Ok, I have to be honest — first time camper over here ! Blew my expectations right out of the Deerfield ! Everything about the location has the best vibes ! I felt like I got the true “camping” experience without having to set up a tent ! The cabins are comfortable - bathrooms are clean. Common kitchen area and fire place is perfect for hanging out ! Already looking forward to next time ! And if you really love setting up a tent, there’s camp sites too! Best of both worlds !

This place is such a find! The cabins are very comfortable and cozy (way beyond my expectations). The attention to detail put into the amenities, like the kitchen area and campfire, made for such a wonderful stay with my son! The Bathrooms are modern and super clean. Katie the owner was so kind, responsive, and it’s clear how much this place is a labor of love. We will 100% be back.

My wife booked the entire campground for a ladies camping weekend and had an amazing time. The hosts have gone above and beyond to curate a welcoming and inclusive environment. They had mixed weather but it didn’t stop the fun, keeping dry overnight in a cozy cabins and cooking and hanging out under the pavilion and tent. She raved about how beautiful the off grid bathrooms were and that the scenery of the campground couldn’t be beat. I think they will making renting the campground out a yearly tradition. Highly recommend booking a stay with Foolhardy Hill!

Foolhardy Hill is the nicest facility that I have ever "Camped". I used quotes, because this is NOT a "roughing it" Campground. Katie and Biddy, the host/owners are the nicest and most accommodating. This "off the grid" place is convenient, comfortable, spotless clean and I would HIGHLY recommend a stay. I would also recommend renting the entire facility for a family reunion, off site business meeting, fishing club meeting, or just a place to meet up with a bunch of old friends... The bathrooms are clean and the showers are HOT. The pavilion provides a meeting place for groups, maybe discuss the day's catch, the one that got away, or just to meet new friends. The pavilion also has everything you will need for grilling, flat top cooking and 2+ gas burners.I was here for fishing. Foolhardy is located centrally for the best the Deerfield River has to offer.Pets welcome, but leave the little ones at home (unless renting the entire facility). If I have to leave just ONE negative comment; after the shower, the mirror above the sink was VERY fogged! (Did i mention, the showers are HOT!) :-)

If I could give them a million stars for service I absolutely would. A friend booked the campground for a weekend group outing. I didn't Google the campground beforehand; I just showed up. From the super cute logo (porcupine) to the fire pit with it's ring of bright orange Adirondack chairs facing the gorgeous view of the mountains to the stocked outdoor kitchen to the simple, yet cozy cabins, Foolhardy Hill is the best campground on the Deerfield River - I've stayed at a few. Not only did they have off-grid bathrooms, but they were clean and fully stocked with soap, shampoo, and conditioner. They had a games closet and even had a movie projector and screen available for use. We didn't use it because we were having too much fun playing the games. I'm a roughing-it kind of camper and don't really enjoy "glamping" but FH makes it easy to enjoy the comfortable amenities they provide. Camping made comfortable. You won't be sorry you went there.

We are very very pleased with our stay. Facility is very clean and modern. We love how it gives you everything that you need including cooking supplies. Bathrooms are very clean and they even provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash! It is truly like an outdoor airbnb. It is such a great escape to be in this place! Highly recommend them. Please support this hidden gem! We will be surely back with more people!

Foolhardy was the best camping experience I have had! I stayed this past weekend for a bachelor weekend and Katie was very accommodating. She even offered to put us in a cabin due to some cancellations because of weather. Everything you could possibly think of needing to pack is provided. Just bring a toothbrush and a change of clothes! Looking forward to returning.

Man oh man, this place really does have it all. Breathtaking mountain views, so close to the stunning Deerfield River, and the cutest cabins and camp set up ever! Fire pit- amazing. Pavilion- perfect. Katie and Patrick the owners are just naturals at delivering perfect service and making it look and feel easy. Can't recommend highly enough, we will be back for sure!

Incredibly well maintained camp right by the Deerfield River. The cabins are cozy and the bathrooms are immaculate. It is very clear the owners are passionate and have put in a lot of effort to ensure we enjoyed our time there. This is a great spot to stay if you like fly fishing, just drive up Zoar and pick anyone of the pull offs. It's 15 minutes to the Fife Dam.

We had such a great girls weekend at Foolhardy. We stayed in one of the 4 person cabins and it was beautiful. Comfy mattresses, cute lighting, and convenient hooks/shelving for storing things. The common areas were amazing as well. The bathrooms were huge with great showers. Nice cooking area and plenty of counter space for prep, great hammock area and fire pit. Will come back again with my husband.

We were a part of a small work group getaway, and had a blast at Foolhardy Hill. The location was perfect, and the cabins were far above expectations. We were fortunate enough to have the whole camp ground to ourselves, and it was a fantastic stay. Bathrooms were clean, cabins were spotless, and the grill/flat stove was perfect. We loved our hosts and their beautiful dogs. Can't wait to go back!

Group of 8 of us stayed up there last night. Wonderful place, cabins are great, hammocks for sleeping outside, tent area. Kitchen area is great. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Great fire pit with split wood. We went white water rafting only minutes away. Makes for a very comfortable camping area with enough amenities to be comfortable, we had a blast!

I spent two nights at Foolhardy with a group of friends and it was the perfect summer spot — I highly recommend to friends, family, anyone! Highlights included white water rafting (nearby the campground), fire circle at night, relaxing hammocks, and having all the amenities of an airbnb but way better with all the outdoor space and being closer to nature. The cabin, bathrooms, and cooking/dining/common areas were impeccably clean and well designed and comfortable. Other guests were respectful, friendly, quiet, and it was easy to share the space together.

I just spent a few days with a large group of friends camping at Foolhardy Hill. It was awesome!! The vibe was perfect for us, the cabins and campsites were immaculate, the kitchen area had everything we needed, and the bathrooms were incredibly clean and comfortable. The owners were very accommodating, friendly, and fun to hang out with. It's just a 5 minute drive to Zoar Outdoor, where we spent a day rafting. Can't recommend it highly enough! We'll be back!

Katie and Pat were the most attentive hosts! Made us feel very welcome and even hung out around the fire with us at night. This is an off grid solar powered camp ground with solar powering the necessities, you can even take a hot shower. They had amenities such as a flat top grill, regular grill, pots and pans, corn hole, a hammock cove and even free firewood for all guests use. There was motion solar lights leading the paths at night. You have the most amazing view of the Berkshire mountains and the stars at night, getting away from all that light pollution. We will definitely be back. We had the best time for our anniversary get away. Keep up the good work guys!! Super place, awesome logo, we now wear the porcupine with pride :)

Foolhardy Hill rocks! Spent the weekend fly fishing and the experience couldn’t have been better. Katie and Biddy are the best, so friendly and accommodating. The cabins were clean and comfortable, the bathrooms were immaculate, but the best part of the campground is the communal cookout area and fire pit. Made some some new and interesting friends and had an awesome weekend. Katie even woke up early to wipe the morning dew off the campfire chairs so we could enjoy our morning coffee ;). If I could give Foolhardy Hill 6 stars, I would.

Spent a very relaxing Labor Day weekend here with friends a few weeks ago! Katie and Biddy were amazing hosts, so warm and welcoming, it felt like home during our entire stay there. There was lots to do including checking out the cute downtown area, going to antique shops, hiking, white water rafting and more! The cabin was super cozy and kept us warm at night. The bathrooms were very clean and included showers as well (much needed). Kitchen space was always tidy and a great hang out spot for large groups. 10/10 would recommend and I hope to be back there again myself! Thanks for having us!

Great clean and new campground that's near to the river rapids and mountain biking, and owned by experienced rafting guides. Clean, spacious, and attractive bathrooms, comfortable and well-designed sleeping cabins and a smart communal layout. I couldn't think of anything else I would have needed. The cooking and social area was very well appointed and this means you don't have to pack as much. The lush green hillside environment made for a perfect weekend getaway with friends.

We stayed here with a group of 20 people and absolutely loved it! It was perfect for our loud group to have our own area and still be able to camp. The cabins are clean and comfortable and spread out to allow us to still have our own space. The kitchen area is amazing and has everything you could possible need. The hosts are genuinely nice people and made sure we were happy and had everything we needed. I will definitely stay here again!

Not enough nice things can be said about Foolhardy Hill. Great location in Charlemont Ma. Deerfield river is very close with plenty of spots to fish up and down, Berkshire east is close by, some antique shops, a couple of marts with good supplies, plenty of tubing and adventure places, and lots more. Campground is very clean. Cabins are nice and cozy. Community cooking center with a full sinks, grill, flat top with plenty of counter space to prep. Yard games provided by owner's. Probably the best camping experience I've ever had, the owners are incredibly friendly and genuine, they definitely go out of their way to make sure everyone has a great experience. Was here for a bachelor fishing weekend and it was great, honestly can't wait to go back.

One of my new favorite spots! Everything was very clean, comfortable and relaxing. The owners Pat and Katie were truly amazing and made us feel right at home (we loved meeting Odin and Yogie). They supplied everything from a full outside kitchen (utensils, grill, bowls, etc.) to endless amounts of yard games and activities. The cabins we slept in were spotless, and the community hammock area was a cozy place to relax! I have nothing but positive things to say, if your thinking about booking here, do it! You will not regret it. Can't wait to visit our Foolhardy Hill family again soon.

I spent this past weekend at the new Foolhardy Hill Campground. Katie and Patrick (Biddy) have created a unique camping experience. Their adorable cabins are very comfortable and exceptionally clean. You will not find cleaner bathrooms at any campground…anywhere! The community kitchen/pavilion has everything you need to cook all the meals you bring in. There is plenty of of firewood for the community fire pit with many Adirondack chairs to relax and enjoy the fire. There is soft tasteful lighting throughout the campground for safety while moving about in the night. The campground is perfectly located to enjoy all your outdoor activities in the Deerfield River Valley. Stay once and you’ll want to return. A simply charming place to spend some time. Get there if you can. I will be back soon.

There is no other way I want to camp after staying here. The grounds are nicely kept and the tent sites are secluded. We stayed in one of the cabins which was very comfortable and clean. The bath house has 2 very clean and bright bathrooms with showers. Also the outdoor kitchen is awesome with everything you could possibly need. The owners were very accommodating and genuinely great people. I am definitely staying here again and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.

This beautiful campground made everything a little easier than traditional camping. If you like cooking, bring groceries - no kitchen gear required. You will be delighted with the large gazebo that includes gas grill, gas skillet, large counter tops, sinks, and assorted utensils. Also note, that this is bear country (secure your coolers in the car). We tent camped, but found cute cabins that could sleep four as an option for our next stay. The community fire pit and all of the rest of the shared amenities are thoughtfully laid out and nicely maintained.Perfect location for anyone that likes the outdoors and wants to take advantage of the nearby attractions (kayaking or rafting whitewater, hiking, fishing, etc.). I would highly recommend Foolhardy Hill for a quick getaway or as an extended camping trip. As a bonus, the owners were attentive, communicative and extremely accommodating - they are passionate about their property and want their guests to love it as much as they do!

I just had an awesome weekend at Foolhardy Hill! My friends and I decided to have a girls’ weekend and Foolhardy was the perfect place for it. The cabins were cute, cozy and comfortable. And the bathrooms were sparkling clean. Not to mention, the showers were warm and had great water pressure. This can be hard to come by while camping so I was thrilled. If you are thinking about getting away for the weekend, just book it! I can’t wait to go back.

Having spent two nights at Foolhardy Hill recently I am already anxious to book my next visit. This place offers everything you could ever need; cozy cabins, clean bathrooms and HOT showers (the water pressure was amazing too! I didn't want to get out), comfortable hammocks, communal fire pit, firewood, grills, cooking utensils/supplies and propane! All included at a very reasonable price. The owners (Katie and Pat) are so friendly and helpful. They offered us recommendations into local activities and provisions. They genuinely love Charlemont and want their guests to have the best experience possible. There was another group there during our stay and it was fun to sit around the fire and meet new people but also felt like we all had our own space to relax and unwind. My fiance loved the hammocks so much he went out and bought one after asking Katie and Pat where to find it!

What a great place! I've been camping & fishing the Deerfield River for a couple decades and this was by far the most comfortable base camp I've used. Everything is very, very clean....from the cabins to the showers, bathrooms, and camp kitchen. The owners (Patrick & Katie) were incredibly welcoming, gracious and very hands-on. I was the token 'old man' the weekend I stayed, but felt right a home with a great group of people. I turned-in to my cabin to sleep before the crowd both nights, but the group fire pit and Sasquach Saloon are far enough away that any noise was negligible. The location for the best trout fishing in Massachusetts is ideal....Will definitely be back!
