This bread expired over a week ago. No, I'm not going to argue over Best by vs expiry dates. Riddle me this: a loaf I purchased three weeks ago just expired on the 21st. Now this bread I just got today expired back on the 14th?? No, I wasn't the one who picked it out. Unfortunately, you can't avoid male dashers/instacarters, and they often do the bare minimum and don't check expiry dates. But I'd hope at the very least a grocery store wouldn't sell expired food. Gross.

This store is more than just a place to shop – it's a place where they do things right. The space is welcoming, clean, well stocked and the staff are fantastic. They truly care. I misplaced my ID and credit cards and was incredibly stressed. Turns out I had forgotten them 3 days prior at one of their registers. I was enormously relived to find them at the service desk. The way this store (and possibly the customer who saw my cards) handled it speaks volumes about their honesty and the kind of community they foster. Every store should take a page from their book!

I guess I have to drive 20 minutes or so to a Market Basket because I’m tired of minding my business and being bothered. Alfie’s never been a problem, anywhere!Barbara should probably be more concerned with how she’s ever going to retire than with my one-eyed elderly emotional support dog battling glaucoma taking a nap on his blanket in the cart. God forbid I have to go out and get groceries without him and both of us have a panic attack over something very preventable because all of a sudden people want to start upholding rules and regulations within a corporation and country that couldn’t careless about them or their livelihood. Nevertheless, I’m certain that those shopping carts have come in contact with worse things.And since she’s so worried about being fined by the Board of Health, I’ll be sure to let them and every other regulatory agency know about all the other rules being broken.It’s really sad that this is what the world has come to, like there are not bigger things to worry about. Anyway, I’ll be praying for all the Barbara’s out there.

Prices can be a bit higher compared to other grocery stores within driving distance. The use of paper bags at checkout is great, but they're overfilled, sometimes making them a rip hazard when you get home. Forget using your cellphone in there, too. So far, my produce has always been fresh, though.

To pick up a few things you can't find at other stores.. this is the go-to! It's clean and cut pineapple is fresher here than at other supermarkets. I took away a star because prices tend to be higher on most things than at competitors so I wouldn't go here for regular shops. I took away another star because the lines can be long and now and again a candied will just take absolutely forever and the other open line will get 3 carts done.

“Emilia” the cashier is wholly unqualified to be a cashier. After waiting in line nearly 40 minutes politely suffering from a malfunctioning checkout machine Emilia never sought assistance, never thought of changing lines to a new machine or warning people waiting in line. They were incapable of speaking and seemed to be in some kind of personal panic, which is fine but if the pressures of being a cashier at 3pm in the afternoon is too much then they should be moved to a new job. When I finally reached the front of line with all of my weekly groceries already in the belt, I asked Emilia why she had not switched lines. My reward? They decide to close the line and have me pack up all the weekly groceries already on the belt. The enormous line shifted over to the newly opened line and did Emilia hold my spot already at the front? No, of course not. Emilia expected me to go all the way back to the back of the now enormous line after having waiting 40 minutes and loading everything in the belt and then unloading it. When I asked to speak with a manager Emilia froze in panic seemingly unable to do anything. I finally flagged a manager who told me “they were short handed” which was not the issue. The issue was Emilia. Emilia failed for more than 40 minutes to act in a faulty check out machine. Then when I told them to act, they failed to be thoughtful and caring and ensure those who had waited patiently were served in order. Then they failed again to act when a customer was upset. They failed to communicate. Their manager on shift failed to be paying attention. Needless to say, I was left with the option of waiting yet again in an endless line so I left the cart full of groceries for them to put away. If the GM of this property cares at all please contact me.

Nice supermarket. Always friendly staff at the checkout. Reasonable prices, especially at the moment with the Monopoly coupon promotions currently going. Also a gas saving based on points from your bill going towards money of gas purchase with the participating gas station. All in all a great supermarket.

Shaws is nice and they have a huge selection. The lot is well lit, snow is well managed and relatively flat. Easy to get on and off 119, especially if you need to pick something up on your way to work and traveling eastbound. Traffic moves fast in the area especially on the side streets. The Shaw's app is good but shop early in most sales to get the best deals.

Get less for your dollar at Shaw's... This is the only supermarket in a wealthy town.E.G. sodastream ginger ale flavor is $14 for one bottle. It is $14 for two bottles on Amazon.

At the time of my visit, the supermarket was bustling with shoppers; however, there wasn't the feeling that it was overcrowded. The is a huge parking lot and an a.ple supply of carts.the supermarket is wheelchair accessible.A wide selection of fruits and vegetables are laid out at the entrance...this made me tingle as I really love fruits and veggies.As I moved on I was impressed with the layout and cleanliness of the supermarket. Shelves were fully stocked and the aisles were clear of clutter. Items are clearly marked and those on sale (according to the flyers) were also readily available.I asked to use the restroom and was directed to a nice sized and very clean bathroom. Soap, toilet paper, and drying machines/ paper were there.Checkout was easy. I rate MY experience 5 stars! Well done Shaws!

This store is always clean and never really crowded in the mornings when I usually do my shopping. The employees I have encountered have been friendly. They have not been to low on food and other supplies as of late. I am one of those people who prefers to use the scan your own when I have a few items. This store does not offer that option. The produce and deli are priced fairly and always stocked fresh from what I can tell. I do recommend if your in the area to venture here if your looking for a grocery store.

Produce is really good quality. Deli products are pretty good, although a lot of the prepared salads (chicken salad, ham salad, etc) are very heavy on the mayonnaise and don't seem to last very long after I get them home; a few days at most. Beyond that you're taking your chances. Prices are okay; sale prices on meat products are excellent but not-on-sale prices are a little steep. Checkout experience used to be consistently excellent, but this seems to have gone downhill the past few years.

I don't usually shop here but went in for a few things because it was convenient. While getting some chicken I noted about a half dozen packs of breasts were 9 days off the sell by date. NINE DAYS! How can this even be possible? Probably won't be shopping here again.

The store is wonderful. Large, lit, clean, a lot of variety, but when I cashed out my rewards were not applied to my order and I asked for a credit and I had to do it all over again. If you don't do the coupon thing it is much easier as Shaw's screws up all the time with that, or its employees do, across all stores. But this store in particular is just wonderful to shop in.

This store has so much untapped potential. Great seafood selection, but no butcher shop. Great deli, but never enough cashiers on the front end. Good store, but could be so much better.

Most of the products are 20% higher price than the Market Basket 5 miles away.They do have some "just for you" special deals that are seriously good deals.Good clean store. Very spacious.Disappointing meat department.By far the best part of the store is there isn't any crowds even in peak shopping times

Good selection, a little more pricey compared to other chains. But usually quiet whenever I go there so I don't mind. Store is clean and employees are helpful. Sometimes I end up bagging my own groceries because in the morning there are only two lanes open.

The store is pricey ANd is getting worse! $6.99 for a danish that last year was $3.69... almost $3 for a bottle of Coke when last year they were usually 2 for $4...95% of the time! It is clean and well stocked but you need to watch the expiration dates too because staff still doesn't know how to rotate stock.

I wish we had started using them as our primary grocery store sooner, they have way more variety than a lot of the other grocery stores and everything we needed was in stock (even some items that are frequently out of stock in the other stores) Was also a lot more open and less crowded!

I've noticed prices being very misleading lately. Things on clearance are marked up before they're marked down. Same with sales prices. There are only ever 1-2 registers open at any time. The carts are old and broken. Once I had to go through over 10 carts to find one that worked and didn'thave a broken kid seat or a broken seat belt. There's never anyone at customer service. Unfortunately it's the closest grocery store to my house without having to drive over 30 minutes so I'm stuck going to this miserable place when I'm in a pinch.Update: they've really improved over time! Everything I had issues with have been fixed. Much better

Nice store. Very clean and well stocked. Great variety and friendly employees. Usually very quick through the registers. Full service supermarket with many different brands. Easy access.Update- prices have risen significantly due to supply chain issues. Still clean and easy access, but some ítems in short supply and much more expensive now.

The place is going down hill. All the things we usually get there was now empty shelves. Some was there but had to go with to much because there was barely any stock of normal sized product. The 10 pound bag of potatoes was bad. Half the potatoes were rotten, soft and mushy. Ground beef, cheeses, to produce. Can goods and dry stuff there is plenty. But cooler and freezer sections along with produce was very lacking. We use this Shaws often. But now we will go elsewhere.

I like Shaw's. For a grocery store, it's suprisingly relaxing to walk through. It's pretty quiet during the week and the aisles are definitely wider than market basket so it doesn't feel cramped. (A side note for mom's with energetic kids, because it is so open it's less likely you will lose sight of little ones that may run off.) As for prices, they are on the pricier side but they have great sales especially around holidays! Definitely check out their 3 day sales (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only) and their weekly specials (Friday to Thursday). For example, we like to do the 4 12 packs of soda for $10 when it comes up. I also got a 5 lb bag of potatoes for $1.77 today and a 2 lb bag of carrots was $0.99. Also got my Thanksgiving turkey there for a great price a few months back. We only had to feed 3 so it was a smaller one. Anyways, definitely check it out. Sometimes there are additional sales not mentioned in the flyer or additional items marked down because they are going to expire soon. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm definitely a fan. The only reason for the 4 stars is because it's rare that I go and buy things at their regular/ non-sale price. My grocery budget is a little too tight for that.

The service here was the worst! There was no one at the service desk. There was absolutely no front end assistant manager/ manager anywhere in site. The women's bathroom was ABSOLUTELY APPALLING! Toilets over flowing, feces on the toilet seats, water/ waste on the floor, and someone had dropped there used tampon on the floor along with dirty toilet paper. Definitely not an experience I would have expected to have at Shaw's.
