Very helpful and responded to my adoption inquiry immediately. I was able to adopt my precious kitty within a couple days! And....all their animals come with a chip already in case they get lost! Awesome!!

I love this place. I adopted my puppy Morgan and my sons cat, Skittles. Both of our pets are so good and happy now. Morgan went from being very nervous and sad to now a happy and very hyper dog. Our cat Skittles moved right in and is super protective of my son and loves him. I HIGHLY recommend people adopt from this place because they have so many puppies, kittens and cats, rabbits, and more. They need homes.Upon adopting, our puppy and kitty were already vaccinated, spayed, and neutered. The staff really make sure to take care of the pets there. I really hope more people seek out this place to give the pets forever homes.

I had two cats a few years back that I had to give up for adoption. They were a mother and son pair. Both of them had skin problems, the boy cat wouldn’t even let us near him even after living with us for two years. He must’ve been traumatized or something. Sometimes he would walk over to me but I couldn’t touch him. He would just walk around me. But he wouldn’t come near my husband at all. The mommy cat was extremely sweet, she was friendly to everyone, loved belly rubs. For some reason she gained tons of weight and started peeing on the floor every day. We didn’t feed her a large amount of food. Just a normal amount of dry food. I don’t know how she gained so much weight. Her son gained a few pounds as well. It got to the point where we weren’t sure if we could continue to care for them. We could not afford to take them to the vet to see what was wrong at the time. We couldn’t afford the special skin lotion they needed. I felt terrible but we had to give them up. I got in contact with someone who would bring them to a good shelter where they wouldn’t get hurt and they would stay together. I was trying to do the best I could for them despite the circumstances and I felt that someone else would be able to afford to give them a much better home than I could. I just wanted them to be happy and well cared for. Well after we gave them to the lady who worked at the shelter (we met her halfway at a plaza like 40 minutes away from our apartment) I later got a call from the shelter. When I answered the phone they immediately started berating me and asking me questions in a very accusatory tone. They acted like I force fed the cats to make them fat. I explained that I fed them a normal amount of food and I wasn’t sure what caused the sudden weight gain. They asked me what I fed them and I told them dry food and the brand. They were appalled that I wasn’t giving them more expensive and better quality food (we were literally just doing our best) they kept going on about the cats weight, told me they looked messy and unbrushed, basically acted like I was an animal abuser. They kept going until I started crying, then kept going some more. Like they were just in a carrier for the long trip maybe their fur got a little messy? They looked fine when they left. I never mistreated them, I brushed them all the time. The people were so horrible to me and I got so angry at their accusations. I’m sure they treat the animals well at this shelter but be prepared to get treated like a criminal for having to give up an animal.

Adopted my two girls from their shelter in East Brookfield and use the vet services in North Brookfield. I wouldn't take my fur-babies anywhere else. Such an amazing adoption experience! Absolutely wonderful staff!

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience adopting a beautiful very energetic kitten, Stormy Grace (formerly Sugar) at the Northborough Pet Smart site. She is welcomed into our home by her older kitty sister Molly who recently lost her kitty brother. We arrived extra early to be first in line. The staff was very kind and helpful and Ihighly recommend them.

Great place to adopt unwanted animals. Rates are very reasonable when you factor in all the work that went into getting the pets ready for their new Furever homes. Shots, vaccinations, spay/neuter, chipping and sometimes transport from other areas.

We adopted our dog from Second Chance in 2018. They were extremely nice & patient unlike some other shelters visited. There was no underlying rush to choose a pet and zero judgement. Their costs were lower than other shelters AND they microchip! Our dog was 1 of a litter of 3 puppies. Danny (formerly Black Sabbath!) is now 2 1/2 and we couldn’t be happier!

Even though I was denied a second kitten to provide a companion for our adopted cat ..Second chance kittens and cats are so clean and sweet they outweigh any other reason of biased judgementsMy policy when I adopt is for life..I helped my many relative care for their cats since I was 9 years old to 39

Great place to adopt. The staff are friendly. They spend time with you answering all your questions. They're patient and very good with the animals. I went to several shelters before Second Chance. They were by far the best. I highly recommend this place for dogs, cats, and even rabbits... We got both of our dogs from Second Chance. Our house is full of love and happiness!

Just adopted Nona (now Luma) from Second Chance. She is the seventh animal my family has adopted from here. As usual, the staff was friendly, the process was smooth (even during these trying COVID times), and you could tell all the animals were happy and well-cared for. I will always recommend Second Chance. #adoptdontshop

I am very unhappy about my experience with this rescue company! On 7/30, I drove an hour and showed up at the PetSmart store almost 2 hours early knowing about their first come, first serve policy. I was at the cat cages 10 minutes before anyone else arrived. Even though it was established that I arrived at the cages first, and I am fully qualified to adopt the cat I wanted, the young rescue employee girl chose to give the cat to a woman and her daughter who both showed up 10 minutes after I did.The other adopter even admitted that she wasn't aware that it was first come first serve. She then gave some lame story saying that she held the door for me going into the store when the store actually has automatic doors. It was clear to me in the interaction, and from the other adopter who said how I should just be a gentleman and let her go first, that I was being biased against because I am a man.Since I didn't want my 1 hour drive and almost 2 hour wait to be for nothing, I settled for adopting one of the remaining kittens. She is a beautiful black kitten and she is very happy in her new home.On the bright side, the communication I had with this rescue prior to this incident with a different employee (Nicole) was great and timely and the rest of their adoption process seems professional. The issue is with the on-site rescue employee not following the policy for "some reason".

My brother and I drove 2.5 hours up there too pick out a dog after the shelter had approved us. We didn't get one because they wanted the entire family to go, including my other brother who was in high school and my step-father who recently had 2 strokes. So we drove 2.5 hours back home without a puppy. I was very upset and cried a portion of the ride home. Now the shelter keeps emailing us and asking us for donations. No. The people were very rude. We have a dog from another shelter. He is very happy here and we live him very much. Perhaps this organization should harass the people they were actually able and willing to help. I will never look to adopt from here again.

We adopted two kittens from Second Chance over the past year. Both have adjusted well and are happy in their fur-ever home! It was helpful having the cats available at PetSmart. I found other shelters were hard to book appointments with or the cats were gone before I could meet them. The staff member was also nice and they give you a free coupon for your first vet visit which I appreciate. Thank you!

I just adopted the most wonderful cat at Second Chance. Parsley is the sweetest cat. He has adapted very easily to his new home. I want to give a special thanks to Nicole who processed my paperwork and Chris W who brought Parsley to me in the meet and greet room. She is very patient and kind. I missed out adopting Parsley the first time at Petsmart because I was second in line. He was returned a few days later, and I got my second chance to adopt him. I feel very lucky to have such a wonderful cat. Thank you all at Second Chance for the care you show the animals.

We went there to drop off blankets for them. We looked at the cats and kittens and would have taken one but were on a limited budget and already have two cats that we have gotten from them and they are both great cats. If I ever decide to get another cat or kitten I'll go back there. The place is great...

This is a small shelter. In order to see any pet you must fill out a form. I told them I was only "looking" and not planning on adopting until my family was with me. I had never been to the shelter before but since I was driving by I thought it would be nice to give some pets a bit of attention. I was told I couldn't look at them without filling a form. Then you are followed and watched at all times. Kind of creepy. All I wanted to do was give some love to some animals. I've never ever had this kind of experience at any shelter before and I've donated my time to many shelters.

Called to see if I could get my cat re-homed due to personal reasons. The woman who answered the phone was very judgmental and quite rude. She was verbally shaming me for my choice without even understanding my situation.

Wonderful staff. Took home the perfect cat, I could not be happier with her. Everyone was very kind throughout the process. My only issue was with the health of the cat. Only 3 days after adopting I had to take her to the vet where she stayed 2 nights. She had pneumonia due to having lung worm for a considerable amount of time. This may have been caught by a more thorough vet exam prior to adoption.

We just absolutely love the Veterinary Clinic. We got our 4 year old Pug fixed and everyone was so sweet and attentive to our needs. We then took her a week later for a follow up as she was not feeling well and again very nice and attentive. The pricing is also fantastic, which I would much rather give my money to an organization instead of a chain vet. Even tho they are a good half hour away from our house we will continue to take Molly to then as they are great.
