They have helped me take care of my dogs, cats and ferrets. All of the vets and techs, everyone is pleasant and easy to talk to. Compassionate, efficient and easily adaptable to my animals different temperaments. I’m never being “sold,” tests or anything that aren’t important.I love how they check up on us days, weeks after the appointment and even called the next day after I had to take one of my dogs all the way to Woburn (Animal Hospital) on a Sunday.

Everyone here is so kind. Quick to get my fur babies in when needed. Dr. Sam Adams is so wonderful with all of my babies! She is patient and kind and gives great advice. Listens to concerns. Highly recommend.

Post covid this place has gone to hell. watch out for these scumbags .They barely pick up the phone when you call. When you do get through you better hope your doctor (my case Dr. Adam’s) is on the premises or they won’t help you. And you have to play the guessing game of her schedule, which post covid i was apparently terrible or she refuses to come to work. Either way absolutely terrible service with scum who actively insures your dog gets seen only for yearly checkups, they refused all other services, and i was a client for about 6years.I switched to Belchertown Vet and best decision! They actually want to help your pet especially if they are in pain.Beware of the scum at Countryside, especially if you get Dr. Adam her receptionist absolutely does not want to do her job or have Adams do hers as well. Pathetic garbage

I have been going to Countryside for approximately 6 years. Love, love Dr Adams!! I have 3 English Labradors, all indifferent stages of their lives. The vets and staff are just great. They are professional, caring and very concerned about the dog’s comfort and the the comfort level of the owner. I have never had a bad experience at Countryside.

Dr. Adams has been great to both my cat TJ and my dog Bruce. Bruce went in for a teeth cleaning and ended up needing more teeth pulled than expected, the staff kept me informed through the whole process and called to check on him and make sure he was doing well. Staff is very friendly and helpful!Update: We have also started seeing Dr. Goodreau the new vet over at Countryside. She is also great! They are patient with my difficult dog and accommodate us by letting me wait in the car so he doesn't get anxious in the waiting room.

Best vet around. Sam Adams is such an amazing doctor and super caring. You'll see what I mean the second you meet her. We take all 4 of our animals there and continue to have great interactions with all the staff members.

To be clear, the doctors are wonderful. However, the support staff are not. I brought my dog there for 10 years. A member of their staff called me while I was driving home from a visit and accused me of not paying. I had paid them hundreds if not thousands of dollars over the years. I pulled over the vehicle and took a snap shot of the credit card they just charged. I called back and she hung up on me. I then texted the proof. After talking with another customer of the same practice (my neighbor) I was told she went through something similar. Dr. Adams or Dr. Goodreau aren’t aware of what’s really going on there. I was refused further service pretty much for doing nothing wrong. Now my dog has to suffer. I’m told Dr. Goodreau left the practice.

If you drive down route 202, there are many vets to choose from. You should definitely choose Countryside Animal Hospital. The doctors take exceptional care of our 4 animals- 2 dogs and 2 cats- thank you Dr. Adams for being so kind and gentle with our fur babies! They have also taken care of our foster dogs when we needed it most and haven't made us wait weeks for an appointment like our previous veterinary hospital. Sophie at the front desk has great customer service skills, and is always personable and patient. Highly recommend their veterinary care to anyone!

I went to these people for 10 years.Being a new dog owner I went frequently.I spent hundreds of dollars.I got stuck in Florida for pandemic. I have a dying dog and a dog that needed a rabies shot. This clinic didn't care about my dog that was dying and wouldn't get meds for dogs even though Florida vet sent info.Avoid..M. Harrington

Countryside is the best animal hospital anywhere. We have followed Dr. Edman from when she worked in South Hadley to Hadley and finally to Countryside. Dr. Adams is equally as awesome and the staff is top notch. I wouldn't trust my animals anywhere else.

My husband brought my dog to this hospital because she was unable to walk, and wasn't eating. No one would see her. He was told the vets had appointments, and could not treat her. I have been a customer for many years and many pets and was heartbroken. I then received an email telling me my dog was no longer their patient. They would forward her medical records.

Dr Edman is Very caring and capable . I was looking for an office that I could bring my very fearful large dog to that was willing to understand and take the time to try and gain her trust w/out adding to it and I def found the right place. Dr Edman went above and beyond my expectations .The staff obviously follow the doc's example and I have had nothing but good exp at this office.

Our Hannah was diagnosed in February 2017 with Myasthenia Gravis and Megaesophagus. She has been phenomenal in caring for her and routinely calls or emails to see how she's doing. They have always been very flexible with appointments and the staff has also been fantastic.

my two legged family has been brining my foit legged family to see DR edman for many years, we walk in the door and both me and our pets are greeted and welcomed, the staff is very polite friendly and caring, my mom was actually just in there this morning sadly to put her cat to sleep and they were such caring and down to earth people, just so friendly....you van always tell when people are being nice and polite or friendly because they have to and its part of their job or they have to be versus people who are just nice kind and polite people as they are just that kind of person. as well all have had our animals get sick at the worst time when bills are all due and paid or the car broke down and your short on cash, my mom being one of those people with the bad luck she has.....they have helped her out eith the pricing side of things and still gave supirior aid to our pets. i honestly feel that when these people take care of our pets they are taking care of them the same they would take care of thier own, so big thanks to all the staff at countryside!

Since the 1980's, I've had years of experience in pet store work, running a cat rescue and assisting veterinarians. Since moving East in 1997, Countryside is the second veterinarian office (and for 10+ years I drove 45 minutes each way to the first one) that I've felt really good about sticking with long-term. In rescue, I've used other good vets (Holyoke Hosp., Blandford, Hampden, Eastfield, and a very good ortho doc in Hadley), but for me, that's IT for this region, and Countryside tops them in terms of "overall" points -- cleanliness, friendliness, price, wait time, ease of getting in, willlingness to work with you, etc. etc. I've had only the highest-level professional care from both Dr. Adams and Dr. Edmonds. We're talking cutting edge expertise combined with compassion for both pets AND their owners (a rare find in this biz). Their staff is both long-term and devoted to the profession. I am certain that you cannot do better around here.

I brought my ferret Rocky to Dr. Edman back in November because he was losing fur on his tail and losing weight. While these can be symptoms of adrenal disease, they can also be symptoms of a cancer that is very aggressive unless treated early. She preformed no diagnostic tests, no blood tests, she merely diagnosed him as having adrenal disease by looking at him. I spent $300 in Novemeber for his examination, a Lupron shot ($50) that treats adrenal disease and $68 for a melatonin implant to also treat adrenal disease. Does this sound like if Dr. Edman had suggested a blood test that I would have said "no" because I didn't want to spend whatever it would have cost to get him healthy?!? We started him on a treatment course for adrenal disease which was a Lupron shot every month ($70 a shot). The price of the shot went from $50 to $70 every month because she gives them an "examination" along with the shot. We THOUGHT he was getting better. This past Sunday night Rocky had a seizure and we found out she misdiagnosed him and he really had lymphoma, a severe type of cancer. If she had done a simple blood test we could have saved him. Instead she charged us $500 before she told us she couldn't do anything and sent us to Angell Animal Hospital in Boston. At this time the cancer had spread throughout his body and he was too far gone. By the time we got him there he was severely dehydrated and had almost no blood left in his body. A tumor in his liver burst and he was bleeding into his stomach. That is the last image I have of my baby - suffering. Oh, lymphoma can cause a tumor on the adrenal glands, causing the weight loss and fur loss, symptoms similar to adrenal disease. If she had done the blood test back in November I could have treated him for the cancer and he would still be with me today. My husband and I trusted her with his well being and she basically charged us for a treatment he didn't need and left his cancer to run through his organ systems and destroy his body. If a human doctor had made a mistake this big they would be in serious trouble. Nothing will bring my baby back, but I am pleading with you to find another vet. Anyone who is a real animal lover knows that pets are not just animals, they are members of our family. Our babies can't speak and they rely on us to get them treated when they are sick. Just because they are pets doesn't mean they don't deserve the best care possible. With money not being a factor, we could have had a blood test and been spared the tremendous heartache we are feeling now. When I speak of the heartache "we" are experiencing, I am also speaking of Rocky's brother Pistachio. He walks around looking for his brother who he will never see again. My entire family is grief stricken and we will NEVER be able to get over the thought that we are without him when he could have been easily saved.I can never get Rocky back, but what I can do is share my story and hope that you will find a vet who is committed to doing ALL they can to give the best care to your furry family members.
