This place is absolutely insane! I've been a fish owner just about a year, and so far this shop is by far the best I've visited. Well stocked with amazing variety of fresh and tropical fish, supplies, affordable shrimp, etc. Staff is mostly very nice, too. I just wish there was a larger variety of "self serve" plants in addition to those in their various tanks. I haven't visited during the summer heat yet... Should be fun as the shop is very humid!!

I really appreciate that they don't keep their betta fish in tiny cups! All the fish looked healthy, good selection of plants and hardscape as well. I live an hour away but will definitely be coming here for fish and supplies in the future.

A really great little fish store. Staff is extremely helpful and the selection of hardscape is nice. Every chemical, food and tool you could possibly need is in stock, and they are authorized sellers of some of the best aquariums on the market.Their fish and plants are healthy, and sometimes they get stock from local hobbyists that is really exceptional too. They also sell RO water! :)

Super knowledgeable and helpful staff, great selection of fresh and saltwater fish & plants. Very expensive. Drabby small banana plants go for $15 when absolutely stunning ones go for $8 at neds. Closed on Tuesdays, which always feels like the only day I need to go lol. Overall Tropic Isle is a huge part of the metrowest fishkeeping community, with an easily accessible & great location right on route 9.

Very happy with our visit today. I only went in for a couple guppies and was expecting the typical small town vibes. However this place is so full of well organized fish. Saltwater fish and freshwater fish. An associate mentioned they breed some fish in house which made me feel great about our choice to buy fish from them. Each member of staff knows their stuff! It was a breath of fresh air to speak with people who actually know real facts about fish care and aquarium needs. Their prices on fish reflect the quality. Other aquatic needs including plants were at a much more economical price than other major stores in the area. Well worth the trip. We will be back soon!

I've been to this store 3 times. All three times I have to chase people around the store to get any help. Checkout is super slow. Customer service leaves something to be desired.

this aquarium by far is worth the drive. Please don't waste your money on petco or petsmart fish. The quality of fish from tropical isle to the box stores is like comparing apples to oranges. They have a large selection of fish . But most importantly quality fish. They had a very large selection of german blue rams. Being a great fish For community aquariums. I had to pick One up.. Beautiful when he colors up!!!!

Tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt because they had good reviews... But lemme tell ya, DONT go here. I have made multiple purchases and this is the last straw. Gold mystery snail from there, dead, cichlids dead, shrimps dead. The staff is rude, guy who answered the phone was asinine and only wanted to tell me how good their return policy has been for 30 years. Make sure you get there within 48 hours with all the carcases and water sample to get a refund. What a joke. All I got was $60 worth of dead shrimps, days of unanswered phone calls and then a call to my bank to dispute this bogus fish store. Maybe treat your customers a little bit better. And tell the old lady at the register to stop slamming the bags on the counter when she checks them out. Get bent tropic Isle. Pics of my healthy cycled aquarium that the poor quality shrimp died in and the poor quality shrimp

This is my favorite aquarium store in the greater boston area, having been to most of them.Staff is really friendly, helpful, responds to emails, and most importantly: insanely knowledgeable. The fish are kept in really good condition and the plants are quite healthy.I now sort of just come here to chat with the staff at this point.Would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Lots of aquariums and boxed supplies for tank setup. I came for refrigerated, liquid food bottles for saltwater fish and corals. They had brands I recognized and some of the specific products I was looking for. They don’t have the ability to refill five-gallon jugs of fresh or saltwater from a live refugium which we had been accustomed to at our original reef store from before the move but we can still get that from a different store up in Waltham as needed.

We're very new to this hobby, only 3 weeks in. This place has been the absolute best in helping guide us in our journey and offer advice. We are so proud of our tank which is now a centerpiece in our home. Thank you so much Katie, Ellis, Steve, Shawn, Shae, and everyone else who helped us!

Very knowledgeable staff and incredible variety of livestock, plants and equipment/materials for all aquarists. We went today and had a really great experience with one of their experts; we asked many questions and got great advice. It's clear the people who work here have a passion for what they do and that it's more than just a job for them. Everything is clean, organized, all fish look very healthy and again, the variety is astounding. Met the new owner and she was very kind to us and our 4 year old daughter. We will continue supporting this business, there's no place like this!

I always look forward to visiting Katie and her knowledgeable crew at Tropic Isle. They provide everything you’d expect from a fish store, and they’re happy to rehome animals! Their new location is also a serious upgrade, and their stock of captive-bred animals is especially enticing. Support your LFS!

Had a good experience at Tropical Isle. I had gone in looking for Cichlids that weren't available at your typical big pet stores. While looking through the tanks. All the fish looked very healthy and cared for. This made my purchase very easy it. I've had my fish for more than 3 days now and no signs of illness or parasites. I would return back again for my next fish(es) purchase or tank setup.

This aquarium store is by far the best I have ever been to, within a few minutes I was greeted by a employee, they asked great questions, and took the time to answer all of my questions. This store has the largest selection of freshwater fish and saltwater fish and supplies, if you walked in wanting to start a aquarium they can expertly guide you and give you the complete solution from start to finish in one stop. They definitely know what they are talking about and truly gave me expert advice. I spent $100 on healthy fish, plants, and misc. supplies, but felt like the customer service and advice really made the difference. This is the only aquarium store I will go thank you.

Phenomenal staff. Great selection of aquacultured fish. Purchased my GSP (profile pic) from them almost a decade ago and he is still doing great. More recent acquisitions have been some black ice clowns, royal Gramma, and a rainford goby. All gorgeous specimens.

The staff here is generally very nice and helpful in choosing the right species. However, their fish can come with diseases. I got 6 endlers and 2 platies from here, and after 2 months they came down with a nasty case of camallanus. I didn’t have fish from anywhere else as I was a newbie. When I asked for advice from them (before I figured out what the illness was), they just said the fish looked fine. I lost 3 fish before figuring out the problem. When I returned to tell them what I discovered, they were very dismissive and didn’t seem concerned that their fish had the parasite. Camallanus in particular is very hard to see until the later stages, so I worry that many of their customers are getting sick fish and won’t find out until months later.
