Great place to stay when in the area, awesome hiking trails nearby, dispensary across the street, Yankee candle ,historic deerfield, diner, zacks BBQ, and pizza spots.The staff here are always accommodating and ready to make your stay that much more comfortable. Jen the pups and I are always grateful for your excellent customer service and welcoming smile. Thanks to all of you that work hard at your jobs.

The hotel is decent. It was clean. I wish it had a little better soundproofing. My dog heard everything, and it was hard to keep her quiet at times. The pool was closed for repair, which was unfortunate since we had planned to swim. The price was reasonable and they didn't charge extra to bring a dog, which was nice. I would stay there again.

They are clean and comfortable. Very accessible, with the handicapped rooms having a good amount of space. The rooms are a little older and need a bit of maintenance. However, it keeps them affordable. Will see how long it takes the maintenance person to respond.Rooms: The rooms are well put together with newer amenities. There are plugs of every kind every where, it's fabulous. Very warm as well. Rooms and Hallways are without walking hazards and are easy for a walker.Noteworthy details: This hotel is very well located. Right off the highway and between Greenfield, Hadley, and Amherst! And next to Yankee Candle on route 5!

Horrible customer service! Specially Crystal!!! Was terrible. I showed up 25 min early on Christmas and she told me I would need to wait until 3pm or charged an extra $25 dollars. Parking lot was empty and I was told over the phone my room was ready at 12pm. AND THEN….. not eight minutes later Crystal proceeded to check in a guest before 3pm without outlining “the company policy”!!! She said she was new, I get it, but let’s be sensible with service vs. policy. Worst place in MA to stay. DON’t EVER COME Here!! Crystal will not help you. Not even on Christmas. If I were a manger that would be all I needed to see in o determine her future with Red Roof Inn

Now my 5 year old ask if the tub is rusty in every hotel we stay in after our two nights here. Room was dirty and the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything. I guess we were some of the more lucky ones after hearing stories from other guest while we were there. Staff was okay and tried there best considering what they had to work with. Definitely not worth $300 a night or a third of that.

The hotel staff is friendly and dogs can stay free . Everything is clean and warm . The goodie box adds extra comfort . Most comfortable bed and pillows and the pool is so warm like tropical island. They have massage chairs and video games and close to so many activities and food options like the tree house brewery yankee candle and shopping malls . It is right off the hallway . I will come here again and again and recommend my family and friends to come here as well. My favorite places to eat : wolfies - wolfie burger. Champneys - good spirits and beer and small plates-holiday pizza for pizza and grinders . Hillside pizza and Asian cuisine . So many options

Our room was moldy and moist - a super gross combination! The whole weekend our clothes, our bedding, and even our dog’s fur was damp so we ended up leaving early. Mind you, this was with AC on! You could even see black mold growing on the walls and taste it in the air. I felt like if we stayed any longer we’d definitely get sick. For two nights the price was $500 - it’s not like this was a “value” option.

Mattresses were soft, 1 bed had squeaky spring. But we slept well and it was quiet with few guests on a sunday night. Pillows are nice but shorter then reg pillow size. Room was clean and sufficient. Our only complaint was the lack of enthusiasm from from the young lady who checked us in (5-14-23 evening). No smile, no warm welcome, she answered our questions, didn't go over board with responses, almost made us feel as if we were a bother to check us in. Definitely not the welcome we could expect even from a budget hotel. A smile goes a long ways to weary travelers.Nearby activities: Yankee candle, local eateries

The staff was very polite and rooms and pool were nice and clean. The only issue we had was that a very large group had taken over the entire common area and they were having a party. Extra tables had been set up for their food. This group also removed all of the chairs from the pool area. There wasn't one place that anyone could sit except in their room and the rooms only had one chair. This went on from the time we got there in the early afternoon until late at night. We ordered take out and we had nowhere to eat except on our beds and standing up. It would have been nice to eat together. We were with another couple. Maybe allow 1 or 2 hour increments of time to use that area so that other guests can have a place to eat rather than having to eat dinner on their bed or on the ironing board bc there isn't a table in the room. We were traveling with a handicapped person and the staff was aware of this situation. We won't be staying here again.

I've been staying here for years! Jennifer is always accommodating, maintenance staff is fantastic and most importantly they care about the customer. The grounds are well groomed ,lots of parking, family friendly, something for everyone.The room was extremely clean,updated amenities, slight flaws like missing screen and a fallen bathroom tile, it was a daycation not a permeanant residence. I was cool with it. So many yummy places to eat at various price points. Woods,nature, trails,fishing, Yankee candle if that's your thing all close by. So if in the area stay here. No breakfast but the indoor pool makes up for that. They do offer free coffee,tea and hot water. My go to place , have a great summer all of you at the red roof your regulars Rio and the gang.Nearby activities: Yankee candle,my sugarloafSafety: Well lit, police patrollingWalkability: Sidewalk

The room was “disgusting” said by the front desk clerk who came in to wipe the wet floors that had the towel covered in black dirt! I thought they were wet bc they had just been cleaned but nope-she said management told her to keep the windows shut and ac on to prevent the wet floor. We would have had to keep our shoes on the entire time it was that bad. Room smelled like the doors or windows havent been opened in 20 years. Asked if we could switch rooms and she said there was no availability. We left and went to another hotel. Yellow smoke detector covered in gunk and dead bugs. Can provide photos as well. Just ewww.

Entered this hotel knowing full well that it is a “value hotel”, and I admit that the price was right for me. Due to inflation and the fact that my weekend was attached to a holiday I couldn’t afford to stay at my usual hotels in nearby Northampton and Holyoke.The hotel itself was nice and clean. I liked the fact that they had a little area outside the pool where I could gather with my friends and chat. As a girl who lives in cramped NY, the rooms were certainly spacious and there was plenty of space for parking. The hotel was also right off the highway sandwiched between a gas station with a life-saving Dunkin Donuts inside on one end and the Yankee Candle Factory on the other end.But for all of those good points I will never…. EVER….. (insert bold and italic) EVEERRRR recommend this hotel to even my own worst enemy. Why? THE BEDS!!!! Three absolutely torturous night in these beds!!!I don’t quite know what the exact problem is with the beds. Don’t get me wrong the linens were nice and clean. But MY GOD, when I wake up at 2am to go to the bathroom I don’t want to feel like I’m 92 years old hunched over and limping because everyone limb and bone in my body from head to toe aches because of the mattress I’m sleeping on! And it wasn’t just my mattress in my room I had two friends in separate rooms who had the same issues I did!Now I know why they make you pay for your stay upfront because if you’re there for multiple nights you are locked in with no escape.For your own lives. Your own sanity. Take it from me: if you’re only there for one night and you just need a place to crash then Godspeed and deal with it. If you’re looking for more than one night then do whatever you need to do to avoid staying at this hotel at all costs.

Mattress not comfortable, but pillows are nice with a choice of soft, medium and firm. Tub had a rust stain. Chair in room was so uncomfortable! The pool was popular and very warm. Our group was meeting outside the pool area which was thoroughly cleaned (I watched) after a birthday party. Lots of cigarette butts outside the door near the vending area. Trashy outside. Vending area floor was dirty. Floor from vending to the side door had dirt and some blood(!) on it! Busy place!

Red roof PLUS in has created the best memories in my whole life. These five nights were the most amount of trauma bonding ever in only 5 long days. When we went to check in to our hotel room we found hair on our pillowcases, I thought I could make a wig. There were blood stains too, but aside from that, the pillows were very comfortable. The pillows were labeled incorrectly having the soft pillows in the hard cases and the hard pillows in the soft cases. After a long night, we decided to sleep and, to be completely honest, I've never slept better. Later that day, I was showering and found brown stains on the towels, which were quickly replaced once we asked for clean ones. The lady at the front desk was very kind and diligent. We asked many times for coins to use the hotel's vending machine and she generously provided us with them. Our key card for the room was not working multiple times, but she provided us with many key cards to try out.On our second day of stay, I went to the bathroom and took a quick shower. I later realized that the toilet was overflowing and didn't end up flushing. I called my friend to inform the front desk to come and fix the toilet. The lady came promptly into the bathroom but didn't realize I was still showering. She started plunging into the toilet as I was still showering. Fortunately, for the rest of the days of our stay, we made it more like home. We slowly accepted the bad things, and we had a wonderful stay. The motel is located on the side of a dark street, but there is a Dunkin across the highway at a gas station which was very yummy.... if you don't mind a bit of a walk ;) Overall, this was an authentic and memorable experience and I would want to thank the staff for trying hard as possible to be prompt and fix all our issues. If you want a true experience that represents Deerfield and the state of Massachusetts, this is the place to be.
