It was a pretty nice fly shop. Lots of stuff. Mostly a trout tying fly shop. I catch the owner right before it close on a rain Saturday and he hung out didn't pressure me at all to leave. Overall check it out if you in the area.

Great help and super friendly service, lots of fly tying materials and great quality flies. I stopped in two days in a row (because I forgot half of what I wanted the first time) and both times I received a lot of great help regardless of how many basic beginner questions I asked and even got help on a saltwater fishing trip I'll be going on later. I feel like I could even stop in there and get tips on fly fishing Mars if I needed. There's even a nice dog there to keep my non-fishing partner interested. Top quality shop!

The exceptional reputation is well deserved. Coming from outside of New England, it was hard for me to get back to flyfishing. Here I got some great advice on which flies work and where and was able to get a full starter pack for very reasonable price. I will be back for more guidance and to refill on flies.

Great experience at the Deerfield Fly Shop in Deerfield, MA! The owner was super nice and down to earth. There was no pressure to buy anything (although I did!). Looking forward to lessons come the spring time. Even my boyfriend who has been fly fishing for years is going to take a few lessons as well! Thank you so much!

So lucky to have them! Deerfield fly shop has just about anything you will need to fish our area, and a good selection of fly tying gear. The guys at the shop are always helpful and make it comfortable for beginners to experts. They have TONS of flies and highlight hot patterns for our area. They can guide you through the world of fly fishing, help you find a spot, loan you a rod to try and even book a guided trip. Next week I will join a group for a casting clinic and look forward to fly tying classes this winter. Highly recommend you stop in and support this shop! The internet will never provide this level of service.

Deerfield Fly Shop is a wonderful store and a valuable asset for the Western MA fly fishing community. Everyone on staff is friendly, knowledgeable & welcoming to novices and more experienced folks alike. They regularly host excellent courses and events for fly tying, conservation and education, and I have no doubt their guide services are likewise excellent. Highly recommended!

I did a last minute guided trip at the end of January with Mike (the owner), it was excellent! I wasn’t expecting to catch anything, just wanted to go out and explore a new area. Mike was very patient with me, showing me how to cast, untangling my line, and tying on new flies after losing a couple. He put me on fish and I ended up landing 4 nice sized trout. He provided all the equipment, flies, waders, ect. Mike is very knowledgeable, provided lunch with dessert, and easy to talk to. I had a blast!

I did a half day fly fishing lesson and a half day guided trip with Eric. I had a really great experience and I would highly recommend Eric to anyone who is interested in fly fishing. Eric is an excellent instructor - he is patient, responsible, professional and knowledgeable. After we finished the trip, Eric also sent me a really detailed 5-page notes summarizing our trips and takeaways. I was also able to catch two beautiful rainbow trout during my half day trip. I look forward to another trip with Eric in the future!
