Well made, heavy sweatshirts. We've bought many for ourselves, family and friends. On this last trip we purchased 4 sweatshirts and a coffee mug. All high quality merchandise. The only thing I found disappointing was seeing the "Made in China" stamp under the price sticker as I removed it to wash. I'd like to see more "Made in America" stamps on their merchandise.

They charged me 48$ for my hat!!! Receipt reads 2- shirts at 48$ eachWe had 1- hat and 1- shirt ehhhhhWell we are in Indiana so I’m not going back with receipt. No excuse for this , we were the only customers there .

Very nice store. I gave it 4 stars because i feel like a place on the Vinyard should have a little more merchandise with Edgartown or Martha's Vinyard on it . Also, the cashier didn't seem to be fond of dogs . There was a poodle inside, and she wouldn't show me where an item was because there was a dog.

We are fans of The Black Dog companies and we are on a much-needed vacation here at Martha's Vineyard. We recognize that the pandemic has been rough on everyone's social interactions but we had an odd experience here which made us sour on the retail spot. We were asked three times if we needed assistance finding anything which is fabulous! They care about their customers obviously. The last employee to ask us was quite snarky with us and we ended up leaving and not purchasing anything. We had been in the store for about 15 - 20 minutes just browsing and shopping for our dog who is sensitive to a lot of sizes as materials of retail items so we oftentimes have to take our time reading sizes and ingredients in materials (he has sensitive skin and some past traumas - is afraid of plastic bags and crinkly material), and the employee asked us if we needed help. We replied, as any customer would, "No, we are just looking/browsing" and she snapped "I know you're looking! I've seen you in here going back and forth for awhile!" as if we have to stick to a time table to leisurely shop on our vacation. Not appreciated, considering my fiancée and I both deal with social anxiety and were trying to support the business. We ended up leaving with nothing for our dog or a souvenir for ourselves and went shopping elsewhere. I am unsure if we were being profiled for being younger than the usual crowd or if she was just passively accusing us of "browsing for too long". Very irritating and sort of ruined our day. Not cool.

I'm not sure what the point is in reviewing this store. It is the ultimate yuppie brand for those aspiring to bring home a little piece of Martha's Vineyard. The clothing is pricey but well made.

My mom was hoping this would be an actual general store, which it was not. The name of the store is misleading and it's just really a generic Black Dog shop that you can find on Cape Cod and on the Islands.
