Star Market is a pretty good market, with a varied selection of healthy foods AND all the others. It is important to note that there is competition close, the Wegmans Market on the other side of the state highway. The prices are lower here in comparison to some other Star Markets in the area, noticeably the one in Auburndale. Pay attention to their smartphone app and you may be able to understand the differences. An interesting factor is the proximity of other grocery stores.Freshness is really good, and their 10 AM pickup online ordering is pretty handy! Thanks for the wonderful service, Star Market!

The fresh produce, ready to eat area, big charcuterie area. The meat section is clean and neatly cut and operated. The small and medium size š display can be improved. These should not be cut into filets already because the flesh becomes dry or at least put mist system like they do on the veggies, else they don't look appetizing at all. The skin is what keeps the flesh moist and fresh. They should prepare the fish to order. The staff is friendly and helpful.

aisles blocked by empty carts. they NEVER HAVE LANES OPEN, the lights are on, but no one is there. they stand at the register and tell you the lane is closed. they'll leave 10 people in 2 lines with hundreds of dollars worth of food in their carts and then open a lane for 3 people that have 6 things between them that just walked up... regardless of how long the full carts have to wait.it's at least clean, and the fruit fly problem seems to have abated, for now anyway. i don't recommend.

My wife went to this Star market for grocery shopping on March 19, 2024 and had very bad experience with a lady who works at the customer service in the store. Right after paying for my wife's groceries, she found that the price for one item was not correct and asked a lady at the customer service for the incorrect price. The lady was behaving very rude and said like this was my wife's fault. My wife and I have lived in Brookline for about 24 years and this was first time to have such a bad experience. We are planning to not go to this Star market anymore.

Should go to the hot food section because they make incredible food. They have chefs who work there the people are nice but the food is incredible. You gotta try the chicken. Itās a habanero chicken eight piece chicken wings for like six bucks.

I had to leave a weekās worth of groceries because they donāt take Apple Pay. I didnāt have my physical card on me. The clerk asked if I was going to go get my physical card and come back, so she didnāt have to put it all away. I told her I wasnāt making a 15 minute trip to go get it without going somewhere else and she tried to shame me about it. I drove to Wegmans and Apple Pay worked great. Itās nearly 2024, people.

Update: 6-15-2022. Just purchased a few more steaks from this Star MArket location. AWESOME as usual! As mentioned before, this location has the best steaks I have ever purchased from a supermarket. No question about it. The very best. Please, guys, keep up the the fantastic work. I will be back in a few weeks for our July 4th cookout. I will likely purchase another 250-300 dollars worth of Porterhouses', Ribeyes and Fillets. This particular location is definitely one of the best Star Markets that I have ever been to. Kevin C. the store manager, does a great job making sure all of the departments are exceptionally well run and have fully stocked merchandise. Every time I come in here the store looks simply fabulous! The produce department is fully stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables. The deli is also fully stocked with delicious sandwiches and hot food. The meat department is equally fully stocked with plenty of delicious steaks. Their meat display case is absolutely awesome with some of the finest USDA grade meats you can find anywhere! I purchased a 32 ounce porterhouse here a few weeks ago and it was delicious! The bakery has among the finest muffins, cookies, chocolate eclairs and cakes you will find anywhere. The only downside here is that the Signature glazed donuts are too "hard" and not soft. The entire customer service team are thoughtful, friendly and very courteous, which makes for a splendid shopping experience. Thank you, Star Market and please, keep up the great team effort!

Huge, I went there for the first time the other day. Busy place. Huge selection of prepared food and tables chairs to eat. A sitting space with a sofa and chairs. It was nicer then whole foods. The selections are more affordable. A little something for everyone. Staff is friendly. I found it strange that the french fries products were in a totally different freezer section area then the Chicken nuggets and tenders etc. There is a small quaility control issue. We took a bag of oranges that where molding but besides that all the other produce looked perfect.

Star Market in Chestnut Hill is just a great grocery store. Everything is well stocked, the staff is so friendly, and the whole store is easy to navigate. One of the hidden treasures of this store are the foods that are made fresh to order and the hot and salad bar.You can get everything from pizza and wings to fresh soups and salads. My new favorite find is the ramen bar. You fill a bowl with fresh veggies, choose a protein (I chose tofu), let the chef know if you would rather have noodles or rice and what sauce you would like. The chef then cooks everything up over a hot flame and for about nine dollars, you have a hot, fresh and healthy lunch. It is wonderful and delicious. If you want a great shopping experience as well as fresh and tasty food finds, this Star Market is THE place.

The management needs to train the cashiers to properly ring up produce.Oftentimes, the cashiers would ring up procduce incorrectly, e.g. green cabbage as savoy cabbage, lime as avocado, etc. And the mistakes are, for some reason, always costing the customers more, never the other way.I shop here all the time, and I want to continue to do so, but if the management doesn't fix this issue, I'll need to go to the Wegmans down the road.

I live in the city but this is my go-to flower and balloon stop for all occassions. Not even the other Star Market stores in the area can compete. This location has such a huge and vast flower section. The double winded staircase is a show-stopper and hats off to the florists for doing such an incredible job decorating the area. Prices are comparable to all other supermarkets, but larger selection and more choices for balloons.

I recently visited the Star Market in Newton, and while it wasn't a terrible shopping experience, it also didn't leave a lasting impression on me. My visit to the store was a mix of posotives and negatives, resulting in an overall average rating.Let's start with the Pros. The store's location was convenient, and the parking situation was decent, making it relatively easy to access. Inside, the layout was relatively organized, and I could find most of the items I needed without too much trouble. The store was adequately stocked with a variety of products, and I appreciated the selection of some local and specialty items. However, there were a few areas that could use improvement. First and foremost, the store's cleanliness left something to be desired. Some aisles appeared a bit disheveled, and I noticed some spills that hadn't been promptly cleaned up. This gave the store a somewhat unkempt feel, which detracted from the overall shopping experience.Another aspect that didn't meet my expectations was the customer service. While I didn't encounter any rude staff members, I also didn't feel a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff seemed a bit indifferent and not particularly eager to assist customers. A little more friendliness and willingness to help would go a long way in enhancing the overall shopping experience.Additionally, I foumd that the pricing at Star Market was a bit on the higher side compared to some other grocery stores in the area. While I understand that convenience comes with a cost, I would have appreciated more competitive pricing, especially for everyday essentials.Furthermore, the selection of fresh produce seemed somewhat limited, and the quality of some items didn't meet my expectations. It would be great to see a greater emphasis on providing fresher and more diverse produce options for customers.Lastly, the checkout process was somewhat slow and inefficient. There weren't enough open registers to handle the number of customers, resulting in longer-than-desired wait times. This aspect could definitely use improvement to enhance customer satisfaction. In conclusion, my experience at the Star Market in Newton was average at best. While there were some positives, such as convenience and decent product selection, there were also several areas that need improvement, such as store cleanliness, customer service, pricing, and checkout efficiency. If you're in the area and looking for a nearby grocery store, Star Market might suffice, but there are likely better options available for a more satisfying shopping experience.

It's a grocery store, what more can you say. It does have a decent enough salad/lunch bar, but the real reason I am giving a review for this Star Market is the florist that is in the lobby.I used them for the table flower decorations for my daughter's wedding reception in Sept 2019, and they were fabulous. Exactly what my daughter was looking for. Classic, and simple settings.

This was our first time to Star Market. I really liked shopping here. It has the same items the other grocery stores have, but it seemed very well maintained, everything was displayed well. Some stores look like a war zone, but not this place. We don't have Star Market in Western Massachusetts, so we will stop here again often because we come to Boston a few times or more per month. Enjoy!!

Management really needs to train the cashers to greet customers. I've been coming here for 20 years, and it's always the same. No one says hi, and no thank yous. Maybe I should just go to Wegmans..

I never ever post a review. I normally keep things to myself and mind my business. This, I have to speak up about. There were 4 young men. Very kind young men with nice manners. The manger (old lady with a Karen haircut and white & grey hair) came around the corner and told the kids in my isle that they need to leave. Told them to stop circling the store. The cart they had was fine steaks and vegetables. Clearly there to get things for their parents and were doing absolutely nothing wrong. One of the kids pulled out his receipt for his Diet Coke. One kid opened his backpack (had a calculator and college books) and she said you need to leave before I call the police. Got loud, ignorant, rude. I have never seen something this bad. I am still all worked up. She was circling these kids and looking up and down. Why is she stereo typing? Because their young? 2 of color? Young and donāt know how to grocery shop so they circle? I love this star market and love all the other employees but I wonāt be shopping at a store with a manger that is that poor. Then had to nerve to shoulder bump me. So upset. No need to threaten the police and I RATHER THIS YOUNG KIDS SHOP THEN BE ON THE STREETS MAKE POOR CHOICE!!

I was amazed that Kevin, Manager of Star Market in Chestnut Hill, called me to explain that my pick up order was incomplete because of a misunderstanding and that he was correcting the problem. Also, he told me that since there were no packaged cold chicken wings in the case, he is cooking wings that will be included in my order, asked whether I wanted them hot or chilled, and that they were at no charge. This is truly amazing customer service. A manager who is hands on with a small pick up order. Kevin has CEO abilities and mindset.

I would suggest going only to experience such a large supermarket I can't tell you how many isles they have but I did get lost twice in one visit. Walking in You take an escalator up to the supermarket the ground floor is reserved for their floral shop which is just beautiful. It's a big area and they have some really good deals on the flowers. Heading upstairs on the escalator you are brought right to the prepared foods and produce area The prepared foods are just amazing so much choice The produce department, not so much. Particularly hard to find on the day I was there was a good orange they had such a bad selection. The store is a little pricier than most I think you will agree but let's face it it's in chestnut Hill but would you expect. And the customers will they're from Chestnut Hill too. Don't forget to check out the clearance racks over near the milk department they have a lot of interesting items there You have to look through everything to see if there's anything special you want because it's all just thrown in big pile on shelves but they have some great stuff there lastly let's talk about the staff while you're shopping It's very difficult sea staff which is okay cuz you don't really need them on your shopping you know how to shop but when you check out that's when they're really important and all I can tell you is there's this one gentleman I don't know his name but he wears glasses and is about 5'9 I think he's like a front-end manager super super helpful easy to talk to great sense of humor If you happen to bump into him then it's your lucky day cuz he knows what he's doing on the other hand some of the cashiers they're a little mechanical they're a little monotone they don't chat much if at all not the friendliest chit chat back and forth but how would you feel if you were just pulling items over a scanner all day They don't realize how important they are they should be happier because I certainly would like to see one of them than an open self checkout line which they also have lots of them - self checkouts up the Ying Yang. When you leave you have the option of putting your card on one of those cart conveyors that brings it down to the first floor or you can bring it over to the elevator typically you'll bring it over to the elevator because the thing that brings the carts down is often out of service It's a big elevator so you'll make friends on the way down overall I would give it a b+

It was huge clusterf*** in online order pick up, and we only had to wait a rediqulios amount time that is always cool. Normally, it's very good, so still 4 stars. And then again I was in there just now tonight and I was made to feel like a nuisance this this. I can just let go once but now I gotta do something and that is stop here no longer.

This has to be the best place to buy meat anywhere. Seriously. I don't buy ALL of my groceries here, but for chicken, steak and hamburger (the 3 most important things that I buy) there is no other place I would buy those items at. This particular supermarket has the best selection, quality and prices on those 3 meats that I've ever seen. No joke. This supermarket is a weapon in terms of that. For chips, milk, cups, plates, etc you buy those items anywhere...but for the meats (which are the most difficult to find and the easiest to go bad) this place is 2nd to none. I don't trust any other store for those 3 items. I don't even trust their other locations. This is THE place.

I went here last Thursday afternoon. The white bearded seller in the seafood section was very unkind. I spoke kindly, but the answer was unkind. I felt uncomfortable.By the way, the next buyer was white, and he turned surprisingly kind. Star markets must educate employees not to discriminate against racism.

This is one of my favorite places to grab lunch when Iām in the area. You can buy a dinner with one protein and two sides for about $10. It will probably be more than you can eat all at once. The best part is itās a fixed price not by the weight, so yes itās worth it!
