I cannot say enough about how excellent my recent trip here was. From the staff and technicians on to Dr. Larned, everyone was kind, patient and reassuring - and honest. I truly felt heard and that I can trust everyone here to guide me in making sure my cat gets the very best care - and that’s so valuable to me I had to leave a rare review.

Had to bring our dog in the day before Thanksgiving as he suddenly became I’ll. Got an appointment right away and the covering vet fromPTown couldn’t have been greater. She was so attentive to our and the dogs needs and wanted to make sure every avenue was covered while keeping expenses in mind. Her diagnosis appears to have been right on and we are so happy to report our senior hound is doing well .

Everyone from the doctors to the front desk, assistants and techs are fantastic! They really care about the animals they work with every day! Such a professional and clean facility! I highly recommend to everyone I know.Update: when my cat Frank wasn’t doing well after the anesthesia given to get his lion cut he was seen immediately and everyone was so caring and professional with him! They are the BEST!

this is the best staff most caring they went above and beyond and are there for the animals. I've never encountered another vet service with so much caring and love for the animals they help

Update - 10/16/2023 -Will update review if any adjustments are made by Lower Cape Vet…Given reply from Lower Cape, I called as requested & await a response. I will update review after speaking with billing dept - contact Melissa - at Lower Cape VetOriginal Review - August 2023Brought our dog in last week for a possible tick issue - turned out to be a minor skin infection. Vet care was solid & nurse was kind & friendly. 4 stars - as it was a little odd with a mobile home set up instead of going into a regular office. The 1 star review is for the billing, office manager & reception. We were charged $212 for a very simple procedure and visitand we’re not told upfront at any time what would be the cost as a new client.Several reviews below 3 stars note the corporate owner & cost / like $1300 for spay/neuter procedure. We were told the office manager would call us to discuss as we were happy to pay the regular office visit price which is a little over $100 but the urgent visit seemed excessive. There was no call for over a week. So we had to call back and the office manager still was “unavailable“.Then the receptionist was unapologetic for no manager calling and asked if she could help, and she just told us the fee was the fee, even though we were not given the estimate or heads up of any kind. She then ended the call by asking us not to call back the vet. Needless to say we will be choosing another Vet on the Cape when we need one & will dispute the charge with our credit card given the lack of transparency & communication. The vet care staff was great, the billing, office manager, and receptionist need guidance on customer relations. At the very least, I hope the receptionist is trained to give new clients an estimate of the charges that they will incur. We would’ve found a different vet if we were told upfront that a same day appt was $212. Their website clearly states that customers will be given an estimate of the charges. Will update review if any adjustments are made by Lower Cape Vet…

I had a great experience at Eastham Vet Hospital! I’m on vacation and my dog was sick. They were able to get us a same day appointment. It was a great option versus waiting the 2-4 hours I was quoted for the Dennis Emergency care and the fee was slightly cheaper. They were efficient even with their construction. Can’t recommend them enough. My one con was I wish I could have gone in with my dog but everything else was still pretty great and my dog is on the mend.

What a difference upper management makes in the climate of a business! Our entire family had been happily using Eastham Vet for over 30 years up until yesterday, when I was handed my pets records by a young, inexperienced receptionist who evidently "fired me" from being client there any more, for questioning one charge on my bill!My first experience with this individual was a few weeks ago when I was attempting to pay my bill with Care Credit. They kept telling me that I had to pay first and submit to my insurance company afterwards. I was trying to explain that Care Credit was a form of payment, not insurance, however, it was too confusing for them. A couple days later, after speaking with the supervising receptionist, that situation was clarified. The next time I saw the young, blond receptionist, they seemed to have everything figured out and was helpful (although I’m not sure how much of that was the supervisor behind the scenes). Now yesterday, I came in with my other pet for an annual visit. I expressed some concern to the doc about small dogs sensitivity to the vaccine that they wanted to give. They suggested that I could have given my pup Benadryl pre-appointment, however, since that didn’t happen, they could give our pup a Benadryl shot before hand, to avoid a reaction and just wait 20 min to give the vaccine. When I got the bill ($400 for annual exam), I noticed that the Benadryl was $37.50. As I was walking out the door, I stated "Wow, the Benadryl shot was $37.50?!", to which the receptionist responded curtly "YES. Those are our costs." I turned around and said "I understand, it just would have been nice to know before they did it. Its ridiculous." and I walked out the door. Twenty minutes later, after the tech gave my pup the vaccination in my car, the receptionist came out and argued with me that they asked the doc, and doc confirmed that they had gone over the Benadryl shot with me. I told them that my issue was that I hadn’t been told the cost and was annoyed to the point where I asked them to step away from my car. They then said that I was rude to them and slammed the door in their face (apparently in the trailer where they were sitting ten feet away from me?) and said “Here are all your records” (indicating that I was terminated from being a client of the practice?). I couldn’t believe what had just happened! Within the past few weeks, we have spent over $6000 on vet bills, so I don’t want anyone to think that this is about $37.50.I used to walk into this practice and be greeted by friendly faces with great attitudes that had been there for years, some for decades. Both my pets and I felt comfortable with the high standard of care. The climate is different now. I was told yesterday, when my pet was being poked 7 times in an attempt to draw blood, that I wasn’t allowed to hold him because it would be a liability if he bit me. Liability over patient comfort and care. Not the techs fault. These policies are pushed from the top. This is not to say that I don’t like anyone there. There are some new faces that have been perfectly fine and I’m sure are good, well-intentioned people. There are also two shining stars that I would like to single out. One is Dawn, who bends over backwards, going to bat for the needs of the client, in a considerate and helpful way, always with a smile. The other is Doctor Larned, who was very knowledgeable, supportive, and compassionate, through an extremely sad and frustrating time when my pet was very ill. I will write another review for Herring Cove, in Provincetown based on my positive experience with them.I am hopeful that after reading this review, in conjunction with the last review, which I see was only written a week ago, where the client had a frighteningly similar reception experience, the upper management of this business, (that I will never recommend to anyone I know again) will get the hint that they need to make some serious changes. PS Writing boiler plate responses to peoples reviews, when they have legitimate concerns, is never going to “regain their trust”

I have been taking this guy to Eastham Vet for over 10 years. All techs, receptionists, and doctors have always been very professional, courteous, and caring. We credit Dr. Driscoll for saving his life. Whether he was really that sick or not, it was right before my now husband and I were to be married. They got us in, she evaluated him, we took her suggestion and ended up changing his food/treat sources…..he will be 17 on Nov 1. Highly recommend this vet.

Thanks for taking such great care of Sunni when she went to get spayed and chipped. Surgery went very well and the office staff couldn’t have been any nicer. So grateful that we’re able to go inside with our furry friends to make it less stressful as possible. Thanks again!

Couldn’t be happier with the staff at Eastham Veterinary Hospital. We called as a new patient for our 13 year old Pomeranian and they saw us 2 days later. She doesn’t typically like people touching her and Foxy trusted everyone there instantly. I couldn’t recommend them more. Here’s a picture of her a day after her visit already feeling more chipper and ready to eat her new food formula we purchased there.

The kindest staffyou could ever meet. Recently our familey had to put our dog Maggie to rest. Such a hard process but with such an empathetic staff and kind doctor, who let us take as much time as we needed. Never an easy process we were very happy Maggie had her last time with us here

Thanks Jennifer Colton Hospital Manager for Herring Cove and Eastham Veterinary Hospital. If you did not fire me as a customer I would not have found the best veterinary service on Cape Cod Brewster animal Hospital, after being a customer of yours for close to 25 years for 3 dogs and 2 cats. Since this new company has taken over and you have arrived both office have lost good vets and office help. So I complain about the service or should I say not service and how you never answer the phones or emails and you fire me as a customer. Dr. Jay you need to leave this place and reopen your own practice so your good name is not associated with this place. Folks if you want to go to see a great vet go to Brewster animal Hospital the staff the vets they are great. Don’t trust your animals treatment to Eastham veterinary Hospital or Herring Cove because if you complain they will fire you as a customer. My termination letter😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 so as of now I’ve already got eight customers of East ham Veterinary to leave them and go to another vet, Brewster animal hospital you people are crazy if you allow these people to treat your animals I will continue to get people to leave there and go to a better vet. So for those people that say, their dogs and cats are their babies and you’re still letting Eastham Veterinary treat them. You must not love them as you say you do.

I have been using the grooming services for nails and bathing of my rescue dog Dali. She came to us frightened and shy. I am very happy to see her wagging her tail and happily walking with the technician as if she is going to see her friends. I also bring her there for her annual exams and shots.

Absolutely worst experience with a vet I have ever had. From loosing our dogs bloodwork to not putting notes in so the other vets know to refusal to be helpful in anyway. I recommend never bringing your pet here

Eastham Veterinary Hospital is a wonderful place. The doctors, techs, and staff are professional, kind, extremely talented, and go to great lengths to help their clients and their pets comfortable and well and happy. I am so grateful for the expert care they give to our four Westies.

I hadn’t been in a couple years and have such a fondness for this place as I was a client of its first owner, many years ago!My visit this time was quite wonderful. From the receptionist to the vet , everyone was kind and genuinely interested in my cat.The vet was thorough and took her time with Mr C, who had an ear infection.A really positive experience for me and Mr C, who took a shine to the vet, and who is feeling much better !

The front desk staff took their time to understand what was wrong with my dog, and were extremely professional as well as kind and reassuring. They said, “I’m really sorry that you’re going through this and we’re looking forward to taking care of your dog,” as we got off the phone. The nursing staff and doctor that attended my pet were also so friendly, reassuring, and professional. The doctor called to explain everything, including her reasoning, in depth during the visit. They’ve created such an amazing streamlined covid-safe process. Highly recommend for your pet if you’re in search of a great team of caring professionals!

Our pet had an issue and was fitted into the schedule that day and the following week when issue persisted again before her scheduled follow up appointment. She responded well to the staff who are very attentive and caring. They seem very organized and have a well tuned system to continue providing service during this pandemic..

We have used Eastham Veterinary Hospital since we moved here. We have found them to be proficient, efficient and readily available. Today I was able to get an appointment scheduled for only an hour after I called. Pandemic measures have you waiting in your car. Dr. Colleen Barrett and technician Sarah were so helpful and answered all our questions. I place my dog's health in their hands with good reason.

It was so nice to be allowed to come inside and actually be with my dog for her checkup and vacations. This was our first time at this office, the P’town vets had no availability. The office and examination room were both very clean and well air conditioned. We had almost no wait till we went into an exam room, the vet tech took our information and confirmed that we were having done. The veterinarian came in very shortly after and took time to let our dog get acquainted with her before beginning the exam. Our dog wasn’t stressed at all and her vaccinations were done before we knew it. We will be back to Eastham for all further veterinary needs.

We were visiting from out of town and my dog needed to see the vet. These folks were friendly and professional, and took the time to contact my usual vet to get old records. The doctor we saw took the time to get to know my dog and gave her a full exam in addition to addressing my concerns. Everyone there loves animals and takes a lot of pride in their work. I hope we don't have another reason for an emergency vet visit, but I'm so I had someplace like this to go this time!Thank you!

We are very happy with our Vet, Dr. Kelly Preston, who cares for our Westie, Wendy. She recommended us to Eastham Veterinary Hospital to have a tooth problem resolved. Eastham provided us, prior to our arrival for treatment, with a written estimate and description of the possible necessary procedures to be performed. Wendy was well taken care of and her situation was not as dire as could have been; she got a thorough evaluation and proactive treatment. The bill was much less than we anticipated and most importantly, Wendy came home that afternoon and this morning is back to her normal happy self. We would highly recommend Eastham Veterinary Hospital to friends, family, and anyone needing their services.

I am sorry, but I am compelled to say something here. We were charged over $1300 for a simple female dog spaying and microchipping here (microchipping a mere $54.58). This is nearly 3X any average I could find. I am sure everyone there is nice and all, but come on.....$1300??? I am not a vet but question whether some of the many meds given to our dog were even necessary. The procedure itself was billed $662.50. Does anyone looking at this (even vets) believe this is a reasonable charge? With fees like this it is no wonder why people opt not to neuter or spay their animals. Again, sorry....but $1300 is highly unreasonable. So thank you for taking the time to respond, but:1) Spaying our dog was not a difficult choice or process. We have had this procedure done before on our other pets, but never for anything close to what you charged us.2) Transparent, maybe.....you showed my wife the "estimated" charges the morning of the procedure. What was she supposed to say, "sorry, we'll go someplace else "? Where else was she supposed to go? You have an essential monopoly on the Cape and are takinging full advantage of that. Bravo.3) Want to earn back my trust? Take a step back and look at what you are charging people. Everyone is entitled to make a profit on their business, but fair is fair. Be reasonable and don't gouge people on stuff like this. Then you will not need to ask how you can earn back anyone's trust. My only hope is someone will read this before they go there and choose ahead of time to look elsewhere.

Note: This is the same review I posted for the PTown location - I am posting it here as well, just to give people a heads up that both locations are not what they used to be.***They, and their sister clinic in Eastham, used to be wonderful.Unfortunately, they were bought out by some big company, who changed all their policies, fees, and rules, and not for the better. My parents and I brought all our pets to both locations for many years, butI would avoid them now if you have a choice.I have heard that much of the original staff and veterinarians have left, and the vet who I was assigned to use the last time I was at the Eastham location, in place of our regular veterinarian, was not good, and gave very bad advice, which luckily I did not follow. It all makes me very sad.

Update: an enthusiastic 5 star review was written before practice was sold and most of staff left. I had been utilizing the wonderful services at Eastham Vet since moving to the Cape in 2011. At that time, all (desk staff, techs, and doctors) were knowledgeable, kind, dedicated, caring, and compassionate in the various facets of their roles, obviously loving what they did. In mid-2020 practice was sold, most of the wonderful staff left, and I chose to leave as well.

Overall Rating 10+, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, Two Thumbs Up, 👍👍, Four Paws Up, and one very happy dog and man 😁🐶❤Well nobody wants to visit an animal hospital for an emergency that's for sure. This was the second time I needed to go here with my 13 year old Boston Terrier, Otis. The 1st visit two years ago was for a planned ultrasound but this time it was a Sunday night driving two and a half hours from Provincetown for an emergency. That night the entire staff from front desk to the doctors to the person I checked out with were all truly concerned about his care, and mine as well. There wasn't absolute certainty regarding his condition but most likely a brain tumor or swelling of the brain due to several possible conditions, none of which was good and all most likely untreatable. I seriously considered having him put to sleep 😥 wich is something I have never had to consider before. The Dr. was compassionate and explained his condition very well and really took the time to answer all my questions and discuss possible outcomes. Because he was not in pain I decided to give it one more day for an MRI, tests and an exam and evaluation from the neurologist. They were very open in letting me know the cost, and yes it was expensive, and also explained from the info they had at this time it was unlikely to lead to an outcome very different from what we had discussed. I still felt like I needed to know for certain even if there was only a 2% chance it would be any different. I left him there for the night and walked out in tears.Well, Otis and I both got very lucky ! I received a call the next morning from Dr. Devin Berthiaume prior to the MRI saying he thought there was a remote possibility it could be something else and if so would need to make a decision in a few hours as to whether to have spinal surgery for him. He also let me know an estimate for cost if so.Long story (a little shorter) that afternoon I walked out with a smile not tears, and Otis would be coming home the next day.Dr. Berthiaume was excellent, as was the Dr. (so sorry I forgot her name) the day before. They were compassionate, professional and caring. They were very open with explaining all possible costs for each step and I never once felt pressured into a decision. On the contrary, due to the costs they were very reassuring that if I made the decision to have him euthanized it would be very reasonable decision, absolutely no guilt. As an added plus Dr. Berthiaume called me the following night and again within a week to simply follow up on how we were doing. Thank you Devin !Overall Rating 10+, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, Two Thumbs Up, 👍👍, Four Paws Up, and one ver happy dog and man 😁🐶❤
