I love Mellisa's pet depot! They helped me find the right prong collar and fit it right on the spot! They also recommended wonderful trainer for our boy. He's loves Mellisa's as much as I do!!!

Medium size pet store. It had the dog food I was looking for and a few extras. I was able to get in, find what I needed, and get out. Great shopping experience overall.However, there was a super loud parrot in a separate room, covered but obviously not happy. I'm not sure what they could have done, but it was unpleasant.

Went for the pet wash. Staff really friendly and helpful. They ration the soap, which worked fine, but I had to pay for extra towels and it was timed. Even the treat afterwards was too pricey. I like to support small businesses but I doubt I will be able to shop here often.

They have very little care about selling diseased fish and rabbits. You can see the rabbit has eye irritation and inflammation. Awful do better for the animals sake

Place is nice and clean. I went in looking for fish and was very impressed with the tank conditions. Sadly the employee couldn't answer my questions about existing water parameters and I was just told that they didn't have the answer. They member attempted to get it either, thus losing sales. Educate your staff to get answers if they don't have them.

Excellent GEM!!! Very knowledgeable staff. Lots of inventory. I see unfair MAD people putting down reviews. I felt like a person and NOT a client with the Professionalism that came my way. To hell with chain stores.... every penny I spend will be local business!! Chewy and petco answered 0 of my questions, I'm much happier w the quality customer service I got. Melissa's has all my future business!! Thanks again

I brought a senior rescue I am fostering for a much need bath. The very kind girl with short curly hair was amazing. I am sorry I didn't get her name. She let me leave my car out front while I got Lacey in the tub. She can't walk very well and this was a huge favor. She walked me through everything and after I gave Lacey the bath, I left her in the tub so I could move my car out front again. She went in and kept her calm until I came back. AWESOME STAFF and a great store!!

Took my two dogs in to have nails clipped. The man was fantastic with them. So patient and he got right down on the floor when I couldn't get one dog to climb on the table. Will definitely bring them back again. I also think the store is well stocked with pet's needs.

Has been our favorite pet store for many many years! The people who work there are always so kind and friendly. They are very informative and helpful. A trusted place to board our furry small animals while we are away. Great product and feeder selection as well!

I've been getting my pets from here for years and all of them are always very healthy and tame. Most of the animals are young and all of them are well-cared for. The staff here is amazing and the products are some of the best around, perfect for the animals and built for them. They also tend to answer emails and phone calls very quickly with straightforward answers to any questions. Definitely my favorite pet store!Edit: They also accept surrenders and will put you on a waiting list for certain animals if you ask!

Great prices on fish. Very friendly staff. I recently got a new puppy and needed help picking out food. Shift manager Jolie Was very informative and even gave me some samples to try. I went back shortly after because my puppy would not eat some of the older dog food I had purchased and she suggested they freeze dry treat to add to the food now my puppy devours everything.

Absolutely terrible experience. I am a novice at starting a fishtank. I was sold things I didn't need and after doing exactly what I was told to do to acclimate the fish to the tank, $200 dollars later, the fish died. Never again.

05/21/17I go in to aquatics section to purchase dwarf Mexican Lobsters associate was very helpful and kind but lacked knowledge in that department. Also looked at a snail for puffer fish and another for 75 gallon tank went to get one every single snail in tank was dead (at least 10) plus various other fish in other tanks dead as well. When associate calls to manager to make her aware of situation management responds with a snappy attitude "just take them out" I understand that it's only snails but if that's the attitude taken to aquatics I worry about the quality of the rest of the fish. Store very clean and we'll organized beyond that. Best prices I will say on fish, and great selection on decorations. Generally when I go here I'm pleased with the service and employee willingness to help with any other questions I have.

The store had exactly what I was looking for. The prices were reasonable, and actually lower than I expected. To say that the staff was friendly and knowledgeable is an understatement. We were assisted by two staff with exceptional customer service skills. We will be skipping the bigger pet stores and going back to this place.

I pick up a few new fishes for my collection, they are very healthy and are adapting fine. I'll mention to owner in the past about poor fish stock, and it was much improved on this visit. Thank you and the prices good.

So I called prior to driving here and asked how much a 7lb bag of ferret food was and was told 35$ which matches the price of petco and other major corporations that don’t price match! I get there and was told it was 51$! Mind you it costs 16-20$ online through chewy or pet supplies plus down the road which was out of stock so you mean to tell me you have to profit 200-300% on a product so people can just feed there animals! Ridiculous and wasn’t even met with a simple sorry for them telling me the wrong price and wasting my time

2 months ago, My father bought a juvenile leopard gecko. He was very skinny, and lethargic, living in very poor conditions at the pet store. A week later my dad gave him to me. He said he had eaten very little and hadn't moved too much.My dad and I are both beginners at taking care of reptiles. Although we knew it was common for (all animals ) geckos to adjust and shy away from everything for a bit, so we thought his lack of appetite was caused by stress.After giving it more time, and doing research, his behaviors suggested it was likely he had mites. I called the pet store, concerned, and was returned with a simple, "we don't have anything to treat mites." Then after speaking with the manager, he suggested it was a simple cold, which I really don't think is possible. He told me to bring him in so he could have a look.When I went to the pet store and let him look at my very weak and frail gecko, he jostled him around. He asked about my husbandry and even asked if I was "spraying down his tank multiple times day", to which I replied with, "no he uses his humid hide." (Geckos should not be sprayed down at all!)He then admitted right away they had him for a long time, and recognized him because of his issues and them began to ridicule me for not bringing him in sooner. At which my mom replied, "she decided to care for him because her father didn't want him, and she's just 15." He said he was going to try to force feed him back to health, and I said he needed immediate veterinary care, which to which he laughed and replied, "you want me to take him to the vet?" As if it didn't have anything to do with him, like it wasn't ultimately his responsibility for selling me this sick gecko in the first place. I do not have the experience to care for a sick reptile. Making me feel even worse about giving him up, he said "remember he's still a pet." Insinuating I was just dumping him, making the already hard decision to let my beloved gecko go, even harder.I find it appauling and honestly disgusting these people have no respect for their image. I found reptiles with algae ridden drinking water , dead insects and feces rotting in the enclosures , and cages unfit for the species. What these people do to their animals is sick, and without veterinary care some don't make it , and they aren't even willing to try.

The ladies behind the counter are extremely sweet and kind!! As for the owner Steven, he was the total opposite! Not wearing a mask in the store, yelling I should’ve called before I went in to get my dogs nails trimmed ( even though I did call 10min prior to going there) and as he walked out of the store gave me a dirty look! Extremely inappropriate, rude and unprofessional behavior from an owner!!!

I absolutely LOVE Melissa's! The staff are always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The store is always clean and welcoming. The animals always look well cared for. I go in for their amazing doggie pastries and cookies, dog toys and grooming products. Also for cat treats, cat toys and scratchers. And of course to see Skittles, he's an amazing Parrot who roams the store and is so lovable. Actually the first time I met him he broke my necklace lol. Good thing he's adorable, I didn't mind. I definitely recommend Melissa's to anyone looking for great pet supplies at good prices. I always refer friends and family there, they always come back saying they found what they needed or that they were impressed with the associate who helped them. They go above and beyond to help and it does not go unrecognized. Keep up the great work, we all appreciate it!

I take my Guinea Pig to the one in Fairhaven!! Oreo has her nails trimmed every month there!! The Employees there are the BEST!! Update: I now trim the Piggy's Nails at home. But I do Frequent Melissa's for their needs! 🐽

I like their self-doggy wash station. It's in a separate room where only one dog at a time can be washed; especially great when your dog doesn't play well with others. There's a ramp up into the wash basin, which makes it easier when your 100 lb dog doesn't particularly like baths; much easier to get her in. They provide shampoo, towels, an air dryer, ear cleaning wipes, etc. The price is reasonable (it's normally $20 when I wash Kal and she takes about 30 mins); it's based on how long it takes. Unfortunately, it's a little tired in there. The water faucet is broken, the aprons are torn. But, it's functioning and best suits the needs of my dog.

Bad! Went to use the self dog wash Sunday afternoon 4:30 to be exact. Right On the self wash room door there was a sign that stated to see the cashier before using the wash so I head to the register and I wait for a cashier until this girl showed up to ask me just like this “aren’t you thinking to use the wash are u?” I said yes. That’s where all begins she told me I was to late to use the wash that there’s only 10 minutes left before they close because the grooming closes at 5:00 pm and they’re cleaning them both the grooming and the self wash at the same time. I told the girl it’s only 4:30 on the store website says that the dog wash operates till 6:00 pm she said it’s Sunday! Yes but the wash closes at 6:00 pm and it’s 4:30 pm it looks that that place it’s full of lazy people period. I will never try to use their service this was going to be the first time but end out been the last!
