I have subscribed to the wellness plan at Banfield for my dog since we got him as a puppy. I really think it's the best, safest way to go to make sure your pet gets the care they need and still have it affordable to the owner. I originally went to the Chelmsford location because we owned a home on Lowell, but in 2021, I bought a house in Nashua, so now the Merrimack NH location is more convenient to me. I feel both places provided great care to my dog Chewy

front desk is extremely rude. I have worked for doctor offices before and have never heard of an office canceling your appt if you don't confirm prior and then book over it with another pet so you can't even come in to the appointment you ALREADY MADE. This is news to me and I don't have my voicemail set up so how should I have known this before the appt. When I show up to the appointment unknowingly the front desk is not even kind but already yelling at me and my dog and being apathetic. This is ridiculous and I will not be back. Not happy.

Horrible. My dog had a routine appt scheduled at 8am dog was never seen. When we called mid afternoon to see how much longer tech said doctor is in surgery and dog still is waiting. I find this unacceptable if vet had a surgery the techs should have called the pets owners telling them and giving them the option to reschedule, instead of having these poor animals stuck in a cage for hours on end. My husband went to pick up my dog half hour before closing and dog still wasn't seen. My husband told the tech in front this is unacceptable. Girl turned around and told him "to take the dog somewhere else then" extremely unprofessional. This location should be ashamed of this type of service. WILL NEVER BRING MY PETS HERE AGAIN.

People are nice. But the program as a whole is just a moneymaking machine they tried to upsell you at every appointment they try to sell you things you don't need.They charge you for the entire plan if you don't use it but you dont offer any discount if you don't use it.Tried to call and cancel because it's just not at all what we wanted and they won't let us out of the contract. Keep getting the runaround from corporate saying that store needs to do it. The store keeps giving me the runaround saying that corporate needs to do it. Nobody knows what's going on and everybody's just concerned about up selling not actually taking care of your pet.

Specifically, regarding Chelmsford. We can never get an appt. Last one, in 2021 we waited 45 minutes after getting in a room for the Vet. We go to Salem now, can get appointments and not a long wait past appt time. Having a different Vet every time is not the greatest experience either.

The woman at the desk of the Banfield hospital within petsmart in Chelmsford was extremely condescending to my partner. She corrected her on the pronunciation of a medication in a very rude way, and was speaking in the loudest tone of voice (before being considered yelling) I’ve ever heard before.

I tried to book an appointment for my dog yesterday because his usual hospital was kinda booked out for January, and what I hear was that in order for me to book an appointment, I must take him to be seen by a doctor before I can book an appointment LOOOOL. Even tho I’m a Banfield customer over 1 year, every record of my dog is available online, this BANFIELD location won’t take the dog before a doc sees him. I found it unbelievable and really stupid tbh. 2023 and they can’t read records online

This place has gone down hill. Noonw follows upAfter appointments. They never answer the phones and when you get to te desk there’s no admin. You literally have to wait at the desk until someone decides to come out.

We have a cat that is suffering and we want to help his pass as peacefully as possible. It will be devastating for us to lose Max, but that is overshadowed by this pet hospital's inability to respond to pet parents. He is an emergent rescue, adopted at the same PetSmart that Banfield is in inside the Chelmsford location. I have called repeatedly over the last 4 days, during business hours, and I never reach anyone. Ever! I have left at least 3 voice messages explaining our need to say goodbye to Max and that he is suffering, but I never get a call back. Max is suffering and we're trying to do our best for him at this stage in his life. After all his previous owners did to him, he doesn't deserve to suffer like this at the end of his life.Now watch someone in this hospital jump on here and try to explain this away. There is no justification for this. If you have to stay late to return a call, do that. Isn't this place supposed to be about the health and safety and love of pets?Seriously.

My puppy Mochi recently was discharged frm the urgent care after accidentally bit into my dad eye drops. We were advised to monitor her health if any changes to her temperature and heart rate. So we dropped her off at her vet (BPH) to monitor just in case. They were so kind to watch over and give us update as the day goes by.. She gotten better after we picked her up. It was so nice to see Mochi was as happy as a clam. Secretly wish they open 24/7.

This banafield location is the best. They have taken care of Ozzy Charles since we have moved to westford 9 years ago the customer service is phenomenal the techs are phenomenal these people are the best I recommend this place ten fold, you are the best

Chelmsford Place has gone down hill last 2 years everyone at the front are rude , they don't do emergency visits but you can get a appointment in a month or so which doesn't help , and if you have a appointment don't show up early they will make you wait til your time. The doctors are hit or miss brought my dog in for a skin coat condition was told need to see a specialist, then another visit for comprehensive exam doctor put dog on prescribe shampoo cured skin coat cured so it depends on which doctor you get..Moving forward will try the salem nh location

My dog Dash has been going to Banfield since he was a puppy. My Dash past away a week ago and had him cremated. Banfield treated Dash so well through his 6 years of life. Banfield was awesome when he was cremated. Thank You so much Banfield for treating my baby so good.

First time coming here and I already felt disrespected. We were 5 minutes late and waited for a bit only to have the receptionist tell us that the appointment was already half way over. Of course it will be halfway over if she just sat there and didn't even call anyone to check in. I also don't like the side look she gave me nor do I like the fact that I would need to rebook an appointment when I have been waiting patiently to have my dog seen. I'm sorry, but not sorry. I rather take my dog somewhere else that would actually want to care for my pet. NOTE: I prefer to not give any stars, but in order to post this comment I needed to put something. Will not be coming here!

I have been a client of Banfields for nearly 8 years and I'm DONE. Called and told them to take my plans (two dogs) off auto renew. They're running pets though there like a puppy mill. No in-room appointments at all. All drop off. (I really understood this policy when covid was full blown but we're pass that)That doesn't work for me. I'm not letting my dogs sit in a tiny kennel for hours so they can cram as many appointments in a day as possible. Office staff has changed and not for the good. EXTREMELY RUDE! New vets who don't even bother to read your pet history before they recommend the stupidest advise.You will never ever get a emergency appointment at all. Which makes there plan of unlimited visits a JOKE!It truly is sad because it use to be good. Like everything else the only thing Banfields cares about is the $$$. I seriously can't wait for my contracts to END.

I’ve been going here for years with my cats and dog. the vet techs and front desk staff are friendly and nice! they are not the issue. i finally decided to switch vets after the traumatic experience putting my cat down. They had taken him out back to set up the IV and when they brought him back in, he was crying and gasping for air. the vet didn’t say anything about it and left the room to “give us time”. I called her back in and had her put him down instead of giving us time to say goodbye because he literally couldn’t breathe and was suffering. what on earth did they do to him in the back? I had a similar issue before when i brought my geriatric cat (same cat) in for a single shot. i explained to the vet how he does not like to be touched. instead of giving the shot first, he did a full exam and by that time my cat was extremely irritated. they had to hold him down and he peed all over the table. my boy was so old and not feeling good and i was just shocked at how awful they treated him. it was extremely traumatic for both of us. I can no longer in good conscience take my pets here.

I’ve brought my two dogs here for almost 4 years; but today when I brought them in for their comprehensive exams, something was just very off. I dropped them off at 7:00 AM, I was told when I made the appointment they would be done 1:30 PM the latest. So I schedule my whole day around it. I called for maybe 30 minutes to see how they’re doing and when they might be done because it’s 1:30 ..no one answers. The doctor calls me at 3:30 to let me know one of my dogs is all set and ready to be picked up. When I asked about the other one.. the doctor said oh I forgot about him.. and she also said 81/2 hours of them being there is normal. One of my dogs also had a spot on her that looks like it’s been shaved? Is this normal?? So disappointed, if you’re busy or falling behind just be honest.

Literally the worst place to bring your pet. My dog went there and whenever we’d bring him for a grooming appointment he would get denied because he needed an updated vaccine but banfield never called to tell us these things. When he started showing signs of an ear infection I called to schedule an appointment for him and they were booked up for 5 months. I booked him an appointment anyways and he just got worse, when I tried calling them again to explain the situation they turned me away with an awful attitude and I had to find an emergency clinic. My dog passed away due to a tumor that could have been removed if his vet had seen him when I kept calling. Now I have a new puppy and wanted to make sure she would get her spade and they rescheduled my appointment that I made 4 months in advance TWO TIMES. When I called to confirm my afternoon appointment, they said I missed it and they called my number. They never called my number, the number they have is not my number and when I explained this the lady on the phone said okay we can schedule you one for another 5 MONTHS!!!! This is absolutely not acceptable, the customer service is horrible and they’re always rescheduling important vet appointments. DO NOT bring your pet here you will only go through disappointment. If I could give this a 0 star review I would in a heartbeat. I found another vet 5 minutes after my last phone call with banfield and they took me in with open arms and with an appointment in the next week. Please don’t forget to research where you’re bringing your pets and don’t settle for banfield.

I scheduled a vaccine appointment for our puppy a month in advance, 5 days before the appointment they called and said they had to reschedule for 2 months later and the system I used to book didn't reflect availability. She can't wait until she's 5 months old for her second round of vaccines. They should have never booked the appointment and if it was in error they should have informed me much sooner so that I could find a different vet. Incredibly unprofessional and dangerous for animals.

The staff was very nice and knew how to help anxious kitties. Their coverage plans seem very reasonable. I had issues booking an appointment online. By calling they were able to help and even added my pet to a cancellation list to be bumped up. We got a call a few days later from a cancellation. It was nice they followed through.

Brought our pet to this facility early this morning for her 6 month check-up, after not hearing anything back from them we decide to call after 6 hrs and was told the Doctor had surgery on other pets and it would be awhile. Why would you schedule other people's animal's to sit there all day knowing you already have other things booked for these time slots. Sounds like they are trying to double book and squeeze as many pets in as possible this is totally unacceptable.....

I'm so mad, I'm paying insurance for my cat in this place and i tried to make an appointment because she wasn't feeling well and obviously i was worried but the girl who take the call sent me to and emergency room on lawrence extremely expensive and the doctor she was very nice but also said that what my cat have would be easy to noticed even with a quick check. So disappointing.

Every experience I have had with Banfield has been positive. The entire staff, from doctors to the front desk, is always kind, professional, and efficient. I absolutely love the care they take with my animals and the optimum wellness plan has saved us so much money.

My dog currently takes anti-seizure medication which was supposed to run out in six months. Sadly because of a staff change with doctors the new doctor decided that the previous doctor's opinion on how my dogs treatment needed to be checked. He cut the time to three months instead of six. That would be fine but we received no notice of this until he was done to his last pills. We scrambled to get an appointment but their latest appointment put my dog in a horrible position. A weekend without his medication which he needs to be stable. We begged for any assistance during this time no matter the cost we were willing to spend hundreds even thousands for the pills needed to get him through those days because seeing anything seize is devastating especially in loved ones. They refused basically saying good luck. Snoopy my dog probably would've died if it wasn't for the emergency hospital in Westford graciously helping us in a time of need.Long story short never bring your animal here if you truly love them. They are heartless.

I have been taking my dogs to the banfield in Chelmsford for almost 4 years. And days ago I had the worst experience of my life. I took my dog to remove the stitches that she had. She did a surgery 2 weeks ago, and she stopped eating since. I told the vet everything, explained how she wasn’t eating and how weak she was. The vet did several tests and said that everything was fine with her, gave me antibiotics and asked to wait 5 days until the antibiotics took effect. 7:15 pm the same day my dog died... She was in shock because of the surgery she did and her blood was not going to the organs. Just be careful who you leave your dog with!

My dog loves to come here without fear and all that matters! From the front desk to the back staff they are all nice friendly and professional. First time dog owner and some stuff still new for me like we had our first dental cleaning yesterday . Everything went soo smoothly and just can’t thank dr Keiser and her team enough.they are absolutely amazing!

They say that they are there and care for you and your pets yes when all is well. My cat was suffering from congestion having a hard time breathin when I called to explain what was going on they told me it would be a week before I could get an appointment happy though to give referrals to somewhere else. Banfield you showed your true heart.My cat was sick and you treated it like it wasn't important. The receptionist was making an appointment like a regular exam. It was the first time in 4yrs that I've been coming there that I and my cat actually needed you. Well you failed....
