I could not believe how beautiful the store was. I walked in, felt like it hugged me.❤️It was so amazing and the people there were so helpful and so kind.my dog looks beautiful and my little dog had to be shaved way down because he was so matted😓 I was uncomfortable to see him shaved down but I understood when Mindy explained to me that if you don’t shave them down, these can be very uncomfortable for the dog and irritate the skin.the hair will grow back This place is top notch, Josh and Coleen, David, and all the other workers there are fabulous. It’s been a great experience. I have walked into other pet stores in my long time owning pets never felt so welcomed.❤️

I have a yellow banana catnip toy and my cat loves it, but it's lost its catnip vigor (actually, I'm pretty sure it's older than my cat and she's almost a senior)... So I thought I'd get her a fresh minty new model of the same toy. Brookline Grooming had them but even better they also had a rainbow catnip toy from the same company. Their selection of cat toys is small but good quality. I also got some little catnip mice made from what seems to be very sturdy waxed paper or cloth.There's a wide variety of dog and cat foods and supplies, as well as small sections for pocket pets and birds.I haven't used their grooming service, but the grooming area behind the counter looked clean and well-maintained.

I have a mini labradoodle (~40lbs) and take him here every 6-8 weeks for grooming. They do an excellent job. He always comes back handsome, smelling nice, and happy.

Our dog was severely injured during his appointment. We dropped our dog off for a regular bath & de-shedding and were glad that they could fit us in on short notice. When we picked up our pup, he was pawing at his eye the whole way home. A couple of days later, he could not open his eye and was in severe pain, so we took him to the vet. They found scratches on his eye and treated him for a corneal ulcer. One week later, he still could not open his eye, and he was diagnosed with glaucoma as a complication of the ulcer. It's now been 6 weeks since he was groomed, and he is still in severe pain due to the glaucoma and can't open his eye. We've spent thousands of dollars on vet visits and now have to see an ophthalmologist regularly. The groomers were clearly not very careful with brushes and/or soaps and caused our dog severe pain and permanent injury. We are devastated because of the pain our pup is experiencing. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Please don’t take your cat here. I can’t speak to their dog grooming services but this felt like a rip off. They trimmed my cats nails and brushed my cat with a spray for 5 min and then said she was being too difficult to continue but it felt as if they were manhandling her and then charged me $90. They did not clean her face or her ears and combed one area of her fur before stopping. They don’t have a separate area for cat grooming and she was surrounded by rowdy dogs and was very stressed during the whole experience since she does not do well with dogs or even loud noises. Overall it was an overpriced experience and it does not seem worth it to take a cat here to be groomed.

Cat owners, beware! Before stepping into this place, ensure you're well-informed. Despite being told they could wash my cat over the phone, the earliest available appointment was over three months away. Upon finally bringing my cat in, they outright refused to wash her, reason being she wasn’t accustomed to it as a kitten, yet charged $90 for mere brushing and nail clipping.

I have taken my dog pal in for 2 appointments so far. Both went smoothly and the services were excellent! The gentleman who trimmed his nails explained to me, in anatomic language, the importance of frequent trims to avoid having the nails become too long.On the second appointment they bathed, dried and brushed him out. Now he is a MASSIVE SHEDDER!!! They managed to capture 99% of the loose fur and my home has not yet become covered in fine white fur just yet :)Love these guys!

Was super disappointed in this place - both my dogs were not fully dried when I picked them up, they didn’t even provide a brushing with their bath. One of my dogs came home with a huge mat behind her ear that we never previously noticed. For $80 per dog I would expect a lot more.

They started out good in the beginning. Then the two groomers my dog had left. They both were very good. Then a new chap started and the last time my dog went in she came back with cuts around her head and neck.The environment is very busy in the grooming area with dogs roaming free barking at other dogs, to be expected (I guess better than stuck in a crate.) Environment made my older dog super anxious.My dog started to refuse to get out of the car when bringing her here. So, decided the cuts was the last straw.There does seem to be a shortage on groomers making it tough to find a quality groomer now a days.Thankfully, I think I found a new one!

They handled my cat really rough. They also didn’t have a separate room for cats and dogs so there was many dogs roaming around while my cat was getting groomed. The groomer brushed my cats fur for about 5 minutes and cut her nails but that was about it. They had me on my way home 10 minutes after my appointment, they charged me $90 I was better off just staying home and doing it myself.

This place is my saving Grace,I brought my yorkie Tina back in 2015 and never left. They are super supportive, understanding, they absolutely love my dog and I can see that! The owner Mindy helps more than I can imagine and their manager Josh, is always available when I need him. The staff is great as well! A super clean place, super friendly and great prices. My only problem would be is that they are super busy and you must wait for an appointment for grooming, but that means that they’re good right ? This is the best hands down, would never change them.

Why do they groom the cats in a room of dogs walking around? Instantly stressful experience for my cat and it was $90 for no bath!? Definitely will not be coming back

I’ve been sending my dog, Zoey, to get groomed here for the past year, and I am SO pleased every time. Mayu is an amazing groomer. Every time I pick Zoey up after her groom, I’m blown away by how good she looks. I’ve also dropped Zoey off many times for daycare, and she’s always well taken care of. I feel safe knowing the staff there loves and cares for the dogs that go there. I’ve also bought all of Zoey’s food and treats there. The staff are welcoming and helpful every time. I also follow them on Instagram since they regularly share their product info and upcoming deals and events!

This place is a nightmare. I asked to have my Pomeranian trimmed and they shaved her down to her base coat. It is extremely choppy and uneven. There are no words to describe what a terrible job they did. They are very unprofessional with poor customer service. Please avoid this place at all costs.Response: Not choppy or even? That is simply not true. I was not rude or demeaning to your staff. You were rude & unprofessional to a customer. I said the f-word once out of frustration & apologized for it. Your response here is dishonest. A no-refund policy is understandable when a quality and acceptable service is provided. In this case, that was not done. You couldn’t have paid me to chop my dog’s hair like that. It’s amazing how poor your customer service is with your “4+ decades” of experience.

We took our beautiful Demi, a 6-year old Maine Coon kitty, to get groomed and bathed at this place this past weekend. Although our kitty whined the whole time the two careful workers who took care of her were incredible with her. They were gentle and loving to our Demi and got all her mats out, clipped her claws, and raked a lot of extra hair. When the whole process was over Demi looked and felt amazing and our house isn’t covered in excess cat hair. She even likes her new look because there is so much less to clean and so many fewer fur balls. We will definitely be back soon!

The staff is loving and warm to all the pups and cats who come through the door, Mindy the owner is the most knowledgeable animal person Ive met, anything you need to know just ask, shesNever too busy for a customer,and add to that she is a wonderful groomer as well. People there are rude. They will literally shout out “shut up” to dogs even tho they don’t bark that loud. They don’t give dog for walk or chances to pee and poo. My puppy was locked in a box for 6 hours and when I got him he immediately rushed out of the door and had a huge huge pee. He was not happy about his experience. The price has insanely increased from $50 to $70. I’m not satisfied for the the service I got with this price. we wont return!

Visit for Tiger to get his nails cut. The staff was calm, made him feel calm. Took only 5 minutes but for a cat who not comfortable with people, their cattitude made it easy. Will go back again.

Incompetent and negligent. AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS.I’m writing this review with great disappointment and anger towards Brookline Grooming. I recently had a horrifying experience that left my beloved dog injured and traumatized, With a heavy heart, I feel obligated to share my experience to urge others to avoid this establishment at all costs. Looking at past reviews, I can see this is a recurring issue. I regret coming here and I wish I had a time machine to go back in time and prevent myself from even booking the appointment. There is no one I trust more than Brookline Grooming! For grooming and daycare purposes, this place is the greatest. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and just so welcoming to my pup. Being able to have a spot to drop off my dog for daycare is so convenient and I always know she’s in great hands!! I am so grateful for this awesome team! (And they have great supplies too!)

I got a puppy back in the fall of 2021 & heard from a neighbor how wonderful they were for doggy daycare... and there it began. Mindy, the owner, is highly experienced and knowledgeable and has passed so much information to her team, who have been terrific with Enso, my pup, from care to feeding to helping me understand more around some minor health questions and grooming too. When I walk into the shop with or without my dog, I'm greeted by friendly faces many of whom I know love and care for Enso. I run a small business and when he was younger it was hard to leave him alone for long periods of time, but I felt great working on locations when he was in great hands (and with furry friends at Brookline Grooming :).

I frequently come to Boston with my puppy and always go to Brookline Dog Grooming when I’m there. This is the nicest and friendliest pet and grooming store. Josh and Coleen are so helpful and knowledgeable about dog food and pet supplies. The doggie day care is well run and the dogs have so much fun. *Edited my review from 3 stars to 2 stars because after we got home, I realized they had cut my cat's nails so haphazardly that one of her claws was bleeding.Called and made an appointment a few weeks ago for the next open cat grooming spot in October and they asked if I wanted to be on the list for cancellations. They called me again yesterday because a spot opened up so I took it. When I adopted my cat two weeks ago, the foster mom suggested bringing her to a groomer, so I wasn't sure what to expect.I came in for my 8am appointment and found that there were no less than seven dogs roaming around the grooming area. I was under the impression that cat grooming appointments were early in the morning to avoid stressing our cats with the presence of dogs. My cat was cowering in her crate as one dog kept barking.The appointment took maybe five minutes at most, where Mindy brushed out her dead hair and clipped a few nails. This came out to $80, which was way more than anticipated for a few minutes of service. In hindsight, I should've asked ahead of time what the pricing was like, as it's not listed anywhere online.On a positive note, everyone I interacted with was friendly, and they treated my cat gently.

Worst grooming experience of my (and my dog's)life. First time taking my dog to be groomed here.Mindy, the owner, groomed my dog. During dropoff, I didn't feel like she was listening to me describehow I wanted my dog groomed. She spoke to me forless than a minute. When I came back to pick herup, Mindy brought her out and explained that shehad nicked her ear during grooming. I understand,this happens. However, no apology was made.Mindy just explained that my dog whipped her headaround while she was cutting her ears, causing theinjury. She then explained that all of my dog's nailsbled when she cut them. I told her my dog haslonger nails and we never cut them until they bleedMindy, then, explained that because my dog was sonervous/difficult to handle some of the hair aroundher neck is still long and needs trimmed. Sheoffered to do this while I was holding my dog, but Ideclined as I just wanted to leave at this point. OnceI was in my car and could fully assess my dog, Inoticed that the entire haircut is very uneven. Herback, belly, neck, and tail all have pieces of hair thatappear to be untouched. It looks like her collar wasnever even removed. I called, and Mindy offered totouch up the haircut, but after driving there twiceand paying $80 for grooming I said no thanks. Shealso offered a free groom in the future, but afterthis experience I don't think I'll be returning. My dogis almost 9 years old and has been getting groomedsince she was a puppy. We've never had anexperience like this. Very upsetting and disappointing.

I took my cat here for the first time this morning, and I am SO HAPPY with the care he was given. My cat has thick, long fur and had a big, stubborn mat on his back. The groomers took very good care of him this morning, and he looks fantastic. I think he feels much better too. I can tell they care deeply about the animals. Thank you Brookline Grooming!

First, I would like to say they had majority of my information wrong after spelling it out on the phone repeatedly. They messed up my email and name plus some parts of my address.Second, there was a disagreement in front of me regarding grooming my cat with the front desk person and the groomer cause apparently the groomer was overbooked so there was a lack of communication on their part. For Refernce I was called Monday on the early cancellation list so there was plenty of time to get everything situated. Disagreement with staff in front of customers is just unprofessional.Third, they are pretty overpriced for only shaving my cat and bathing her. They didn’t clean her ears nor cut her nails like I had asked on the phone. So another miscommunication there.Last but not least, I had informed the front desk person my cat doesn’t do well with dogs around her, had I know they would have had over ten dogs loose in a confined space next to my cat being groomed beforehand, I wouldn’t have gone to them.Her shave was messy, the paw pads weren’t cleaned up so there’s a bunch of grown out fur under her paws and sections of grown out fur behind her lower legs which is also quite irritating giving how much I paid.I wouldn’t recommend for a cat to be groomed here. It seems very chaotic and stressful for a kitty given how loud it is with too many dogs everywhere and the unprofessional environment.Though the lady holding my kitty down to be groomed and bathed was very sweet and kind.
