I've been coming here since 2007. It was brand new. I live across the street very convenient. Before they closed it a few years back to "remodel". That's when things went downhill. They made the checkout lines confusing. Noone knows where the line starts. They have a huge selection of dog and cat food that isn't needed. Now there are racks of cheap clothes that wasn't there before the remodel. It's a unorganized mess. The price scanners don't work. It's like they went backwards. The pool selection that they used to have every summer is not there anymore. I have seem mice in the store. I wouldn't buy food from there.

This is the worst store in the boston area. Hire a real manager so they can run this place for real ,The employees are rude an It's not uncommon to see a rat or mouse but my main issue is ...if the business hours are posted you close at 9pm please stay open until then. Why close a hour early so staff can leave at 845PM. Meanwhile people are pulling up begging to buy Pampers and milk, Fussing with staff about why they have closed before the posted business hours. Fire management an start over . I'll be posting videos of the countless people who are turned away when they shouldn't be . Stay tuned ..guess I'm hoping someone sees this and can relate lets put them on blast an expose the nonsense .

Extremely miserable staff. I went in there with my reusable bags they told me I had to leave them behind the counter. I told them i would not leave them, they were empty and showed them. Then while shopping i grabbed more than i went in for and there wasn't a shopping basket available and a cart would not have made it through the congested aisles so I made it easier to carry by putting the products in the bags. I walked up to the register and the cashier was rude saying this is why you leave your bags behind the register. You can not fill your bags as you shop. you can not accuse me of stealing when I never stole anything if i walked to the register. Disgusting attitude. I emailed cooperate office as well as attorney general.

Unorganized any very messy...always a long line cause they only have one register open..and the guy at the door is very disrespectful and scary...SMH now they don't load any gifts cards but they sell them what's the point of selling something you can't load money on

They are locking people inside with a gate. I don't know why. It looks like a prison. People shopping and a locked gate on the door. It was only 3 pm. They sell rotten food as well

2021 I have lived across the street for 14 years and have been coming to is location ever since it first opened They closed for a year to remodel". IT WAS BETTER BEFORE. The STORE SMELLS like dead animal now. I've seen mice. I wouldn't purchase food from there. It's not organized. The checkout lines are confusing. Pet products that no one buys and racks of clothes. The prices are still great and the brand names are awesome! The do try and charge higher prices for cosmetics and toiletries that are in demand.

Customer Service does now exist in this store.While checking out at the register the cashier was on the phone the entire time. I asked him a question and he told me to wait he"s on the phone with his school.

This is the worst Family Dollar! When I go in there I automatically get accused of stealing, even getting yelled at by staff. When I walk thru the aisles I'm followed and when I leave they always say check the cameras. But when I go with a friend whose Haitian or Hispanic I don't get treated that way

I'm am a regular customer, but for several months the store has been looking like a tornado struck it. The mechandise is scattered on the floor and against the wall. It appears that they don't have enough help to stock the shelves. Does this location have a manager?

This is not the first time I came to this Family Dollar and it was not open when it was suppose to be. It was suppose to open at 7 am and its a whole hour later and still it is close. I asked one of the employees that came out the gate and I asked him when will they be open and he said he dont know and close the gate on me. I have witness atleast 2 more employees walk in the doors and just close the gate after them even though THEY ARE A WHOLE HOUR LATE plus more opening the store. UNACCEPTABLE

Usually I dont like to rate and write reviews, but this case I feel that I must so that it may help other customers in their decision on where to shop.I have come to shop here in this Family Dollar store several times in the past couple of months but lately in the last 3 times that I've shopped here, I've found that the cashiers to be quite RUDE to customers when it's time to cash-out especially when it's getting close to closing time. They start locking the door at 15 minutes BEFORE closing time and start RUSHING the customers to HURRY UP and saying that the store is CLOSED at 10 minutes BEFORE the actual time to close. When you reach the registers with your stuff to pay at about 5 minutes before the hour to close, you get from the person at the register some "remarks" saying that they're getting their "system" closed and showing some really "UNFRIENDLY" faces.This might be the LAST TIME that I would shop at this Family Dollar store,..unless there is an "EMERGENCY" and no other store is open for miles that I would go in there to shop for anything.I feel that someone from the "cooperate" Familly Dollar should really look close at the employees practices done at the last 20 to 15 minutes before closing time done in this Family Dollar store at 995 Blue Hill Ave. Dorchester, Ma. Doing it this way, it can only hurt business.

How does it say it close at 10 but the always lock there doors before 10pm and have that big scary looking body guard at the door turning everyone away before 10pm if you guys aren't really open till 10 then maybe you all would like to change that from the internet and the signs you have all over the door I should be able to go there at 9:55 and be able to get it not come to a lock door before 10pm such a big inconvenience

Do not shop at family dollar at 993 Blue Hill Ave. Manager is a young thug and likes to threaten customers who complain about lack of customer service and long lines. Will never shop here again. Why so many problems????

As you know Family Dollar being around for a little bit they provided with nice house cleaning products their basic supplies you could get to clean your house and no bathrooms and stuff like that great prices great customer service open 7 days a week spray to go there check it out
