Dr. Place is absolutely wonderful. I have been taking my cats to her for years now. I've never had a vet who takes the time to listen and address concerns. I never feel rushed and she is extremely gentle and kind with my cats which I tremendously appreciate. Dr. Place also understands how expensive and quickly vet care can add up and is mindful of that when providing care. I continue to bring my pets to Dr. Place even though I moved further away. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The facility is clean and with the additional parking in the back, there is ample parking.

I had a great experience here with my cat after my previous vet dropped my cats as patients of theirs and then were no longer taking on new patients. I called and was scheduled two months later. I was happy to get an appointment and expected to have to wait even longer than that. Lucky for my cat, because the week before I was supposed to go in I noticed my cat’s claw had grown into the pad of her paw. Doctor Hrones was attentive and answered all my questions and was truly caring when it came to the happiness and wellbeing of my cat. Doctor Hrones trimmed her problem nail but didn’t want to cause my cat any more stress so we scheduled another appointment to trim the rest of her nails. The doctor sent me home with medication to give her to calm her before her next visit and her nail trim went great. Safe to say I’m glad my old vet dropped my cats as patients. I’ll gladly keep coming here!! Never had a better experience.

I reached out to this facility when I took over the care of a very matted hair Angora rabbit. The care was amazing and heartfelt for this animal and my concerns. Exceptional ethics and concern by all. Nova is doing great and looking amazing!

Everyone here is so kind! Dr Kozlowski and Dr Roy saw my budgie and quaker and were patient and knowledgeable, taking the time to let the birds adjust and didn't stress them more than necessary.I highly recommend this vet, especially if you have birds.

I didn’t catch his name but this hospital has the best vet/vet assistants I’ve ever encountered. He took his time to explain everything to me and wasn’t looking to upcharge on anything. He actually gave me tips for lowering pet care costs. This hospital truly cares about animals, go here if you can!

My newly adopted senior kitty was recently seen by Dr. Place for her wellness checkup. If I had to rate Dr. Place 1-10, 10 being the best, I would give her a 15! She answered all my questions and concerns, and was so gentle with my cat. Kudos to Dr. Place and vet assistant Deb at South Hadley Animal Hospital.

One of the only places in the area that take birds, and I even saw a turtle come in! The staff and doctors definitely love animals...they had a few minutes until their next appt and wanted to stay and interact with my adorable conure I took a pic of the Newfoundland in the waiting room...beautiful dog. Parking can be tricky if they are busy.

Dr Kozlowski and the front desk staff were super kind and helpful with the care of my son's pet Rat. The Doctor obviously was very interested in helping us find out what was going on by doing some research when he knew he was coming in and trying to figure out what was best for our little guy. We are very greatful for the care we received at the VCA South Hadley Animal Hospital today!

I got to meet these wonderful people unfortunately when I had to put down my hamster, Marshmallow . I live in west Springfield and we had a hamster for 1 1/2 years and when he got sick I struggled to get an appointment with a vet. I got to realize that there aren’t many places who takes care of these cute little pets and it was heart wrenching to watch him struggle . None of the vet places had appointments until May / June which was like 3 months of wait. But this group managed to give me an appointment to which I am extremely thankful for inspite of my hamster not being their patient .We were able to put am end to his suffering and we got to know that he had skin cancer .I am very thankful to this vet clinic for doing this for us and the staff were extremely kind to me when I had to go through this loss.Couple of weeks later I even got a sympathy card from them which was very touching and completely unexpected .Thanks again from all of us !!!

I've been taking my kids here for a few years now. My 3 pythons and my Green Cheek Conure. The staff are very gentle, personable, caring and there prices are reasonable. The wait times for an appointment are sometimes distant but that's everywhere. If there is a cancellation, they have called me to get in sooner. I could go on for days about there wonderfulness but I'll keep it short and sweet. Thank you VCA for caring for my kids!!!

Don't be a new patient with an issue. You'll have to wait four month's for an appointment!!!Say What ?? 👎👎👎Called in July, new patients appointments to be seen in September... unfortunately my pet passed in August. Early detection would have saved him. Enough said. Still 👎👎👎

All of my SHV visits have been end of life situations. Recently my two beloved cats passed away sixteen days apart. Rosie was sixteen and Button died suddenly at only three years old. The staff graciously squeezed us in to have Rosie uthanized and have both cats cremated. The Dr's ( especially Dr. Roy) and staff are always professional , patient and compassionate.I highly recommend them Denise Rheaume

They're so good with my cats and bunnies, and they have actual late hours! That's a life saver for me. Great advice for my senior cat, too.The only thing to consider is MA doesn't currently (11/2023) have chips that also monitor body temperature, so you may want to pop over to CT to chip your companion animal. Long run, it'll save them the discomfort of the old-fashioned thermometer, and has a more accurate reading.

So I called on a Saturday during their posted business hours and got a message stating that they were in a meeting or experiencing very high call volume. That was at 1 they closed at 4. For the next 3 hours I called every 15 minutes and left a message. NO ONE answered the phone or EVER returned my call. If you want to call yourself a business and announce you are open on the weekend maybe you should actually do your job. My animal suffered because they wouldnt answer their phone. So if I could go with negative stars I definitely would. I will NEVER bring an animal to the place that couldn't even be bothered to answer a phone.

Our pet needed immediate care & they were the only place around that would see him the same day. Sadly a few months later he passed away. The staff sent us a sympathy card & the whole staff sign it. 😊

We recently brought our fur baby Beau. He has had a really rough life. Since he adopted us he is a different dog.However, he does have issues with other people and dogs.I cannot tell how fantastic Dr. Roy and our Vet. Tech. we’re with Beau. He was like a different dog. Dr. Roy was able to do whatever he needed with Beau. Beau even cuddled in our Vet. Tech’s arms. We were shocked (wish she had a name tag), how great Beau was.The staff is fantastic and Dr. Roy is absolutely the best.

Although our experience here was good with the vet and nice front desk. The only thing is, I spent a good amount of dollars for the care of our rabbit. Only to call one day when she was extremely sick and I was told they couldn't see her until her appointment which was a month Later. Unfortunately our baby passed away, she only lasted a couple of days because a different Vet trued her best to save her life. I was called a month later for her check up here and told the receptionist our baby past away and although she was sorry about it. I just felt more could have been done.

1st time visit yesterday, and a wonderful experience. The vet and staff were all very attentive and helped my kitty get over his nerves for his first visit. The only downside was having to wait 5 months for an appointment, but we have him on a regular schedule now and I understand they have a new vet as well so hopefully long waits for others will be a thing of the past

The tech that worked on my pet was super friendly and detailed. She did an amazing job. Alot of workers sat around the desk and chatted up, while I was waiting, amongst themselves. Was greeted and checked in rather quickly. New vets in practice for Brenner retired so don't know yet how the Dr's are.

I've taken my cats here 4 times now, 3 times for check ups and once for an infection, and everytime everyone has been more than wonderful. My cats are naturally very anxious and seeing them anxious makes me super anxious 😅 but the vets and assistants go out of their way to make us all feel as comfortable as they can. My cats are one of the most important things to me in my life and I'm greatful to have a place where it feels like thats recognized, and they are treated as such😊

Dr. Place and the team at VCA South Hadley are compassionate and professional. When we moved to the area from out-of-state, we were looking for a great vet practice to help us care for our aging Westie, Max. We've been beyond delighted with the team. They really do care. We're grateful.
