Brought my cat Molly in on a Saturday. They got her in right away to be assessed. They provided clear communication on how she was doing, what the plan was and what the costs were. My heart dropped when I heard where the price point was at for the planned care. However when I told them I just couldn't afford the suggested round of treatment, they were VERY understanding and worked with me to lower the bill without compromising care for Molly. Staff was very kind and understanding! In an emergency, I would absolutely go here again!

I brought my cat in for a nail that had grown into her paw pad. The receptionist got me set up right away and was really nice. A vet tech came out to make sure all my info was correct and let me know about the base price right off the bat. I didn't have to wait long at all, they took my baby into the exam room and they were in touch with my every step of the way. My cat is old and cranky but they handled her very well. They not only removed her ingrown nail, they cut all the other ones too. In 18 years I've never been able to even look at my cat's back feet without her threatening gaze. I'm so impressed. The whole place was super clean and had a nice atmosphere. They were so patient with my baby. They sat with me an answered my questions and they were very personable and didn't rush me even though it's an actual emergency room. This place is 45 minutes from me but it was well worth it. I couldn't be happier.

!!! BEWARE DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE !!!Kobe was brought to you on Tuesday 04/16/24 needing emergencycare and died Saturday 04/20/24 because you sent him home.He was diagnosed with an enlarged prostate and you drained1200ML of urine clearly already obstructed but my son was NOT TOLD IT WAS AN EMERGENCY.. !!! and he should find immediate care. He was told to SCHEDULE a neutering as soon as possible because nobody at the ER Hospital was able to do it. You must be aware it is not possible to get an immediate appt.for neutering and Kobe would have to wait a month !He did not have a month because his bladder ruptured before he got to the ER facility that could have treated him if he had gone there FIRST ..!!Not only did you send him home but my son called back to ask if it was needed immediately because he was still having trouble urinating and AGAIN was told schedule it as soon as possible,I am trying to understand why it was not relayed that this was dire and he needed immediate attention which is why he was brought to your facility in the first place..My son is very distraught that he did not get him care in time but he did.. !! How was he suppose to know an ER facility would not be able to provide appropriate care and when he was told just make an appt for neutering he TRUSTED your opinion that it was not an EMERGENCY ,.. !! THANK GOODNESS HE HAD MORE SENSE THAN YOU and got him to a second facility but due to wasting time at thousands of dollars.. it was to LATE..I HOPE THIS SITS WITH YOU AS LONG AS YOU PRACTICE AND ANOTHER DOG NEVER HAS TO SUFFER BECAUSE OF YOU.DO NOT REACH OUT TO THE OWNER OF KOBE..HE IS TRYING TO HEAL FROM THIS TRAGEDY THAT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED... ! !!****AMAZING**** UPDATE…Someone posted a 5 star review 1 day after me and the owner’s posted a response within hours…They didn’t have the courage and respect to respond to our detailed tragic review..I hope Kobe’s Image will be flashing in there heads on who ever mis diagnosed KobeYes I am TALKING about YOU…!!!!!****AMAZING** UPDATE….#2We don’t even get a condolence from you people…! !!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had 2 different times where I've brought my dogs in to them in critical condition. Both of them right at the edge of death. Both of them flat lining as I walked into the er. The staff, both times, were extremely fast to respond and extremely good at what they do. They were able to save both of my dogs. Everyone was extremely helpful and very good at communicating what was going on. The second time I went in, times were tough and I didn't have that much money. They worked out a payment plan with me. I'm beyond pleased with this hospital

I was able to get in with my Zoe very quickly as she was having congestive heart failure. They were awesome. Great care! They always kept me updated. Highly recommend them!

First off, the entire team at VESH is amazing. Clear, compassionate, and responsive communication. What to expect for cost of treatment is communicated clearly and they work well with insurance (I have Trupanion). But most importantly: I can trust my dog will be well taken care of in the unfortunate event that we need to visit.I have an excited reactive dog who really struggles with staying under threshold around new people and other animals. So vet lobbies are generally a nightmare for us -- especially in emergencies. I'm not sure when this practice started, but I was able to wait in the car with my dog till the team was ready for us with a buzzer to alert us to come in so we didn't have issues with stressful dog to dog interactions in the lobby.Not only that, but if you advocate for your pet's needs the team at VESH listens so attentively and follows through on suggestions when they are able. Throughout my dog's surgery (from consult to post-op care), the team did what they could to support my reactive girl in staying under threshold. From not making eye contact, to talking softly, to limiting touch. I've really never had such a stress-free experience during a stressful time with my girl.I've only had to come once or twice (thank goodness), but each time I've felt that the experience was great.

We recently had to bring our puppy, Greta, to the Deerfield Vet Emergency Hospital. Both Dr. Sullivans were efficient, thorough and honest with her care. They were very informative regarding the situation, kind and compassionate. I would highly recommend this facility. Thank you doctors for your best efforts.

What a wonderful experience. Out of the many emergency vet’s we’ve been to over the years these guys were the best. They kept in constant contact with us and took wonderful care of our ailing puppy.I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Dr. Benson and his team are fantastic! Our younger wheaten had surgery to repair a luxating patella back in January, and Dr. Benson and his team were really great at explaining what was going on with our dog during our initial visit and how they were going to repair her problem. After her surgery, we were given detailed post-surgery instructions that they thoroughly explained to us. They are very attentive and they take the time to answer our questions during our visits. Our girl is just about recovered from her surgery, and we are so happy with the way she has been healing. Thank you, Dr. Benson and team!

My dog recently had emergency surgery. The doctors and staff were all lovely, compassionate, and clearly experts in their field. They were wonderful to the dog -- and her human -- and saved her life. Communication was clear about the prognosis and treatment - and they were kind about the decisions regarding financial pieces of the care.

Waited 8 hours while my cat was confined to her kennel gagging and vomiting and sitting in her filth. When she went in, they said she wasn’t symptomatic, but to let them know if things changed. I let them know and they saw it with their own eyes, but they cleared the ER in 8 hours time as we were still waiting. Then I was hit with an $850 bill which I paid on the spot, only to receive an invoice in my email with a demand for payment after the fact. I responded that the invoice was paid at the time services were rendered. No response or apology. Avoid this place if you can.

Came in last night around 11:30 to get porcupine quills removed from my dogs mouth area. The vet was able to safely remove them and I was in and out within 20 minutes. Everyone there was so friendly and compassionate, which made this unfortunate situation so much easier. We are very thankful to have his sweet face back.

Bringing your pup to the ER is incredibly stressful... At S. Deerfield we could not have felt more at ease. They were so generous with their time and understanding. I called multiple times to check on my pet and each time was given a comprehensive review of her current state. I understood at every moment what our options were and we were given time to process and decide. It's never an easy appt due to the nature of most visits but S. Deerfield does their best to make it as painless as possible.

My 16 year old dog was seen a few days ago at VESH and it was a very positive experience. This is probably the 6-7th time we've gone over the years with our pets. There was no wait; the care was excellent; the doctor explained things clearly and kindly; and we were treated with compassion and respect. Our dog was kept comfortable and given excellent treatment. The cost was actually a little less than expected. I am grateful we have this resource.

I posted this on their website but I know it’s all about the google review…I’m so grateful for the compassion and care from the team at VESH Deerfield. One of my senior chihuahuas was accidentally injured by a foster dog while I was working night shift. I live in Belchertown and the closest emergency vet was VESH. I called and whoever I spoke to could hear my panic and said just bring him right in. They asked his name which was important.Chico died about 10 min from the hospital. I brought him in anyway and said he didn’t make it. They said “is this Chico?” - and it was just so personal and I appreciated that. I wanted to have him cremated and they put me right in a room to get me out of the lobby and took care of payment etc from the room which was so thoughtful.When I came to pick up his ashes they were brought out in person rather than handed through the window, and condolences were again expressed. I also received a card in the mail. I was so distraught I don’t remember the names of the lovely women who were working the morning of January 24th. Or the name of the angel who walked Chico’s ashes out to me. But they were all so caring. It’s a very busy place but the staff handles it all with compassion and grace. Thank you again.I’m posting all these pics of Chico because it’s cathartic and in case the staff sees this they will see how the amazing Chico appeared in life.

VESH went above and beyond for my dog, fitting her in for a diagnostic assessment that ultimately provided crucial information. The staff was polite and considerate and went the extra mile, letting me use a room to lay with my dog, who had been there for quite a long time while tests were being run. They were committed to getting an answer and giving us some direction as we continue to work out treatment now that we have some answers. I can't recommend them and their care enough.

My dog and a porcupine tussled; dog ended up with a mouthful of quills. This vet hospital took him right away, and in two hours he was good as new. They are very professional, communicative, and caring. Highly recommend them!

From the minute I walked in. The staff was attentive and caring. They assessed my pet, asked questions about what brought me there and kept me informed every step of his care. The Dr listened, gave me plenty of time to share a bit of history and my concerns. The team here is top notch. I always felt my pet was in the best hands and was getting superb care. DONT GO HERE!!!!! READ THE "LOWEST" REVIEWS!! HEART BREAKING!!GO TO CT OR TUFTS!!MONEY HUNGRY - DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR PET they'll ask you for emergency do you approve 500-800? You'll say yes and then they'll pull you in a room to tell you it 1k-10k oh and your animal is dieing now, even though they were just fine....👀They'll offer you euthanization- for another $1,500🤣While they are one of the only emergency Vet, they kinda suck. And unreasonably expensive for bare minimum care. Brought my dog in for a hematoma on her ear. It took 5 hrs, and then they tell me she's ready ... For me to sit there for another 45 min. And she came out covered in blood.ALSO, the vet tech that gave me my dogs meds told me the wrong directions for the medication, gave me absolutely zero after care information, oh and charged me $1,000 for this b.s.I had to bring her to our normal vet a few days later to drain it AGAIN, which we weren't told this is VERY common btw. But how it was only $78 with new meds? It literally cost me $900 more to go here. WILD.And they didn't even wrap her ear up correctly, hence another reason it filled back up🙄If it's your only option and you got the money I guess go, but if you can. Just wait. Or go to CT or TUFTS!!!

Excellent communication. We were seen quickly, the vet conducted a very thorough intake and we were told what to expect at each step. We received results and a treatment plan quickly and the medications were explained well. We felt that the staff was professional and efficient. Our sweet boy is doing so much better on the prescribed treatment. Very grateful this service exists. Thank you VESH!

The Deerfield MA Veterinary Emergency Hospital was very professional. Our Golden Retriever had a health emergency and the veterinary hospital was able to take him in right away on a late Friday evening. The staff was very compassionate towards our situation. They were able to help with our dog’s health emergency right away. They kept him overnight to make sure he was going to be ok, then followed up after we brought him home to make sure he was still doing well. Despite the nature of the issue, the team in Deerfield MA was very accommodating to our needs in a very stressful situation. My hats off to the team and we are very much appreciative for the help they provided our pet (family member).

Went in panick stricken because my poor fur baby got her bottom jaw stuck in a marrow bone. She was terrified. They took her back right away and came out less than 5 minutes to let us know they got it off with a simple maneuver! I was so relieved and my pup came out smiling and happy. Thank you so much!! I was very happy with the service I received when I brought my cat to VESH after he ate part of a pool noodle that he didn't throw up or pass ,he was lethargic, not eating etc. I was happy I only had to drive 30 minutesand not the 1 hr and 45 minutes to the animal ER my vet suggested. It's nice to have an animal ER so close. They kept me informed and gave me an option for them to try before going right to surgery which thankfully worked! Everyone I dealt with was pleasant and helpful. They also sent a copy of the paperwork on what they dud to my vet. When you go to an emergency ER for your pet realize it's just like a human ER lots of waiting time once they take your pet. The only thing I felt took too long was when we were told at 4:30 pm to be there between 6:30 and 7 pm, got there at 7 to pick up our cat but it was after 9 before we met with someone to go over what was done. In defense, they did have several injured dogs come in during that time but, perhaps they could designate 1 person to do releases. In spite of that, I would definitely use them again- but hope to never have too- and would recommend them!

Even though we arrived in the evening, the wait time was minimal for my pup to be seen. The staff checked in with us and made sure that we were updated at each step of the process. My dog was treated with love and kindness and we were treated relatively quickly and sent home with meds. Overall, a great experience.

The Vets, Techs and Admin staff at VESH are incredibly wonderful folks. (pic is of the feral cat mama and her babies before they got sick) they took care of the kitten I rescued that got an infected eye wonderfully. We truly appreciate you folks for seeing us on short notice, calling us back, being compassionate, and explaining things fully so we understand. Thank goodness for you all! *Once Pearl the kitten I rescued looks better, I'll update this picture if I can. But this is her and her siblings before we had issues. THANK YOU ALL!! <3

The technician and veterinarian on duty were both so kind and took the time to really get to know me and my pet as well as explain what exactly was going on with his health.

We had an emergency with my golden retriever and I was very upset. They were kind, understanding and walked us through every step. Dr. Sullivan took the time to follow up with me in the morning and I am happy to say Finnley is on the mend. The professionalism and care was the best I have received.
