringly delicious 😋 along with the Hard Ciders & Beers. To top it off all staff were helpful, on task, professional and friendly. So glad to have found Appleton Farms, can't wait to go back for other on site events and check out the Country Store which I didn't have a chance to get to. But I will...as we will be back next weekend.

A waste of $10. We paid an entry fee expecting there to be a lot to do and expecting a big farm store to shop around. It looks big from the outside but it is tiny and there is not a big selection. They didn’t have fresh eggs when we arrived so it was a waste. We went over to check out the farmhouse and the wood fire pizza which smelled great but it was a 40 minute wait. We left within 10 minutes of arriving. It seemed promising but felt like we were misled.

I can't speak for the trails and farm itself, but the cooking class I took here was a hot mess and a huge disappointment. The instructor was kind, but the class was so disorganized and very overcrowded for the space. The disorganization and overcrowding also led to it being pretty unsafe, with people walking around with hot pans in very tight quarters. No one knew where basics like mixing bowls, measuring cups, and spatulas were. We had to search for the ingredients we needed for each of our recipes, too. On top of that, the class was pitched as a farm to table class, but we used store bought seafood, not meat from the farm like we were supposed to, which was a big bummer. People were frantically going around trying to find what they needed, which just made it loud and stressful until we all sat down to eat. There was little to no instruction—just each couple making their own recipe on their own.As a Trustees member and for the amount the class cost, my partner and I were expecting a much more educational and enjoyable experience. We frequently go to cooking classes in the area and this was a very unexpected disappointment.

Appleton Farms in Massachusetts is a delightful destination for nature lovers and history enthusiasts. With a rich heritage dating back to the 17th century, the farm offers engaging historical insights. Visitors can explore verdant trails, observe grazing livestock, and partake in seasonal events. The on-site farm store sells delicious, locally produced goods, offering a taste of the farm's bounty. While it can get busy during peak times, the expansive grounds of Appleton Farms make it a rewarding excursion steeped in natural beauty and tradition.

The grounds are beautiful as are the barns you see. The women who gave us the 30 minute tour were very friendly and fun to talk with. I visited there with daughter, son in law and their 2 children, and what was disappointing was getting charged $10 for parking and $10 each for us. Grandson is 5 and ok with paying for him but granddaughter is not 3 yet and the charge for her was a bit much along with the parking fee

Can only speak to one part... on weekends in the summer, they have wood-fired pizza over by the farmhouse... made from farm-raised ingredients (pepperonii made there, cheese made there, sauce from tomatoes grown there, farm-grown herbs)... not expensive, really delicious, and a beautiful setting to have lunch at!

It is a waste of Land. A double decker Walmart would look so much better here. It could have a nice big parking lot so everyone can park there and feel included. I am tired of all of the wasted space in this town. We need to break ground and start using the land for what it's meant for, CAPITALISM!!!

This is such an incredible place! I have been coming here for years and I finally get to share it with my son and my wife. There are so many family events and things you can do. There is always something going on that you can attend. During holidays there are special events that are great for the kids. Also they have a great CSA food share program. Along with your food you get to pick wildflowers every week. The sunflowers are so big and beautiful. I highly recommend coming here for events or just to visit their farm store that has so many great things to eat and Appleton farm gear.

Really disappointed with the bacon! Had family over for Christmas breakfast. Opened up two packages of The premium bacon only to find that both packages were mostly fatty and unevenly distributed with meat. It was horrible and very embarrassing to serve such garbage to my family. What a waste! Not to mention that there was a lack of even bacon taste. No wonder Aldi sells it at half the price of other groceries. It is only half bacon the rest PURE FAT! Spend more get better!

Beautiful. Vast tracts of open countryside and miles of wooded trails. The farm store is simple, quaint, and chock full of tempting foods and artisan craft items.

Purchased parking ticket weeks in advance. Arrived at 9:45am. Store was closed. We were stopped from entering the barn and visiting the surrounding grounds by a young lady that said we could not be there because of the school age kids visiting. Having masks and being vaccinated did not matter to this young lady who was rude to say the least. Nothing on the website telling us that schools kids would be there, nor that we could not enter if they were. Called and left messages for the trustees. No one returned our call. It was made abundantly clear that this operation is for locals only. Avoid this tourist trap and go visit the Russell orchards or Crane Estate at Castle Hill which are not far away. Appleton farms — NOT RECOMMENDED.
