My daughter introduced me to this place for houseplants and, I was impressed with the variety. I love that they stock Hoya plants (pet friendly and beautiful blooms) but, wish they had a better variety. PLEASE. I found their prices comparable to online nurseries. Their plant pots are ridiculously high in price. One pot was $19.99 that I bought at Marshall’s down the street for $5.99, so can’t recommend them for plant accessories. I will be back to checkout new plant additions though.Purchases pictured: 2023

Polite and helpful service. Always willing to answer any questions you may have. The planted are very well tended and I have never lost one during it's intended season. A few of my perennials did not come back due to the hungry varmints underground

This place is a plant lovers DREAM!!! The only place I’ve found pink princesses at in mass and I’ve been searching around western mass and even parts of Connecticut to find the best plant shops and this one is one of my most favorite ones!! In my Top 2 for sure! All the staff members are very friendly and helpful, they have a vast amount of knowledge on the plants they carry, and even go as far as calling or emailing you if one of your dream plants comes in from your wishlist!! The only downside is that their plants are priced VERY high compared to what they should be, $189 was quite a bit for the philo in the 4th picture. If the pricing was a little more reasonable I’d never shop anywhere else!!!I was scared to leave this review so that people didn’t come and crowd my favorite spot and buy up all the babies since it seems not many know of this hidden gem but there’s more than enough plants there for everyone!! If you haven’t been yet I highly encourage you to go take look!!

Wanted to buy their transplant mix. Told it was outside in the parking lot. Raining hard. I am an elderly woman and was simply directed to go get it myself. No offer of assistance.Bag soaking wet and very heavy to lift. Non existent customer service.I will never go back to the Hadley Gardener's Supply.

This is a delightful garden shop. If you have only seen their catalogs the store is like walking through the catalog. They have everything a gardener wants. The staff is knowledgeable and super helpful. The plant and seed selection is vast and varied. It's fun just to walk through and see all the beautiful plants. Totally worth a visit.

This place is wonderful and welcoming! They take great care of all the plants fish, and more (we love an employee-owned business)! Carnivorous plants are notoriously hard to take care of, especially in their infancy, but the one I got has grown into a very healthy and large plant (note: these require specific care). The carnivorous plants there are high quality, as are the cacti, air plants, and more. They also have fish which is wonderful. 10/10 🌱

I ordered three planters a few months ago, this website could only fulfill one planter, but their emails keep saying that they sent me three. I called twice in the past, every time I had to explain the history of the issue, then they said they will refund me for the two planters not received. Today I had to call them the third time. The customer service representative who answered my phone took a while to review the history, told me that there were technical difficulties that they did not bother to fix, then expect me to explain the whole history of the issue again. When I refused and ask for just the refund, he hung up on me. Awful website to waste time and money to do business with.

I want to start by saying this place is adorable and has nice plants, very overpriced, but I will always support a local business. Most of the staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. The cashier on the other hand is not and is most likely giving customers bad advice. I came in yesterday to get this split leaf philodendron (monstera) and it was in pretty rough shape, so I decided to get a new pot for it. When I got to the counter to check out, the cashier ask me with a condescending voice "is that plant going in that pot?" To which I replied "yes". Then they proceeded to inform me that, "that pot is way too big for that plant". This is extremely bad advice considering this plant is suffocating in this tiny pot and should have been repotted quite some time ago. This plant was so root bound that I had to cut the container to get it out and there was more root than soil. You could tell just by looking at it that it was in distress. The best advice I can give is, if you're going to hire someone to work at greenhouse with limited knowledge, maybe train them better before they give a customer with no knowlege bad advice that will most likely end up with dead plants. Unfortunately this interaction may have turned me away from coming here in the future. Pictures have been provided for size comparison

My name is Max, and I have a problem.I keep buying houseplants. First it was a few accent pieces, then that one "large" Norfolk Island Pine. Before I knew it, I was surrounded by dozens of plants!!I blame Hadley Garden Center. Their indoor and outdoor plants are in such good condition that even a novice green thumb like me can keep them alive and thriving. I have never bought a plant from them that died, but even if I did, they offer a 3-month guarantee on houseplants. Great security blanket if I take my chances with something finicky. It's wonderful to be surrounded by green plants in my apartment. This place is great for feeding the obsession....

Walked into a “wonderland”. It has almost everything. Plants, seeds, pots, fertilizers, and decorations for gardens. The price is also fair. Love this place!

The phone message says they're too busy being attentive to in store customers to answer questions about inventory....really? It should say they can't be bothered to answer their phones to answer simple questions about inventory because they want you there to buy things you arent looking for. I'm 15 miles closer to this place than 16 Acres Garden Center, but I know 16 Acres has what I'm looking for. They'll get my business before gardeners supply does. A 15 second answer could've made the company a considerable amount of money but I'll go where customers are actually helped.

I’ve been coming here for 10+ years, but now the prices are too high. Some basic plants, which require multiple plantings, were overpriced. Example, Day Lillies. I was shocked as these cost 60% less at many other garden stores. They were all the same size, so perhaps selling trays with smaller ones could be beneficial for shoppers looking to save, especially on larger projects. Smaller plants would take less time to grow and nurture for the greenhouse. Even ground-covers were too expensive! I would rather ask neighbors for divisions. While a co-op seems progressive, I find that it mainly caters to clients from financially-secured demographics. We are not helping pollinators at these prices at all. It’s an illusion of progress and environmentalism. I can no longer afford to buy here. To those with the means, enjoy!

Been a customer here for years. Past few plant purchases all ended up dead due to bugs that came with the plant or I was sold dead plants (aka 'hibernating'). Returned the most recent dead plants only to be told that I couldnt get full store credit (in spite of being previously told that my membership entitled me to no questions returns). So, their unwillingness to give me $27 in store credit just cost them a customer. And, don't even get me started at how patronizing the staff person who was dealing me was. A shame, really, because it's a pretty place. Home Depot here I come :-(

Although the prices have gone up this is a mom and pop store fighting the trend of inflation which inflicts us all. I prefer to go here and help these fine folk out. Plus they have great flowers!

i’ve been coming here for over five years, one of the best plant shops in mass. fantastic selection, high variety and healthy plants. they have a number of rarer species as well as some more common and trendy ones. i’ve gotten quite a few dream plants from them. as others have mentioned the prices can be higher than big box stores, but you’re paying for quality. they do have a nice clearance rack near the back if you’re looking for something a little cheaper. their member program also has great deals.the green house is beautiful and very fun to browse. their outdoor selection during the spring is great too. make sure to come early in the season if you’re looking for fruit trees and such. they also have a great selection of paraphernalia, seeds and yard decorations year round.the tags and signs have accurate care instructions. the staff has been fantastic every time i’ve gone, they know a lot about plants and are very helpful, kind and accommodating. one time i dropped a plant and they repotted it for free. they really go above and beyond. i haven’t been around much during the pandemic but it doesn’t seem a lot has changed since it was purchased.

For the past 10 years Hadley Garden Center has been one of my “go to” places for plants and garden supplies, even though it requires me to drive an hour from my home. I always felt the trip to be well worth it, as I could always count on them for tried and true perennials as well as the latest in “neat” new plants. The nursery yard was packed with loads of choices and I indulged often, spending a lot on great plants each season.. The staff, an eclectic bunch, was knowledgeable and willing to take special orders for obscure species/varieties, many of which were often filled. Definitely not the least expensive source for plants, but I was willing to pay the reasonable premium to add something new and different to my perennial beds. Well, that has all changed. I knew that the business had been bought by Gardeners’ Supply, but since that company always makes a big deal of the fact that it is a garden company for gardeners I hoped for the best. So, after seeing that the nursery was open, I voyaged northward this morning with anticipation. I would better have stayed home. Nothing on the benches but the most boring of plants. And the prices are staggering; I don’t mind a fair markup, but from what I saw the premium was 50 to 60 per cent above what I can get the same plant for elsewhere. The staff obviously were hired to adhere to a certain appearance; Lots of thin, fit 20-somethings whizzing around-they may know plants, but I am not holding my breath on that, particularly as I saw a number of plants that obviously had not been watered. I felt like I could have easily been at a Home Depot or Lowe’s, where plants go to die. I am devastated that I have lost yet another source for unique plants. My suggestion to those considering a visit: Look elsewhere.

Ordered a raised garden bed last year and love it. Second year and realized I was missing one of the stakes and reached out to purchase because I couldn't find the item on their site and they just sent me a very prompt response apologizing that it was missing initially and letting me know they are shipping it out to be asap. Very impressive. Thank you.

I've been shopping at Hadley Garden Center for years. Great selection of indoor and outdoor plants, gardening supplies, seeds, bird feeding supplies, fertilizers and more. But it's the staff that makes it so great - excellent customer service & friendliness, knowledge and advice, and their winter gardening clinics are fabulous and free! One of the things I love about living in the Valley.

I spent $3000 plus on plants over the last two years. I want to say I love this place, but the staff can be really rude and uninviting. I can’t say that’s true for every staff member, because there has been some positive interactions, but there are a few who have been condescending and, well, rude. Since gardening has become my hobby, I will be taking my money elsewhere. I hope they are able to listen to this review and improve their customer service.

Love, love, love this place! I've been here twice to get advice for my sick orchid. Not only were the employees knowledgeable and friendly during both visits, but they also physically removed the root rot that was starting to develop on the plant and re-potted it for me for a nominal fee. Definitely the place to go if you're looking for knowledgeable people who will treat your plants with love and care <3.

I love this place. My only critique is that it's unfortunately not closer to my house! The staff is always great. They are connected to the hobby of gardening in knowledge, experience, and self-interest. This is a local garden center that could teach some of the bigger ones a thing or ten about engagement, passive up-sales, and customer loyalty development!

So far, the best selection of houseplants in 50-100 mile radius of Brattleboro, Vermont!! The staff are knowledgeable- I can walk in and ask for a “peperomia tetragona” and they know exactly what I’m looking for. It’s also worker owned. I haven’t shopped in the outdoor garden section but if you’re really in to house plants - they have best selection & best staff.

Despite being a public accommodation, they discriminated against me for not wearing a mask. Unacceptable. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on plants there, but since being discriminated against for having a MEDICAL CONDITION I will be taking my business to other nurseries that RESPECT their customers. Highly disappointed, I’m never going to waste my money on their plants again. I’m disgusted with how I was treated. The staff was extremely unwelcoming and confrontational. I would give 0 stars if I could.
